I just saw this scene and had to pause.. My heart is broken. I can’t see Daniel laying blue.. I can’t see Viktor’s empty eyes. This really happens around the world.. I read that they planned to kill Viktor, but decided on Daniel. To prove that this sort of thing doesn’t just happen to people miles away from you. This can happen to anyone. Any ordinary person, any average family like the Lyons can suffer this loss. Any normal country and government can go batshit crazy and you’ll have to flee and you’ll have to get on that boat. And this CAN happen to you. Daniel was us. Daniel was arrogant. Daniel was star-eyed. Daniel always thought he’ll make it and that this can never happen to him.. Maybe that’s what people fleeing from war-ridden middle-eastern countries thought.

When I started watching Years and Years I was expecting something as harsh as Luther or Black Mirror, but nothing prepared me to these little dark seconds 4:00. It's strong and efficient, lives lost in seconds, then life goes on, as it happens day after day, year after year.

The entire show felt like a kind (and good) episode of Black Mirror except this part, this part was brutal.
My heart was riven by this- I know this was put in to be didactic, but it just reminded me of the '10s theme in Hong Kong films w gay characters that always ended in tragedy :'( - Viktor found his family tho, so not all tragedy (wish we'd seen apology from Steven tho for all the distasteful things he had said).

Count Dooku, all that needs to be done to stop illegal immigration is to stop making immigration illegal. If the UK’s immigration process wasn’t so difficult, expensive, and time consuming, which was at least the case for EU citizens before Brexit, law abiding citizens of other countries could come here legally and safely and continue to enrich our country as their predecessors have already done.
The UK is a developed country and it’s about time it’s government and it’s citizens started recognising the responsibilities that come with that.
