The fact they kept the kissing scene with booster and bowser in is amazing this remake is so good!
You can tell who's in the smithy gang from the song that plays during the fight, the jester duo indeed work for Booster, since entertaining guests is Booster's whole gimmick
That and all of Smithy's gang tend to be named after some sort of weapon or attack.
Mack the knife was a jazz song but was renamed to Claymortor for Claymore.
Bowyer is a bow and arrow.
Punchillio is punching.
Knife guy and grate guy are knife and grates.
Yari: translates to spear, explaining Yaridovich, or now Speardovich in the remake.
Axel Rangers are Axes.
Exor os a sword.
And Smithy is a hammer/weapons smith.

I always assumed Knife guy and Grate guy are a play on Nice guy and Great guy.
Contrary to assumptions, Puncinello isn't a Smithy member either, as he's not a living weapon, at best he's a living bomb bag, but mostly because the hammer bros/Crocco boss music plays rather than the Smithy gang song.

Getting the peach kiss is *SO* much easier in this version, like I literally got all 4 items in like 8 seconds.
I feel I remember the SNES version snifits jumping all around very fast and annoying to catch, here they just walk a little bit back and forth.
Man even the thumbnail feels like a remake of your previous one lol.
Now THIS is how you do a remake and the more I see how this is done so well, the more safe and excited I feel about ttyd remake.

Actually, Brent, the music is your tell on who is part of thr Smithy Gang or not. Punchinello, Knife Guy and Grate Guy use the theme you first hear from the Hammer Bro fight; whereas Bowyer shared the theme Mack/Claymorton used which is the Smithy Gang theme.

Ngl, Peach kinda becomes the worst party member now. Because you can swap your party members in whenever you want, you can just swap Peach in when you need healing and swap her out for one of the others who grants a better stat buff.
Best party members are kinda Mallow and Geno now because they boost Mg Atk and Atk/Spd respectively, increasing your offenses very well.
Also, I'm pretty sure Bowser and Mallow's Triple Attack is the best because it can target so many elements.
