Reportage artist documents migrant tents along Dublin's Grand Canal

'I was always sketching, but it was only during Covid that I took up reportage live sketching,' shares Kate, a reportage artist with a journalistic background.
For her, it's about more than just observation; it's about finding the story in the scene.
'Events on the Grand Canal in Dublin are of huge human interest,' she said. 'I thought it was important to go down to record what was happening there.'
Kate's sketches of the migrant tents lining the canal banks capture not just images, but narratives. 'I was struck by the parallel lines of vivid blue tents, knowing they were sheltering people inside,' Kate said 'so it’s not just what I observe, but what I think about when I'm observing, I love to capture the human gesture and human expression.'

I am voting Indie. None of the parties are worth a fig. There will be a lot of Indies this time. Will screw that lot right up. For every one of us marching. There are twenty or more at home afraid to march.
The Govt's last spiteful kick in the guts to its people is to opt in to the new EU migration pact when we have an opt out. Only Ireland and Denmark have an opt out (due to previous treaties). Other EU member states have no say in the matter. Denmark are opting out. Once we opt in. That's it. A new Govt. can't change it.
Coverage of Monday's march?? Our own media hardly covered it. And the little coverage we got downplayed it. The Irish Times said there were only hundreds at the march. 😂😂
