People forget that Whyte beat Joshua in the amateurs. It don't mean much. They both come a long way since then Zhang & AJ. Listen to Zhang background documentary, he always had alot against him. It wasn't untill late in his career that he turned pro and recieved pay/money for his boxing. Joshua was more privilieged to live in a western modern country. It was more difficult for Zhang to take boxing serious

I don't get all of the anti-AJ rhetoric over the last year. Losing to Usyk was no shame. His comeback in 2023 was very good. Not explosive, but very healthy give the current era. He got in rounds and developed an enhanced sense of confidence. Ali did it in similar fashion after losing to Frazier. I think AJ has shown much character and dedication in the face of dissent. So many cried about him not looking stellar in 2023, forgetting all along that Wilder was doing next to nothing and Ruiz absolutely nothing. Throw Fury in there also as Ngannou got in the ring with him yet supposedly (according to Fury) nobody else would..
Fury got destroyed by an MMA fighter who'd never fought a round of boxing in his entire life. His resume is also shockingly bad for someone that old. His signature win was against Wlad, one of the worst title fights in the history of HW boxing.

I’ve not seen this before. It was a top amateur bout, very entertaining. Both men were impressive. Joshua displayed excellent boxing skills here. For me he has more of the traditional boxers body shape here…less of a bodybuilder look.

Well, Wilder definitely has a right hand, no legs (congrats Joe Parker!).
There's plenty of KOs in the lower weights... it's the speed and timing that makes your brain bounce inside the skull that causes the senses to cut out (KO you) not just power.
If you use your opponents weight and momentum against him, that helps.
Then you come across blokes who won't knock out no matter what.
I agree that a good punch doesn't come from just the fist or arm...it needs body weight, speed and timing behind it.
For someone without any real ametuer pedigree AJ has done amazing for himself, many of the top guys we see today have been boxing with coaches since they were 9 & 10yrs old

To be a world champion you have to beat a world champion and take the belt, and he hasn't come close t doing that. They don't give away world championships as participation awards.

The amatuer is one thing, but they have to do it professionally. Both boxers style has changed since the amatuer days.
Fury has conned everyone into thinking that Joshua is nothing more than a bodybuilder who can’t fight. The tide might be starting to turn. Get a feeling there is a lot of pent up anger stirring up inside Joshua and it might be channeled directly onto Fury’s chin if they meet in 2024.
That fight will sell the most PPV’s IF Fury can get past Usyk, which it’s questionable that he can

Styles make fights. Ruiz would knock Zhang out. Sanchez obliterates Zhang and Frank is the real boogeyman. Zhang is a top 20 guy like the rest but he isn't unbeatable. Franklin and Michael Hunter would be hard fights for him.

AJ appeared physically stronger and he was taking those punches from Zhang, and Zhang can bang.
Zhang was too raw but still AJ was lucky to score that knockdown when Zhang was slightly unbalanced. Also AJ was only taking those shots thanks to the helmet, if/when this fight happens again of within the next 2 years Zhang knocks him out for sure.

I can see it going both ways. The margins are smaller than you think, all kinds of variables besides inherent skill can affect the outcome.

Zhang has improved since then. The knockdown comes from a poor stance of Zhang AJ looked fearless, relentless back then. Took the fight to Zhang and won. 💪🏻

This young AJ had a chin and wasn’t afraid to brawl , while the old aj has been terrified of letting go after getting his ass handed to him by ruiz's hand speed. Maybe it was the head gear and the amateur gloves. But the old aj now seems scared to enter a firefight preferring to keep distance and jab when he does get hit hard he seems to get crumpled
The new zhang is massively heavier at 280, has much heavier hands, has an extremely high accuracy and is absolutely devious capable of reading an opponent and setting up traps and has pretty much dominated most of his matches yes even the hrgovic one
I watched both of these guys recent fights and it is very clear that zhang wins
Actually Zhang is even slower than AJ and is a concrete shoed guy that throws like 1 big punch per hour.
AJ would aim and slam his fist right through his skull, permanently ending the career of the old Zhang.
Anthony joshua hasn't been this aggressive in at least five years😂. Looks like anthony feels a bit more adventurous once he gets head gear on.
But he was far more aggressive than this in his early pro career too, nothing to do with headgear.

Zhang is a lot bigger 50lb's now and hits a lot harder.
Joshua was landing some nice jabs but was getting hit by Zhang's straight left. If Zhang hit Joshua with his straight left punches now Joshua would get knocked out even easier than Joe Joyce did.
It must be noted that in the amateurs a clean punch is is only worth 1 point no matter how hard the punch is or the damage. The scoring of effective shots and the amount of damage is not taken into consideration like in the professionals.
In proper amateur scoring this bout was close. One of the commentators was biased and clueless. He was just an AJ "Blow Boy".

Steroids seem op look what they did for this bodybuilder I know he doesn’t fight top guys but still made a boat load of money doing it good for him shows you that you don’t need to be the best boxer just be the best at cherry picking boxing matches not sure if he can be put in the top 10 active heavyweights tho maybe 9th or 10th he could squeeze in
