  • We had a dangerous broken Wood Dock Pile that we have wanted to remove for a while. The low water drought conditions this year gave us the opportunity to get a farm jack right next to the Pile and jack it out of the lake.
Here is how we pulled the dock post out of the lake with a farm jack, a hole saw, wood chisel, a couple of come-alongs and a concreate form stake.
Let me know if you want to see more dock work stuff, I have tones of video.

I've used a farm jack to do this many times. If you wrap a chain a few times around the base of the post and connect the ends together with a shackle you can jack off that. Grips like the jaws of life and won't slip up. Works great.

Nail,a,2 by 4 block onto the pilling, then the Jack underneath the block. No need to drill or cables cheers. Move to block as needed to gain more hight

Yea that sounds like a great idea, will try it if I have to do it again, probably could notch the block underneath so the jack could not slip also.
