My screen door started slamming progressively more over the past few weeks/months. I thought my air cylinder needed replacing. With your instruction and 20 seconds later, I adjusted the screw at the end of the cylinder and now the door closes smoothly and no longer slams. Thank you for posting the video and saving me a trip to Home Depot! Cheers!
Thank you for the video. I didn’t realize there was another adjuster at the bottom. The guy first showed me when he installed my storm door, but I totally forgot. So thank you.
i'm a woman in my mid 70s and not that steady on my feet ... the storm doors in my house practically knock me down. i'm so glad to see that they can be adjusted. i'll try to adjust myself or get a handyman to do so soon Video is most helpful. Thank you..
I had a similar problem with a different cause and different solution- perhaps it might help others. Door wouldn't close right- not catching. I tried filing as shown in this video but that didn't work. Then I thought that the moving part (I don't know the names of the parts) wasn't going far enough into the "rectangular thing". So, I thought that maybe if I raise the "thing" a bit- maybe it'll close correctly. Then I had to ponder what to put under the "thing" to raise it. Anything soft would get squeezed once I tightened the screws. So, I had some old credit cards. I cut one into little squares. I thought that maybe a thickness of 3 of those might be about the right distance to raise the "thing". So, put I 3 squares just above each of the 3 screws- then tightened them. Voila! Closes perfectly now! So, your solution didn't work for me- but thanks- because watching it got me to tackle the problem. I'm not particularly handy with home repairs except for very simple problems. I just have little experience. I wish when younger- those college years I worked summers in a paper mill- I should have worked with local tradesmen. I think 3 months with a carpenter- 3 with a plumber and 3 with an electrician- would have helped this old nerd!
The guy who installed ours did a good job except for the adjusters (and in one case, the adjuster mount). I needed the door to open a bit wider and to not close so quickly. It needs a bit more tweaking but it's already better. Thanks for the video.
Hello, I want to see it with the front door closed. My issue is the air pocket between storm and front door prevents the storm from latching. I always have to keep the screen open even for just an inch so the air has a way to escape.
If your door has that good of a seal, it may not latch all the way without a way for the air to escape. These are pneumatic closers, not hydraulic. There is one thing that you can try. On the closers there are two pin holes. Try putting it on the tighter one and see if that helps. Thanks for watching. Don't forget to stop by our website www.greatwhiteninja.com
I have been through numerous storm door mfr courses and you adjust one at a time, to the same time, in seconds to close say 4 seconds. THEN reattach both together.
This was helpful, after just a couple mins I got it down to a nice speed with slamming. Now my only problem is it still wont latch. So now im lookin for latch solutions. Ive read I might need a bracket or shimming the current. Knowing next to nothing and having 0 tools....this should interesting.
If you are having questions on the latch I can try and help. You can contact me directly on the contact page of our website and then send me pics of what is going on. Then I can try my best to tell you what you need to do.
Good didactic video. Though I have another issue, I hope you can help me. There's an outer profile, I guess to keep the wind even more from getting in or for a esthetic purpose. Is there a way to take that apart without destroying it or making the door look bad? Actually, to put it on the other side?
My Larson door has a foot pedal like yours on the bottom cylinder of the storm door however my locking pedal has moved to the side from the top of the closer. Each time the storm door closes the pedal touches the house door and then each time the storm door is opened, the storm door locks back. Is there a way to move the locking pedal back to the top of the cylinder? Thanks for any help you can give me.
thank you. one thing i hate is the sound of slamming doors. my family constantly slams the door. i want to rip the door off the hinges!! i hope this works for me.
I have had this closer less than 6 months and the shaft is bent and now wont close. do you sell just the shank? I cannot find the warranty and dont know if I went online to fill one out. Thank you for your help. Carol Colvin
Carol, sorry to hear about your problem. Honestly it sounds like something ran into this and not an warranty issue. The replacement units are less then $20 and are easy to swap out. There is no way on these to replace just the shaft. Here is an Amazon link to the replacement unit for you. Thanks for the comment and good luck on your project. amzn.to/2C5r0X7
i have a situation where i'd like the storm door to open a bit wider. it's a new install Provia, and is at about 80-85 degrees. really need it to have a wider open range of around 90-95 degrees. any advice on accomplishing that? thanks
Not if you want to use the closers with it. Sorry, I don't know of any that will give a normal storm door with normal pneumatic closers that kind of opening range. I guess you could install a hydraulic closer like on commercial doors. Thanks for watching. Don't forget to stop by our website www.greatwhiteninja.com
I take back part of that. I do know of some doors that will open 90 degrees or more, but they normally don't close all the way on their own. You can re position the mount of the opener on the door to give it more swing room, but it will almost certainly not close all the way on it's own.
I have the exact same door. Here is my question. When the door to the house is closed does the storm door still close and latch properly? Is it best to start with the adjustment screws all the way in on the upper and lower?
+ramroad2008 For the first part of your question, yes when the main house door is closed the storm door should close and latch properly. There are many variables to make sure that happens. First is of course that the closers are closing at the proper speed, but if any area of the frame is out of square then the door's closing ability will be effected. And for the second part of your question I normally start with the screws where the come from factory then work from there.
Any ideas on how to adjust the screen slider? The up/down slide action worked fine for months, and now, even though I slide the window all the way to the top, I can no longer move the latch under the window. The window now, slowly, slides down, because the latch not longer holds it up. It only slides down an inch or so, but I'd like to fix that.
Ok, I know which door that you have. I have installed a couple of those, but I do not own one so I am not as familiar with it's window as I should be. Is there a locking latch to catch the window, or is it supposed to stop wherever you stop moving it?
Around The Home there is a locking latch to hold the top window in place, and it used to work. I’d lower the window to reveal the screen, and then raise the window to close it up, using the locking latch to hold it in place. But starting a few months ago, I’m not able to get the latch under the window. I’ve pushed the window up as I as it can go, but the latch won’t clear the window.
I installed a new Larson storm door and it shuts good, the problem is that when it's latched there is about 1/8" of play between the latch and striker plate, the wind causes the door latch to bounce back and forth against the plate and it's noisy. I know I can put a piece of wood in the striker plate recess and take up the play but I'm wondering if there's a better way to do it or some kind of a kit?
They should provide little shims for the striker plate. Did you have those and they were not enough. To be honest, I don't know of a kit for that. And have always seen installers just cut a little block of wood to fit in and fix the gap when necessary. Thanks for watching and don't forget to stop by our website for many more helpful videos. www.greatwhiteninja.com
@@AroundTheHome1 I'm not sure if they provided shims or not, it's been too long ago that I installed it and I don't remember. It only really does it if we have the back door open at the same time, the air pressure is equalized then and when it's windy out, I just put up with it for awhile. I'm at Menards now, gonna look around and see if they have something, if not I'll just get a small piece of hardwood and cut something myself...
My door latch....that top latch....not the main lock, doesn't stay. It shuts but from the inside, if I push it....it will open. The door is unlocked....but should hold with that top latch so the door is closed. Could the door handle/ latch be broke ?
I think that I understand what you are saying. It is possible that the latch is broke or wore out. I would check to see if it is coming in contact with the strike plate first. The strike plate is on the jamb where the metal frame has the slot for the latch to go into. Is it lining up and is the latch entering the slot? Is it too high or too low, or maybe too far away?
If its a Larson door, the serial number is on hinge side on the side of door . Write down that entire number . Call Larson support at 888.483.3768 they can help you out.
Well, that depends on how hard it is catching. The proper way to fix this is to take the frame loose on the opposite side and shim it. The top of the frame would need to move outward and the bottom of the frame needs to move inward. But assuming that it is just catching a little bit and the latch is still working fine then the easy way to fix it is just file or grind a little of the top edge of the door. Thanks for watching. Don't forget to stop by our website www.greatwhiteninja.com
Hey bud so I have mine on a screen door. And i can get it where is closes at the right speed. But about an inch and a half before it’s closed. It picks up speed and SLAMS. Anything I can do to fix that at the very end?
Sounds like you have a bad closer unit. I would suggest replacing it. Should help. Thank you for watching. Check out hundreds more of our videos at www.aroundthehome.org
That's hard to try and describe. If the door is catching do to the changing of the seasons, then there is not enough clearance. It also depends if it is only catching at the top or bottom or if the whole side is catching. Put simply, the frame for the storm door needs to be adjusted to give more clearance. Possible, if it was installed with shims on one side, then it would need to be taken down and re-shimmed. Either way, it normally requires part of the frame to be taken down and re-adjusted. Thank you for watching. Check out hundreds more of our videos at www.aroundthehome.org
I think that I understand what you are saying. If the frame is square and true then there will be a small uniform gap all the way around. If you have a big gap at the top and it is making the door catch, then you need to reset the frame. It needs to be shimmed so that it can square and then the door will shut right. Thanks for watching. Don't forget to stop by our website www.greatwhiteninja.com
I had a heavy duty screen door installed from Lowe's and they claim the closing mechanism cant actually allow my door to open all the way (it can open about another foot and a half), they said the closing mechanism would fail if it opened any more... does that sound right? The door is a Titan security screen door... I don't remember having this issue with any of my other houses and the installer already messed up the pump installation to begin with so I can't trust that they are giving me the whole truth.
Honestly it's hard to say from just a description. What do you consider all the way? 90 degrees? More? Most storm doors open about 80 degrees. The more they open the harder it is to get them to close enough to latch.
I didn't realize people put two on. I've broken a couple of closers on my heavy storm door, and have gotten pretty frustrated and just bungee corded the door open unless a storm is coming. I bought one heavy duty closer, but I think I'll go get a second one. That might do it.
Sound like the closer is defective. Sounds like the seal is blown and just needs to be replaced. You can go to your local hardware store and pick one up. They are a pretty universal fit. Thanks for watching. Don't forget to stop by our website www.greatwhiteninja.com
Every spring my door starts scraping on the door jam. I imagine this is from snow and ice. How do I adjust the storm door so that it doesn't scrap the bottom of the door jam?
@Christy this is more commonly caused by the humidity in the air during the warm months. The wooden door jam swells slightly causing things like doors and windows to act differently. Is it only scraping on the bottom and more specifically where on the bottom?
@@AroundTheHome1I'm sorry, It's not a wood door. It's a regular Larson type storm door that leads out to my patio. It's scraping on the bottom aluminum(ish) plating and doesn't swing open well. It makes a high-pitch scaping sound. How can I adjust it so it stops scraping and doesn't stick when I open it?
I know that your storm door isn't wood. I was referring to the wooden door jam that the storm door's frame is screwed to. But back to the problem at hand. Ok, so it is scraping on the bottom of the storm door. Is it scraping just on the latch side or fairly even across the whole bottom?
@@AroundTheHome1 OK--So I went and examined the door more closely and the door is scraping across the top. My bad. I thought it was near the bottom. The door wont shut tightly without pulling it closed. When you open it, it scrapes and makes a high pitched scraping sound along the top of the door but more toward the 'door knob end' along the top of the door than the center or hinge end. Is it still the swelling of the wood the door jam is attached to that is causing the scraping? Is there any way to adjust it so it swings closed tightly without scraping?
I do believe it is the wood swelling. There is a reason that doors have extra gap that they don't need all year round to take care of this. But if the door is not square with the jam, when your house expands it will scrape. Now I am sorry to ask yet another question, but is it scraping on the side of the door at the top, or completely on the top. I need to know specifically or I will tell you the wrong way to fix it.

I am assuming that it has a push button lock on it instead of the metal washer slide lock. If it has the push button then once it is locked you should have to only pull the door open a little to release the lock. If the door cannot open more then you might have to remove the closer and pull it upon outside of the door. It is also possible that the closer has broken and will not unlock. Luckily in either case all you have to do is remove the two pins to remove it and if you need a new one then you can buy a matching replacement and put it right back into place with the two pins that you removed.
Sounds good. Glad you got that working right. Thanks for watching and don't forget to stop by our website for many more helpful videos. www.greatwhiteninja.com
Hi I had a fridge delivered they took the storm door off and they screwed it back all back in but now it doesn’t close properly it’s hitting the brick wall a bit any ideas how to fix it thank you
There could be so many things wrong. I could attempt to help out with some pics. If you want hit me up on my website www.aroundthehome.org on the contact page.
If the closers keep slamming even if you have tightened up the adjustment screw, then the seals are probably shot. I have Amazon links in the video description.
I just installed this exact door and it opens to far . I installed the closer exactly like was told in the instructions I even double triple checked the instructions. Any thoughts ?
Oh, wow. That is far. Well, something is out. Opening 100 to 115 degrees is not a problem, but sounds like yours is opening 150 degrees. Sounds like the bracket on the door is just too close and needs to be out a little farther. I would feel better with some pics. You can hit me up on the contact page of my website if you want to send me some pics of the door. After you submit your contact info, we will be able to send pics and I could see what you have got going on. www.aroundthehome.org/
Just got a new knob latch strike for my son’s older storm door - the latch doesn’t keep the door closed as I can still push through it if handle is locked or not - only thing HD had. Is it not functioning correctly? (Ps - you’re not even chunky-lol) thnx
@@AroundTheHome1 I have two closures. The storm door doesn’t open all the way there is too much force. I’m gonna rehang the top one again n not have closure opened a little while attaching hinge
@@AroundTheHome1 Hi. I wish it was that easy. Everything is tight. The latch is sitting on the frame on the right side. I have tighten all screws on the hinges, door frames, handle. It did not help. So I took the side frame off and tried positioning it more to the right and then that left too large of a gap between the door and frame, so water would get in and it looked bad. So I put it back. Now the door also is rubbing a little bit on the top right corner as well as the latch still resting on the frame. I probably need 2 mm and then the latch would hit correct so it could suppress and close properly. I also put 2 3-inch screws in the hinges to doorwall hoping that would pull it in but it didn't. The closing speed on the actuator is right also. I tried it at different settings and that didn't change anything.
Ah, now that's a lot more info. Yes, wish it was that easy. From what you are saying, the best that I can figure without being there is that the door is out of square with the frame. You say you need about 2mm for the latch to hit correctly. Can I assume that means that the storm door latch is 2mm low to properly enter the strike plate on the frame? If so then you need to change the shims on the hinge side. For instance, if the latch needs to go up, then you would add a small shim to the lower part of the hinge side. Maybe this helps, or maybe I misunderstood you.
Okay your tutorial worked but it affected the locking mechanism. The little piece that allows the screen door to stay open by itself does not work now.
I was just showing how to speed up / slow down your storm door closing speed. I'm not sure what you are referring to. Does your model storm door have a separate screen door, like a double door? The only screens on these that I am familiar with are screens that are built into the storm door and either have a sliding glass window that reveals a screen, or a roll away screen that rolls up into the top of the door as you pull the window up.
Well, without being there to see it, I'll tell you what it sounds like to me. And, that is a very small opening. These doors should upon almost 90 degrees, so you are saying that it opens only half way. I would first double check the closer to make sure it is opening all the way. I wouldn't want to suggest any door alterations before you could confirm that it's not just your closer. But after that it sounds like the closer was installed right in the first place. It sounds like the bracket on the door that attaches the closer was put too far away from the door jamb. If that is soo then it would need to be remounted closer. When I mount the closer, I normally pull it out about an inch to inch and a half then lock it. Then I put it up against the closed door and that is where I put the bracket. I hope that makes sense and I wish you luck on your project.
I am assuming that when you say SO difficult to open that it is much harder to open then other storm doors just like it. Well it could be a couple of things. Your closer could be bad and just not letting you push it open right. Also, you could have too strong of a closer on it. If you have a full glass or mostly glass storm door then you should have a heavy duty closer on it. If it is a very light storm door with a thin aluminum frame and a small window then a regular closer should be used. But, it is more likely that the closer has gone bad and you just need to swap it out. And that is easy to do, because for the most part they are a universal part and all you have to do is take the pins out of the one that you have and put the new one in. Here is an Amazon link for some closers. Here is the heavy duty closer, which would be used on most newer doors. www.amazon.com/Wright-Products-V150WH-PNEUMATIC-CLOSER/dp/B0009YDHJ8?crid=115Q4MTT6RBB5&keywords=storm%2Bdoor%2Bcloser&qid=1655479128&sprefix=storm%2Bdoor%2Caps%2C107&sr=8-5&th=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=greatwhitenin-20&linkId=a5f8e2e718c4f4ef85f52f55871e039b&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl And then here is the standard opener www.amazon.com/Wright-Products-V820AWH-Pneumatic-Closer/dp/B000BD6EH4?crid=115Q4MTT6RBB5&keywords=storm%2Bdoor%2Bcloser&qid=1655479439&sprefix=storm%2Bdoor%2Caps%2C107&sr=8-6&th=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=greatwhitenin-20&linkId=5c47e7300d5b4239a1d109969fb77d27&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl Hope that helps.
@@AroundTheHome1 Brand new closers that came with new door. Full glass door. I had the installers back out three times and it still is difficult to push open.
@@AroundTheHome1 Yes. We have the same door on the front and it is fine. So strange. I have even measured the placement of the closers and they are the same.
@Barbara Bartling one more idea. And I am trying my best since I am not there. Since you have the same door on the front, why don't you for the heck of it take the closer / closers off the front door and put them on the back door. If it is still hard to open with the different closer, then at least we can cross that off the list. Right now I think we just have to go down the list and start eliminating things. If it is easier to open with the closers from the front door, then you got a defective closer. If it is still hard to open, then I would suggest next to take them off and see how hard it is to open with no closers on the door. If it is hard to open at all with no closers, then I would think that the hinges are binding. Let me know what you find out.
You might be able to adjust the brackets and give yourself more opening room without re-drilling. It would help if I had some pics. If you go to my website and fill out the contact submission then after that I can receive pics. www.aroundthehome.org/

Well, I will be honest. The older ones were a pain in the butt to install. Not something that I would suggest to a beginner or even a mid level diy'er. Now the new Larson brand storm doors have made some very impressive updates on how they are installed and make it possible for a beginner diy'er. Now as long as your door jam is square, you should have no problems with the install. If it is not square, you will need to do some shimming and that does make it a little more of an intermediate diy'er project. Good luck and feel free to ask more questions.
@@AroundTheHome1 ok- awesome! I think the ones at Home Depot are Anderson brand, but our front door is in need! We’re in Oklahoma and the wind alone is coming thru our door and getting our new door wet.
Anytime. I'm not familiar with the installation process for the Anderson storm doors. So, it could be similar or it could be more like the old way. Something to take into consideration. Around here, Lowe's carries the Larson doors.
WD-40 is not a lubricant. You first need to determine what part of the door is making noise. Hinges? Pneumatic closers? Once you do that you can choose the correct lubricant for that. Graphite, white lithium grease, oil, etc.
I just wanted to know how to adjust my Larson storm door so there's not a gap in the top where rain comes in. This video was not the video I was looking for. You should edit the title to be "Adjusting A Storm Door Closer" so people know what they are about to watch. I feel like I wasted my time (just like I'm wasting my time writing this comment).
Do you have two closers or just one? If you have two then you need to try and adjust them together. When you said really fast then really slowwwwww, is that from your adjustments or is the closer doing this on it's own?
Only one closure at the bottom. I adjusted when it was closing to fast and after a few adjustments it worked fine, now it by itself is closing so slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww and I tried again with the screw adjustment and nothing works
Ok, thanks for the clarification. It sounds like your closer has worn out. I would suggest getting a new one. They are not very expensive and easy to change out. You don't even have to replace the brackets. Just lock the closer open, then pop the pins out. They all start out, closing way to fast, then slow down. I want a closure that starts of slow, so it does catch you in the door way. Seems like, nobody has one that starts the Right way anymore,. Shame.
My screen door started slamming progressively more over the past few weeks/months. I thought my air cylinder needed replacing. With your instruction and 20 seconds later, I adjusted the screw at the end of the cylinder and now the door closes smoothly and no longer slams.
Excellent explanation and demonstration. Thank you!

Thanks for any help you can give me.

i have a situation where i'd like the storm door to open a bit wider. it's a new install Provia, and is at about 80-85 degrees. really need it to have a wider open range of around 90-95 degrees. any advice on accomplishing that?
My storm door doesn't have that hinge at the top.
I have the same problem. Did you find the solution?
perfect. thx!
Glad that I could help.

Can you tell me how to adjust the door. It it catching now at the top of the frame and not closing.
Do you know how to adjust the door when it starts to catch on the frame due to weather cooling off?
That's hard to try and describe. If the door is catching do to the changing of the seasons, then there is not enough clearance. It also depends if it is only catching at the top or bottom or if the whole side is catching. Put simply, the frame for the storm door needs to be adjusted to give more clearance. Possible, if it was installed with shims on one side, then it would need to be taken down and re-shimmed. Either way, it normally requires part of the frame to be taken down and re-adjusted. Thank you for watching. Check out hundreds more of our videos at www.aroundthehome.org
Mine doesn’t latch and it’s off at the top aswell so it looks wonky what I mean is there is a gap at top. Any suggestions
I clicked on for adjusting a sagging screen door, but still helpful. I dont suppose you have a video for that?
I don't, sorry. If it is sagging, then the top of the hinge needs to be pulled in more. Do you know if you have shims inside the hinge flange?
Thanks!

I need to know specifically or I will tell you the wrong way to fix it.

how do you work the bottom closer latch?
Are you talking about adjusting the closing speed or using the extender lock?
No my friend's bottom closer is stuck open.

@@AroundTheHome1 I have two closures. The storm door doesn’t open all the way there is too much force. I’m gonna rehang the top one again n not have closure opened a little while attaching hinge
I made mine as slow as possible, and even still, the last 4 inches suddenly release and the door slams shut.
What if the latch is sticking out and will not close? It is sitting on the frame. It used to close fine.
Sounds like the latch has come loose and needs to be tightened.

Not all closers have an adjusting screw.
Our door doesn't open all the way only 45 degrees, how can we fix that?
My storm door is stuck at the top after being closed and am not able to open the door. Can you help me solve it?
How many closers does it have? One or two?
How do you fix a storm door that is SO difficult to push open?
Here is the heavy duty closer, which would be used on most newer doors. www.amazon.com/Wright-Products-V150WH-PNEUMATIC-CLOSER/dp/B0009YDHJ8?crid=115Q4MTT6RBB5&keywords=storm%2Bdoor%2Bcloser&qid=1655479128&sprefix=storm%2Bdoor%2Caps%2C107&sr=8-5&th=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=greatwhitenin-20&linkId=a5f8e2e718c4f4ef85f52f55871e039b&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
And then here is the standard opener www.amazon.com/Wright-Products-V820AWH-Pneumatic-Closer/dp/B000BD6EH4?crid=115Q4MTT6RBB5&keywords=storm%2Bdoor%2Bcloser&qid=1655479439&sprefix=storm%2Bdoor%2Caps%2C107&sr=8-6&th=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=greatwhitenin-20&linkId=5c47e7300d5b4239a1d109969fb77d27&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl

@@AroundTheHome1 Brand new closers that came with new door. Full glass door. I had the installers back out three times and it still is difficult to push open.
@Barbara Bartling, is it more difficult to open then other storm doors just like it?
Installer has door only open 70 degrees. HELP.
You might be able to adjust the brackets and give yourself more opening room without re-drilling. It would help if I had some pics. If you go to my website and fill out the contact submission then after that I can receive pics. www.aroundthehome.org/

Interesting. My plunger doesn’t have a screw at the end.
That is interesting. Everyone that I have worked with has an adjustment screw. Is yours older or brand new? Thanks for watching and don't forget to stop by our website for many more helpful videos. www.greatwhiteninja.com
It’s a brand new security door. It won’t completely close by itself. There is no screw on it anywhere. Weird.
So, it's not a residential Larson door or something similar?
i did this and even made it all the way tight and it still slames shut
That most likely means that the closer has failed and needs to be replaced. Here is a link for a standard closer. www.amazon.com/Wright-ProductsV920WH-STANDARD-PNEUMATIC-CLOSER/dp/B000LNPND0?dchild=1&keywords=storm+door+closer&qid=1621127300&sr=8-6&linkCode=ll1&tag=greatwhitenin-20&linkId=b7d5dc565c255a266fa83b640b700e74&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
And here is a link if you have a heavier all glass door that needs two heavy duty closers. www.amazon.com/Touch-Hold-Smooth-security-Replacement/dp/B0058JLBEW?dchild=1&keywords=storm+door+closer&qid=1621127408&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzUko1UkhCMUlUOVkwJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNDg2MTk4M1Y4RVhRWVpZSkNVTCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMDgwMDgwMllRT09VSDcwSk1WTCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU%3D&linkCode=ll1&tag=greatwhitenin-20&linkId=8916318c49140482f172b77188cc1a2d&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
Mine will close half way super fast then go slower and not latch all the way, never thought a door would be this annoying 😂
Sounds like you have a defective closer. Probably needs replacing. www.amazon.com/Wright-Products-V150WH-PNEUMATIC-CLOSER/dp/B0009YDHJ8?crid=17FZ8W1LACRTM&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.ts0tbGUNomQstE_b5eN7jvTNPdk1-DAfPbANGr_aX3221PXi57vh__vGVdVwYcG7thSr9r7O-DTv8g9Kh04FQsvRsvnIkKQdg9YT54M1psauaISokN9kr1fj7skCsPVzN42iEhUYkQYlq2w0Ri0eGO5q6J2mMCZXdtv0Lv3SB1F2PA2toXTcx9yqZEE9QhW3Oq9So5JahfoNB_86jGfN1LMSNc1RuCVepqH8dm0nlAZvH9nmDH-UaRAcdILJzuR9Y9UAkquoEo2woyK45FPCDEvbLmPzAuKCBXNCwgnYkHE.dkO7iYqHRBFn0aKOSserSdxwusj68KaRV4bxcpAk6Kw&dib_tag=se&keywords=storm%2Bdoor%2Bcloser&qid=1715125379&sprefix=storm%2Bdo%2Caps%2C140&sr=8-5&th=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=greatwhitenin-20&linkId=80aa0eb8f920252c42b53820592f75a0&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
Was the door easy to install with a beginner diy?
@@AroundTheHome1 thanks tons! We aren’t lowes fans lol so we hit up the depot
i HAVE THE same door.
It's a good door
How do I stop the Squeak??? Please for the love of god someone help me Ive tried WD40. Lol
Where did you apply the WD40?
WD-40 is not a lubricant.
You first need to determine what part of the door is making noise. Hinges? Pneumatic closers?
Once you do that you can choose the correct lubricant for that. Graphite, white lithium grease, oil, etc.
Close the main door then see if it latches
just as it should

I just wanted to know how to adjust my Larson storm door so there's not a gap in the top where rain comes in. This video was not the video I was looking for. You should edit the title to be "Adjusting A Storm Door Closer" so people know what they are about to watch. I feel like I wasted my time (just like I'm wasting my time writing this comment).
Just like I am wasting my time writing this response.
great info

At first all fine, then it started to close really fast and now it is slowwwwwwwwwwwww and nothing is working, HELP
Here is an Amazon link for a replacement. www.amazon.com/Ideal-Security-SK1730-Pneumatic-Diameter/dp/B005TE6UQU/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1539693458&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=storm+door+closer&psc=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=greatwhitenin-20&linkId=bc77b27e2234e05e43b3250dfe6632ea&language=en_US
Worn out, the door is only 2 months old?
Maybe I should call Larson and tell them? Even though the closures are cheap, seems odd in 2 mths it is worn out
Door handle is upside down
They all start out, closing way to fast, then slow down. I want a closure that starts of slow, so it does catch you in the door way. Seems like, nobody has one that starts the Right way anymore,. Shame.
My door has pins not screws 🤦🏻♂️
You don't have adjustment screws on the closers?
Worsed brick job ever 🤦♂️
