Wonderful content man. You are truly furthering His kingdom with this channel.
one word....Wooooooww!!!!! did not expect that voice from you...
thanks
Best tutorial video I have see!!
@DrummerIC The tuning is explained in the video. The guitar is D-tuned. You have to watch it through to hear about the tuning (it is explained starting at 1:40). D-tuned means that instead of the standard tuning of EADGBE, the strings are tuned DADGBE. If you are new to guitar, this is the tuning of each string from the low E string (the big fat string at the top of your set of strings, which in this case is tuned to D) to the high E string (which is the thinnest string with the highest pitch).
you have a great singing voice!!!!!!!
Thanks for the post, it sounds great, you have a great voice as well. Ciao fro Italy, SSgt. Hewitt/USMC
thnks a lot!! planning to learn this song to play in for special music for a service soon!! thnks a lot and God bless!!
its a good song..
Wow I didn't expect that voice... Good job!!
@TheJaychristine The guitar is a McPherson Indian Rosewood 3.5.
The strum is demonstrated in the video, but to help people out I have added a written out strum pattern on the original blog page for my guitar stuff. (click on the link in the video description)
great job….thanks!
realy appreciate the work your doing. I am a relativly new worship leader at my church and need all the help i can get lol
@kimgentes yeah i heard it idk why i asked u. lol but awesome i learned this song in a day :) thanks for the video! i know how to tune it down now! :D
Thank you so much!!! :)
Thanks for the tutorial, really enjoyed it, is that a McPherson?
I believe he used GADGAD tuning as he doesn't play the 2nd string on the 3rd fret as you are. And DADGAD gives it even a more rich sound as Steven Curtis Chapman does on a lot of his open tuning songs. Try tuning it to them let me know what you think.
@ChristianProgrammer1 You are right.. ya, this would make it even closer to the original.. not sure how I missed that. the high E sounds not quite perfect when left in normal tuning.. but in DADGAD it drones right along with the other notes.. I should have seen that. everything would stay same, but that string change would make it good.
and the same for A7sus4/E that chord sounds better without the finger in the second string, course using DADGAD tuning wich is the original tuning for this song..
Yes, the high E, needs to be D also, but it's not DADGAD. The second string doesn't get dropped to A ,it stays B, so it's DADGBD.
i cant get the strumming
Seen.
Thanks for the vid, but, for those of you who include this in you worship set, drop D is a little difficult to play in every song. I mean, who wants to retune during the set? So, It's easier and really sounds good if you just play Em, ( I think) G5- 3,2,x,x,3,3, and D2.
whats the tuning for each string
whats the tunning?
Great Teaching, but I need to know the strumming pattern. Also what is the make of your guitar?
Thanks
check the link in the video description for the strumming pattern... my guitar is a mcPherson
What's the strum pattern
+MERMAIDSROCK1000 I demonstrate the pattern in the video. Also you can get a PDF download and see the staffed strum pattern at the webpage linked in the video details at bit.ly/qOYQsS
I think that the chords also change a little bit! for instance the D2 chord would be without the finger in the second string :) blessings bro bye
it is not d2. it is in f...
capo makes it harder
I never said it was in D.. The chords are in D form when you use a capo on the third fret. The chords listed in the video are the open form chords, as they are labeled in their open positions. This is how everyone labels chords , even when they are played higher up on a fretboard when capoed. The original artists uses a capo on this song to get the tone he is looking for.
I always call it the chord but also the formation... I'm sorry
You do a great job
Good point. I should have used the word "form" or "Formation" to clarify.
@Ahnyo it explains the tuning in the video. It is D-tuned. You have to watch it through to hear about the tuning (it is explained starting at 1:40)
@TLLeatherworks most welcome. glad it is helpful.
@thomasnodoubt1 glad you are finding the videos helpful..
Rigoberto... the strumming pattern is demonstrated on the video, but I wrote it in staffed form as well on my blog so you can see the precise musical timing..[ go to additional details information under the video .. it has a link in it that points you to my blog where I show the musical staff with timing info]
@PubRat13 yes, it is a mcPherson
