    Just saw him for the first time this weekend at a small show. Someone mentioned I should check out his wife. I'm blown away. It's beautiful to see 2 people so naturally and unpretentiously sharing their gift.

    WOW! I've been involved in worship music since the 70s and all I can say is I'm an instant fan and I've never even heard of you guys until today. This is the way worship music should be... man expressing the purity of God through the purity of his art!

    ninoboy213...I think you may be talking about when he moves between the third fret on the second string to the second fret on the second string. Effectively, he goes from a D2 to an A\D - if that's the part to which you refer

    i had to watch his fingers over and over, and i love this song but sir michael could take a guitar teaching class or two, :) but patience and a willingness to look at his left and right hand go very far!

    That g chord hes talking about is 6th string (low d) 5th fret w/ring finger,mute the 5th string w/that finger,4thstring (high d) open,3rd string 4th fret, then 2nd string 3rd fret.
    The pinky add on is on the 3rd string 6th fret.
    The bridge w/the girl harmony is D, Dmaj7/C# ,Bminor, then back to D.
    The instrumental fill where hes sliding all over the place I just do a 2note octave thing.
    D-F#-D-C#-F#-C#-B-C#-G-F#
    That fills in the parts he didnt cover so we can all bless others with the en

    One last thing-the D augmented chord he plays before the g in the second go around for the chorus is just like a regular D chord except 3rd string (G) instead of fretting 2nd fret you fret the 3rd fret

    @sampide haha yeah I do, it's awesome that you and sasabsabrina play it too! I play it at church occasionally, whenever the songs we play for worship warrant the tinkly gorgeousness of a glockenspiel.
    It's great to know there are other people out there who play glockenspiel for worship! :D

    @ninoboy213
    We all have bad days - I'm just givin' you a hard time. But on the real, Gungor's song rocks, it's a good one to learn, and if you watch his fingers, you'll be able to figure it out quicker than asking keyboard theory-warriors on CZcams. Plus you'll be playing it in less time, and enjoying it more. That's all. :-)

  • @joshformanunited

  • @juse1101
    @juse1101 Před 14 lety

    @ninoboy213 Nah - You're not being a jerk. It's all good. And asking for help is a great start. But for real, it's straight forward. I remember learning my first song by ear/watching intently at a Third Day concert, and Mac Powell plays right-handed, so I had to mentally switch everything when I was screwing around at home trying to figure it out (Oh yeah...I watched the concert, THEN went home and tried on guitar). Welcome to learning "Em-C-G-D" by ear/sight with no chart.

    "Those who are courageous can jump up that octave if they'd like." hahah so funny really great tutorial gonna do my best to be able to play this like a song rather than just hitting the notes correct super slow lol

  • @juse1101
    @juse1101 Před 14 lety

    @ninoboy213
    Step 1) Close mouth/stop typing
    Step 2) Open eyes + Watch intently
    Step 3) Use pause/rewind with reckless abandon
    Step 4) Use ears to listen
    Result: You'll probably be 10x better at playing by ear, PLUS you'll have the confidence and skill of having figured it out instead of asking for it on proverbial silver platter.
    Not that I'm trying to be a prick - It's all good to ask, but you should try it out first. Drop-D is pretty straight forward, even if you're newbie.

  • @TimHolley
    @TimHolley Před 12 lety

    It's just a regular A chord..he's just using his one finger to bar it. if you don't know what an A chord is, it's just the 2nd fret of your D, G, and B strings pressed down

    yeah, how dare he put an augmented chord in a song about God, how dare he do anything that is different in a worship song. because worship songs MUST sound all the same, predictable and easy.
