  • (đŸ“č 6/2/2024) Here are some patently awful Otis elevators at The Home Depot in Merrifield VA. These things are clearly not maintained to the slightest extent. One of the cars is missing a fluorescent bulb. The cabs are dirty and trashy. The phone box doors are either damaged or missing completely, which also sounds lovely. They also make awful screeching sounds too. At least they aren't low on oil like I was anticipating. The right car levels quite quickly though. These do have interesting floor passing chimes that I heard one other time, being the funicular elevator at the San Diego Convention Center. The door operators are clearly replaced with AT400 linear operators. For some reason, Google says that this is in Fairfax, but it's clearly in Merrifield, even the public records I researched on this place say Merrifield.

That's the same floor passing "bing" that sears seven corners used to have. The call recognition "bip" is so funny!

The only other place I've heard that in person was the funicular elevator at the San Diego Convention Center
