WORLD CUP #7 DRAMA - 1st in Quali, 1st in Semi and crash in Finals

- Crashed out in the American round and the suspens remains for the World Cup
Last weekend was the second to last World Cup of the season.
A lot on the line as the overall standing was super tight.
I’m Always happy to come over seas and race in front of a rad crowd, the track there was so tough as it’s a hard mix of technical, physical and unpredictable.
I was relieved to have some sun on the last days of the week and I was feeling solid for another good race.
Up until the last run, I was the fastest in practice, qualifying and semi finals. I tried to capitalise on the finals towards the overall and fully binned it in one of the last rock sections…
Really hard pill to swallow as my main competitors didn’t score big points and I could have made a really comfortable gap going into the last race of the season but it is what it is.
My mistake and my own responsability.
It could have been a season ender so I’m glad I could walk away, in a bad shape, but walk away.
Another good day racing wise as the young Irish guys put up a great show going 1-2 for the first time ever in the history. Things I like to see.
For now, I’m Trying as much as I can to recover for the last race and be 100%. It’s going to be really difficult but I’ll give it my best shot.

I'm from west virginia and your my favorite rider. I was at the race I stood beside you before your semi run but I didn't want to bother you but it was still cool to see you and your bike in person. I was so sad to see that you crashed after a very fast day of riding.

As one of the crazy Americans in white at 6:15 let me say that we love seeing all of the world’s best riders. France has something really special going on right now and it is so much fun to watch. Fingers crossed snowshoe is in the series next year and we get to see you put down a complete finals run!
Americans like you because you are a great Champion - not just in the racing, but the way you carry yourself and care for your teammates and fellow racers - even before nation, that was matters - we love a good winner. Really sorry to see you crash, glad you are OK and cant wait to see what happens in MSA between all the top guys. Good luck to you.

glad your okay man that is a bad place to go down. Been having a lot of bad luck in finals this year but maybe MSA might turn it around for you. Also that is the sickest redbull helmet design I have seen yet, Looks really good.

C'est dommage, c'était une super course jusqu'au crash - la limite entre le succès et l'échec est souvent sur le fil du rasoir. Ton état d'esprit est génial : analyser avec une grande acuité, tirer les leçons et aller de l'avant... Pour la Coupe du monde, ça va encore être passionnant, je te souhaite le meilleur ! Good race !

I was a great event. I saw many people struggle through those lower rock gardens during both practice and race day. The margin for error was razor thin
