    ⚡ 💀 💕
The neck brace (or neck corset) is a tribute to Yoshiki, the drummer/pianist/songwriter from the hugely influential Japanese Metal/Visual Kei group X-Japan.
He injured his neck from too much extreme headbanging, and had to wear a brace to try and prevent further damage.
There are a lot of references to X-Japan in BABYMETAL lyrics, music and stage performances.
The supporting dancer at the last 25 BABYMETAL appearances has been Momoko, including all 10 of the 2021 concerts at Nippon Budokan.
After the final Budokan concert, she was a contestant on the KPop Idol survival show Girls Planet 999, although her group didn't make it into the finals.
Of course no one knows what BABYMETAL will look like on stage once they are "unsealed" in the future, or what kind of supporting dancers Su and Moa might have when they return.

@@autohmae She does have the most experience as an avenger, and the most open schedule, as far as we know.
Although the BABYMETAL team might prefer to bring on some newcomers, just to make it clear that the supporting dancers aren't "BABYMETAL" like Su and Moa are.

Couple additional things to say. First it has not been said officially but i had heard in the beginning when the girls were told about the devil sign they didn't understand and they did the fox sign instead. I can imagine that is how the fox theme began since they wanted to be different than others. Second thing is. Babymetal does not get credit for this but i think they should. You heard one of the reasons for Babymetal was to jump start the metal scene in Japan. If you look at the scene now it is so strong. Babymetal came along and kicked the door and the stereotypes down. Because they knocked the door down many other bands got their shot.
Lovebites, Band-Maid, and so many more that may not have given a chance earlier. Also many have tried what Babymetal is and have all failed to come close to Babymetal. Nobody knew who The Hu was until Babymetal had yhem open for them in 2019 in northwest US. And it can be said BMTH was helped with touring with them on 2019 and with having the best collab of two bands with Kingslayer.

Well written. I’m in total agreement and wanted to express your opinion, but…. I really enjoy those other groups and yes they are all friends, or at least respectful of each other. I could give more detail, but…. Frankly, they are closer from my limited knowledge than most of the other fan bases will admit. They compliment each other and are in zero way, shape, or form rivals. They all have different sounds, and all give respect to BM for revitalizing the Metal genre in some form. Yes BM is older than the other three groups, which I love.

When we say "The Fox Hole" it's the LORE that we're talking about. It can get confusing and contradictory. A good chunk of what came out in 2018 was made up on the fly -- so it seems. Do not try to make sense of The LORE. It doesn't make sense. Like Koba says, "No thinking, just buying."
Now, anything about a new album later this year is speculation. Stories about a return to touring is speculation. If you hear that Yui is coming back, it's speculation. Anything that you HEAR is speculation until it actually happens. And even when it does happen, don't believe it if you didn't see it yourself. That's how cryptic this stuff gets.
Now, go find the Tokyo Dome 2016 shows and watch them. Both nights.

Well cousin, thank you for finishing the guide. I understand there is a wealth of information that is hard to grasp on one listening, but fortunately I’ve watched it close to 100 times. I will not attempt to impart knowledge as there are many fans that are far more knowledgeable than me. However, if you are interested in the group and want to learn more of their beginnings I would definitely suggest you dive into Sakura Gakuin (SG). No it’s not metal, but more Japanese Idol culture. Still, it is how they were formed and you can add another 30+ songs to your reactions. Just an opinion, and I hope I don’t upset anyone.
By the way most of my support for group stems from their growth period; especially in SG. That’s not any indication of how amazing they re today.
PS- Here’s an off the wall fan compilation, that doesn’t include any BM music (Bryan Adam’s). It is simply a fan video attempting (accurately) to describe the relationship behind Su-Metal and Moametal. You’ll understand more if you dive into SG. Now I really do apologize.

A great way to finish off the guide. The lore is a real head spin but it is just done to make the band more interesting, and I suspect to give people something to talk about so that their privacy is better guarded. It's pretty cool though.
I hope you can remember the girls names now hahaha.

  • @road-runner
    @road-runner Před 2 lety +4

Yeah, that was a ton of info condensed in one video. I believe you got the basics covered. But don't worry about the lore. I don't even understand some parts, specially from the "dark side" which I actively tend to avoid (I know it's unfair and I need to fix it soon).
They have been publishing snippets from what it looks like new songs for the last few months in a sort of "restoration" that eventually will complete soon or later. But we have no clue what will happen next (hopefully a new album release).
Remember that Yui's birthday is on June 20th. And we will never left her behind. 😊

7:05 He literally was talking about Gimme Chocolate! so no, it wasn't Headbanger!! 😆
Sonisphere Festival 2014 was attended by 60K people, Tokyo Dome 2016 is their larger show with 55K fans both nights.
BM lore can put Tolkien to a shame.
KobaMetal released a book last year talking about their live performance over these 10 years called "10 BABYMETAL Legends".
He said he was inspired a lot by japanese metal band called Seikima-ii, if you look about them you'll see bunch of similarities and they're living legend like X-Japan.
I might take it back a little about my statement saying BM isn't related to any anime series since I remember they used to implement a lot of Evangelion anime series on their early shows, specially on Legend 1997, they even performed two songs covers from that anime.
Also another "related" -not related- with this subject is the song "Kimi To *Anime* Ga Mitai" although isn't about a specific anime show, recommend of course, just be careful with heavy blocked.
We're currently about 22% of the "restoration project" completed, so my guess is by October probably we're gonna have some news for a single or an album, who knows? OTFGK
If you want to do something special for upcoming YuiMetal and MoaMetal birthday you can watch some of their Black Babymetal songs or unique covers during Legend 1999 celebrating their birthday, you got "Chokotto Love" by YuiMetal and "Love Machine" by MoaMetal.
Thanks for sharing this and keep digging the Foxhole 🦊🤘

There is so much information, it is not easy for a beginner to remember the names and faces of three girls! Especially being able to tell Yui and Moa apart is really hard. I think from 2013 (Legend 1997 concert) to 2016 (Tokyo Dome concert), Yui and Moa look so much alike, it's so hard to tell them apart when they dance!

I remember the early days when I couldn't tell Yui from Moa. It was a simpler life then. . .
Here's a tip: Check the gloved hands. Typically, MOA wears a glove on her left hand, and Yui has a glove on her right. That's the quickest way to tell them apart until you learn to recognize them through their body language and other physical differences.
