Thank you for your honesty and insight. Many of the bars scattered throughout SE Asia were started by our ex-military and retirees who went back and settled there. I, personally, achieved my "manhood" with the help of an older female bartender in the Philippines, 50+ yrs ago. They just have a different attitude about sex. @@titogee36 Depends on your lifestyle. You could blow through well over $1,000 per week if you drink a lot every night, eat at the best restaurants, sleep with at least 1 lady per day, ride in taxis, and travel around the area/pay for tours.
If you're frugal and eat where regular Thais eat, don't drink much, use public transportation where available, and don't partake in the ladies, $200 per week would be safe without having to rough it. Everything is cheap, but transportation, bottled water, and food can add up, not to mention having a little extra for souvenirs, entrance fees, and any emergencies. I always just plan on taking $1,000 per week just so I never have to worry about running out of money or having an emergency, and I like to enjoy myself to the fullest while I'm there, but you could still have a great time with much less.
(Both estimates assume flights and a hotel are already paid for).
Went to the Wood Bar on 7/1, walked by a few days but never saw anyone of my liking. On my last day I saw a lady on her first day, a lovely freelancer. it was a surreal experience, we exchanged numbers and met up again later that day..

Back in the 80’s in the Philippines there were two BJ bars one was called super head and one was called mega head this is an Angeles city outside Clark airbase. They were awesome.

The Nipa Hut on MacArthur highway was a crazy place too. They would drag guys on stage and do some live stuff. Girls cut up bananas with their vageen and guys would eat the banana pieces. The girls picked up pesos stacked up on San Miguel beer bottles with their virginias too. Good times for me when I was 19 🎉🥳😁

The Nipa Hut was great for taking friends that were visiting. Very touristy. The real treat was beside it: Blow Row (McArthur Highway.) Bars like the Fire Empire and Hard Rock Cafe were great BJ bars where the girls would give out free samples if you asked. They would take you in the back room and blow you for 60-90 seconds, trying to get you to take them short time. Friends used to have competition to see how many samples that they could get before they caved and paid. Worth mentioning is the Green Frog Cafe, real close to The Nipa Hut. They had a couple little people that worked there for those that wanted something a little different and that didn't want to make the 2 hour trip to The Hobbit House in Manila. Unfortunately, October 28, 1987 marked an end to all those bars. NPA Insurgents attacked and killed 3 US GIs and the resultant base lockdown caused all the bars to move closer to the base, where they remain to this day. Very few short time bars remain but a few still do. Someone above mentioned Super Head and Mega Head. Those were BJ bars that moved closer to the base.
In the 80's, a short time in the Philippines was $8-10. If you wanted a barfine (all night) it could cost you as much as $25-30. Now, there are few short time bars left and a barfine can cost you $200+ a night. Much better to get a good massage with a happy ending for $20-25. But then again, I'm an old man (mid-60s) and like to have my sex and then go about my business. For a younger man, you can get a great "girlfriend experience" if you want.

Not true at all. You guys aren't very experienced. I've been going to BJ bars in Thailand and The Philippines since the 80s. I've probably had over 1000 BJs, using bar girls and girlfriends and a wife. Some BJs are better than others but I've only had a very few that I'd call a bad one.
Most bars in both countries are either BJ bars, short-time bars (visit a room in back for a short period) or a barfine bar (all night.)

Back in the early 80's when i was in the US Navy our ship pulled into port in the Philippines and there was a bar in town called Smiles. Soi 7/1 is a small street next to the Nana BTS stop. It has quite a few beer bars with girls available, one or two ladyboy bars, some full service massage shops, one soapy massage parlor, and one BJ bar. It also has a few hotels, several restaurants, a hair salon, etc.. I can recommend the Atlas hotel. Convenient location, affordable, and laundry directly across the street.
Wood Bar is the only true BJ bar on this street, but she may have seen the other beer bars surrounding it and assumed they were also BJ bars. In actuality, these other bars offer the full shebang with the lady of your choice, not just BJs.
It's possible that she's talking about a totally different street that is filled with BJ bars (maybe 1-3 stops farther east on the BTS line), but Soi 7/1 seems like a likely candidate.

I highly recommend getting a foot massage, a Thai massage, and a regular massage. I can't even count how many foot massages we got because there were so many. Surprisingly, I only got my first Thai massage at the end of my trip. I was always a little bit nervous to get one because you hear things like it's super painful, they bend you and fold you like a pretzel, and so on.
But I decided to give it a try and, oh my God, it was the best massage I've ever had in my entire life. It wasn't painful. It felt so good and was so releasing and relaxing. It was incredible. So yes, I definitely recommend the Thai massage.
I also confirm that many of the places are very clean, and everyone who works there is very nice, except for the occasional place that maybe isn't so great, like in my previous unsolicited massage video. So yeah! Thanks for bringing up those points.🤗
