Jorge Masvidal (born November 12, 1984) is a Cuban American mixed martial artist competing in the UFC's welterweight division. He is the current and inaugural UFC BMF Champion. A professional since 2003, he has also competed for Bellator, Strikeforce, Shark Fights, and World Victory Road. He holds the record for the fastest knockout in UFC history, at 5 seconds. As of July 8, 2019, he is #3 in the UFC welterweight rankings.
Masvidal faced Nate Diaz on November 2, 2019 in the main event at UFC 244. In a unique situation, UFC President Dana White confirmed that the headlining bout was for a celebratory (‘BMF’) belt. Masvidal won the fight via technical knockout via doctor stoppage between rounds three and four when the cageside physician determined a cut over Diaz's right eye rendered him unable to continue. - Wikipedia - Sport

Him and Izzy..they both had phenomenal years and a bunch of legendary fights for the both of them.

Jorge was whoopin ass but but he was starting to stall nate on the fence. With almost half the fight left you never know what coulda happened but if Jorge couldn't get him out with full power in the first few rounds he wasn't gonna get the KO

Ask chael Sonnen when he dominated prime Anderson Silva for 24minutes and with 55 seconds left gets Caught in a triangle. Or just last year when yair Rodriguez was losing every second of his fight against Korean Zombie and WITH 1 SECOND LEFT hits him with an up elbow. Orrr how about Derrick Lewis against Volcov when with 11 seconds left Lewis KO'd him after losing the whole fight. Miss me with all that bullshit. There was still almost half a fight left
@Zac Lodro all those fights a just mentioned momentum was against them to. Watch today's morning Kombat. Jorge was starting to slow down in the 3rd. He was starting to stall nate on the cage. Only natural when your throwing huge shots like that. Obv he looked great but Nate is notorious for slow starts and pouring it on in later rounds. The cards were all 10-9 to. They released them so with almost half the fight left it could have went either way
@@thedonofthsht76-58 Him controlling Nate on the fence isn't an argument for Nate winning that fight in the later rounds. It just means that even if Masvidal needed to take a breather he could just big brother him up against the fence to do so.
Obviously we can't know for sure, but it just seemed like he was fighting tactically. He obviously knew his fighting style is a lot more explosive than Nate's so he didn't want to gas himself out going for the finish.
He controlled literally every element of the fight. The standup, the clinch and on the ground. Nate coming on and taking over in the 4-5 rounds was not impossible, but highly unlikely.
Also, look at Masvidal after the end of the 3rd round. He's barely breathing heavily. Also, when they called off the fight you can see from the way he's able to talk completely normally, without having to pause to take in deep breaths, that he just isn't showing any signs of a fighter on the verge of gassing out.
Also, Nate had eaten a tonne of vicious body shots throughout the fight. He was 100% feeling those going into the fourth.
And Nate's gas tank isn't bottomless. We saw him slow down in the fourth against Mcgregor of all people. Granted, he had thrown more shots up until that point, but he hadn't eaten anywhere close to as vicious shots as he did in these three rounds with Masvidal.
One last thing, Masival hasn't been TKOed since 2008 (which was a ridiculously early stoppage in itself), and Nate is not known for his one punch knockout power in the slightest. So, that chance that one of the lightest punchers in the division would be able to finish someone who's never been KOed seems pretty darn unlikely to be fair.

I like Diaz but for a guy who was competing for the BMF title, he sure does have a very "woe is me" attitude when he doesn't get his way.
It's crazy. There's just two sides to the guy, one I'm 100% on board with, the other I just cannot get behind.
Nate was basically exiled for 3 years because Dana refused to pay him or give him a good fight that would result in something positive from his career. He was denied his trilogy with Conor even tho that should have been a done deal years ago. Now he comes back, sells out a stadium against Pettis that he didn’t headline. Calls out Jorge and basically talks this match and this BMF belt into existence himself. UFC has screwed Nate and his brother so many times after Nate has made them millions and millions of dollars, and also put Jorge and Conor as over the top Superstars!!! Let’s be honest the way Dana was talking even after Jorge and Nate both agreed to run it back, Nate has every reason to be mad and upset, and he even genuinely sounded upset in a interview with Brett after the fight saying “these foos never give me a rematch” and then dabbed up Brett and ended the interview. It’s disappointing that Nate is such a superstar that gets treated the way he does I think he’s justified for feeling and acting the way he does. Unfortunately for Nate although he is a massive sell, and also a dog that can beat anyone on any day, he just isn’t a consistent winner and he cuts way to easily which is exactly why this fight was stopped.
LG3Gaming I agree with a lot of what you said but I can’t stand to hear that Nate made Connor or Jorge superstars. They had no hand in this? Maybe it rings a little more true with Connor because Nate smashed him twice... but cmon Nate didn’t give Jorge ANYTHING. Everyone who’s a fan of this sport was already on board with Masvidal by this point. Connor was already a superstar, but yes Nate did contribute to that for sure. Nothing in this game was promised to Nate, a lot of fighters lose fights and aren’t given a rematch.

I'm super impressed with just how good Jorge's body kicks have become. I think he's got some of the best body kicks in the division. Hes come such a long way. Been a big fan of his for many years.
Masvidals roundhouse is a text-book example of someone trained in kicking through the target instead of at the target. I agree, it is just wonderful to watch, like a cuban buakaw banchamek.

Now if he could develop a nasty head kick that he could throw fluently that will become a game changer! He could set it up so nicely. Like how JJ did DC in their last fight, getting his opponent thinking low with those nasty kicks, get them to lower their guard and get their head lopped off. Hes a true fighter and all round great fighter. Can't wait to see him fight for the belt against Usman Or Covington

I am not a fan of Conor but there is two qualities that he have:
