That's such a cool idea! As a side note, tho, it's mindblowing to me that these kids can already read in English. I mean, they don't look to be older than 5 years old. I'm pointing that out, because as an English Teacher working in Brazil, we have older kids (I'm talking like 7 or even 8 year-olds) here who struggle to read even in their native language, which is Brazilian Portuguese, let alone English. That's mostly because of the pandemic, tho :/ Anyways, it's so interesting to watch videos of ESL teacher working abroad with different groups and cultures and notice the differences and similitaries between each and everyone of them is amazing to me. Which just goes to show that as teachers, we can never say that we already "know-it-all" when it comes to teaching a language. Since every kid is different and we always have to come up with the best strategies to help them all learn. Thank you so much for this vid, keep up the amazing work!
Yeah, this class is very smart. As you probably noticed in the video, they cannot read perfectly, but they are definitely starting to get the hang of it. I've been teaching them for almost 2 years now, so I've had a lot of time to build a foundation, which really helped. We started with very basic 3 letters words and went from there. I appreciate your comment and feedback. I agree, its interesting to see different ESL teachers and different students. Hope your teaching in Brazil is going well. Good luck!
