So far the most part, I’m going to keep my opinions to myself about this episode, so we can focus on the breakdown. There is a lot of good to focus on in this episode, and the finale does have very interesting repercussions for the MCU, sets up new teams, and directly sets up Captain america; Brave New world.
In a couple days we will have a review video out, but in the meantime, let's break this episode down.
The episode begins in the aftermath of priscilla and g;iah fighting off the skrulls in the fury home.
Doug: Oh, that fight where the shape shifting aliens broke in loudly through glass windows?
That’s the one. One of the strongest aspects of this show is the relationship between Nick and Varra. Samuel l Jackson and Charlayne woodard are able to imbue these two with an easy, lived in energy, even though we’re mostly hearing about their relationship, and haven;t seen it develop over other movies and shows.
Fury says [dialed this number a million timeless]. and the episode sheds some light on why Fury went to the space station alone, and din;t bring his wife. Latest on,giah as fury says [i was relieved]. Now, this was giah pretending to be fury, so we don;t know if this is how fury really felt.but it would make sense that he just wanted to put the skrulls behind him-and that would include his wife.
After all, he spent years and years lying to the skrulls, using them.
Doug: But why couldn;t fury find the skrulls at home? Aren't there like, billions of planets in the galaxy?
Well, In this video, we speculated that the reason for that was twofold. One, they needed to find a planet far away from the kree. And two, there would be a lot of anti0 skrull,anti-shaefigint sentiment out in the universe. Think about it-in episode 2, we elated that skrulls were a war-mongering race [clip].
And it's pretty obvious why you woupdn;t want a shape shifting race in your world-they could replace you and take over our world. The skills probably did this for centuries before their disastrous war with the kree.
One cool thing about this show is the focus on Nick fury-wh ois kind of like the mcu’s Batman who has lost his mojo. [fury clip]
Secret Invasion is turning out to be one of my favorite Marvel shows, because it’s so grounded in Nick Fury-who’s kind of like the MCU’s Batman.
Ad ends
Anyways, Fury calls to tell Varra goodbye, as we start to intercut between our two storylines.
One is Gaia's attack on the compound she used to call home, and the other is the hilarious standoff between Fury, ritson, Sonya, and rhodey.
KNowing that it's giah-and not fury-walking to the base hits a little harder. Gia believes in this place, she trained and recruited soldiers for Gravik's war, sso she knows exactly how to breach the defenses. At first she walks by Beto’s corpse, on the same spot where we saw gravik slit his throat last episode. But then the real heartbreaker for giah is that gravik apparently killed all the skrulls that worked for him.
Dioug: why would he do that?
Well, they staged a coup against him-and this shows that gravik never really cared about the skrull people. They were just tools for him to get what he wanted-ultimate power, and revenge on Fury. Giah also knows where the cameras are in the compound, so she’s careful to keep the old man's fury act, stopping to cough and take iodine pills to protect against the radiation.
Back at the most understaffed hospital on the planet, Sonya tells rhodey that fury is closing in. she does this to panic rhodey so he’ll move the president. - Krátké a kreslené filmy

No.
@screenCrush actually lost a ton of respect for you here man. This company is bad news and they have used and abused people to make a buck for years. I would urge you to look into the company you are taking sponserships from, especially when you are shilling this sham of a "therapy" company in the same breath you are saying you have struggled with depression. I am not gonna drop a bunch of links and get this comment banned as spam, but the lawsuits and stories are there to be read, and for someone as inquisitive as you, I hope you do the right thing and dig deeper into your sponsors. Hopefully if I resub again, it will be because you have stopped taking money from scam artists.
Wandavison was not a high bar. It was trash. Its goes from best to worst marvel Disney plus shows:
Loki
Moonknight
Secret invasion
Falcon and winter solder
Hawk eye
Ms marvel
Wandavision
She-hulk
I really think that Fury made a deal with Sonya. She deals with things on the ground, and he will handle the things above.
What if Olivia Coleman is the Kree sleeper spy that Fury/Talos was talking bout
I'm disappointed Talos didn't get more mention in the finale, particularly during Fury's phone call with Ritson. "A good and trusted friend of mine gave his life to save yours yesterday, and you just signed the death warrant for his people." That would have hit so hard.
Fury didnt give AF about Talos and the Skrulls.
Not even ScreenCrush had the budget to have Ryan on screen for the Secret invasion finale😂
for real for real
Maybe his employees/contractors or himself are prt of the current strike. I heard some CZcamsrs are not allowed to do their normal thing while the strikes are going on.
I thought I was losing my mind for a moment.
Ryan must have stayed up late with Doug.
He's been replaced by a Skrull.
The gun scene, to me, was the most realistic part of the whole episode. I mean, who wouldn't be asking for a gun as your entire security detail is being picked off one by one? The most unbelievable thing for me was them scrolling through all the popular superhero powers and mastering them so quickly. Mantis and Drax arent even that well known to earth, so how would she know to say "Sleep" the same way Mantis does?
I agree. It grounded the whole scene. The man just learned that shape-shifting aliens are doing shady stuff and as he's being carted around an empty hospital his detail is being picked off one by one. Yeah, I'd definitely want a gun. Hell, I might go full Rick Grimes.
@@bigkoeshkaThen why bother having security? The whole point is you literally cannot protect yourself because you are wayyy too important to die so leave the weapons to people paid with actual training in knowledge with weapons to do their job. Literally the worse thing you can do is allow the person you are securing use a gun they have no clue to use.
Skrulls can access recent memories of those they replicate
@@dewolf123 I don't think training and or protocol accounts for shape shifting aliens that, by essence, you cannot train or have protocol for. I'd want the biggest gun around in MY hands
@leftwingrightwing6870 Yea you have a good point there, guess the government is gonna have add that in the bodyguard training manual. Rule 101: Beware of green aliens with the power of shape-shifting. Lmao 🤣
What annoyed me most about the ritson scene was that Sonya could have just shot the Rhodey skrull like she did with the MI6 president to force her to reveal the skrull skin. I mean she literally knows that's effective
That’s what I thought.
What was the point of keeping him alive anyway? She could have just shot him and would have immediately started bleeding purple... proving her and Fury right.
Right!?! The whole time i was like
"You have 2 guns on him and no one else is pointing a gun at ypu or the president! JUST SHOOT HIM AND IMMEDIATELY PROVE HE IS A SKRULL"
I seriously dunno why she just held Skrody.
I'll have to watch again but she didn't want to fire because the secret service agent would have fired BEFORE they would have paid attention to Rhondy's blood
@@Dan55888 I love that you said Skrody!
Rhodes saying "Where exactly have you been this whole time?" To Carol Danvers kind of hits differently now if he was a Skrulls saying that
oh my god just realised this
No way!!! That and looking back on this series Skrull Rhodey/Raava must’ve worked with Gravik also out of personal resentment towards Carol Danvers.
Hollup... you're cooking right now.
Rhodes couldn’t walk in infinity war and endgame. So the abduction could have taken place after he took off the suit and was going through medical care.
@@draekingston Or Rava could have faked needing the braces. This way, they don't suspect how fast Rhodey could walk again so fast.
These MCU series really need to be longer because they're always rush it at the end.
Very rushed. This arc should never have been resolved in just 8 episodes. But studios are terrified of season-ending cliffhangers or cross-season storylines
Another thing is, watch it all from the beginning in one shot, i get this with marvel shows because the finale is always the last episode. If you watch them all in order, the ending doesn’t feel so sudden. Watching one episode per week give off that illusion. It was also a quick ending but our povs get slightly distorted by only watching one episode a week.
@@DatBoiGloomyyou make a good point. Especially with all of the theories, potential spoilers that are available before the show.
@@EV21*6 episodes
Fewer series. Longer/more episodes.
So glad someone else noticed Rhodey’s hospital gown and that he’s been held captive since Civil War. Also hoping that Sonya and G’aih are setting up a Jon Snow/Khaleesi reunion. Can’t wait to see where this finale takes us in Sam’s cap movie
But gravik didn’t plan anything til after the blip. So was Talos the one who took Rhodey during civil war?
hopefully their relationship(s) goes better this time
Rhodey cannot been held captive since Civil War for a number of reasons
1. He was severly inured in Endgame and as we saw with Talos, that means they had to change back into his Skrull form.
2. Vision monitored Rhodey the whole time while in the hospital
3. Vision has the Mind Stone, so he would have noticed there are 2 Rhodey's.
4. Tony made sure to put a failsafe on their suits, so only Tony and Rhodey could wear them. Since we haven't seen the suit after Endgame, Rhodey cannot have been abuducted before Engdame
5. Gravik didn't put his plan in motion until AFTER Endgame.
6. People don't realize Rhodey needed to do a hospital checkup because he got severely injured in Endgame.
7. If Raava was already Rhodey before Endgame, why would she help the humans if the plan was already set in motion, because wiping out half of humanity is easier when the other half has already been blipped/wiped out by Thanos.
There were a lot of missed opportunities with this show and things that could have made it more interesting like that montage scene. I feel things were left unraveled without any opportunity for resolution. The one thing I will love this show for is giving us Sonia. Olivia Colman was just delightful. How this actress can go from acting in prestigious films, play the quee of England but also act with a bit of comedy in the MCU shows her range. I was really worried they would underutilize her talents but they gave a solid character to play
The only thing I don’t understand is how the humans who were captured didn’t die from radiation from being there so long.
I think that's why they had a cover over them, to the ones that were lying down. The ones that were kept standing up, didn't have much protection. So your question is still valid.
I too, would like to know the same question.

They were underground and kept alive by alien tech machines.
Tech machines and they was underground not hard to understand

Wait until you see him in...... Barbie.
Hilarious that Barbie gave him way more to work with. And he had maybe 20 lines in the whole thing!
@@DylanRL710 I noticed that too, proper diff accident, it was kinda nice to hear in the mcu
Varra actually wrote a book called Decoding The Superhuman Gene, with the cover on display in she and Fury's house (I believe in episode 4) and on the cover there's a picture of a galaxy but when you zoom in, it's an X with a circle around it. This is a big X-Men easter egg and could set up Varra studying mutants and the X-Gene and possibly meeting/working with Charles Xavier
Wasn't Xavier married to a kree ?
@@anpowicasta2135 Shi'ar not kree wasn't it Lilandra
This would be a cool way to introduce the X-Men. The Blip caused a mutation in certain people and they are afraid to admit that they have a mutation. All these crazy people trying to kill someone they believe is a skrull turns out to be a mutant and they use their mutant abilities to protect themselves. People would start to freak out and get paranoid even more and then we have a world like they did in the X-Men the Animated series.
I can definitely see the anti-alien hysteria Ritson created segueing into anti-mutant hysteria.
The X-Men should be their own separate thing because if not he'll f****** ruin it and you know it..
The MCU has lost any good creativity. Guarenteed when mitants come out they will just be there or they will rush an explaination that isnt satisfying like the eternals just hiding out in plain sight.
Remember when they were teasing and dropping hints like mad in Wandavision just to give us a big "Fuck you"?
Remember when Quicksilver was her neighbor? Remember when Olsen was CONSTANTLY advertizing "no more mutants" house of M story? People expected a twist where she would make mutants, she is kinda confirmed as a mutant herself but... nothing came of it. No mutants, no Dr Richards, Quicksilver was just a boner and Wanda just was an unlikable and unsympathetic villain to just crank it up to 11 crazy in the Dr Strange movie.
Also isnt it wild that a major magic disturbance happened and the sorcerer Supreme (Strange or Wong) didnt do shit?

I was really hoping the show would end with a Harrison Ford Thunderbolt Ross cameo
Same, I was hoping for a post credit scene setting up General Ross setting up The Thunderbolts to hunt down extraterrestrials.
@@jahimuddin2306 i was just hoping for any post credit scene tbh
Ford would cost too much, plus he would never do a cameo. I get the feeling it would be a struggle to get him to do anything hes not the star of.
I thought it was gonna be revealed the president was also a skrull and then he ends up getting assassinated too and that’s when Ross becomes prez
@@Collect2Disconnect Maybe he still is?!
This should have been a major game changing event in the MCU. Instead we got a mid tier show that will come and go.
I mean that ending ramps up the dark reign storyline pretty quickly
A 5/10 TV miniseries but that cost $200 million dollars and had the luxury of Samuel L Jackson in it automatically drops the rating down to around 3,5/10
It doesn't wrap this whole issue up though. Now that we're here what the series feels like is an intro to some big stuff not just involving the Skrulls but a LOT of the MCU. Now if it had taken the other route and these 6 episodes was all there was to do with this I would fully agree,.
I saw the run time and was like really? 30 mins smh
im still blown away this was 200 million in total what in the hell, not ONE superhero just terrorist skurlls stealing powers
This video was fantastic! I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it. Your style, editing, and overall content were so captivating. I'm a big fan of yours, and I can't wait to see what you do next
One important thing you missed! Fury's wife is working on studying mutations!
In episode 3 after they fake shoot each other we see the cover of her book framed on the wall and it's titled 'Decoding the "Super Hero" Gene' and the back cover has a X shaped atom of some sort.
What this means is she is studying mutations through out humankind. You probably are already familiar with the fact that Skrulls are a breed of Deviants, and Mutants on Earth share similar Deviant traits.
This is why she says to Fury her work is more important now than ever, because mankind is not only starting to discover more mutations among them, but now that this widespread fear and paranoia has consumed so many people its clear mankind is not ready to embrace the coming age of Mutants.
Think back to what Fury told Talos on the train in episode 2 about humanity not being able to share a planet with another species. It's all to foreshadow Mutants.
I'm glad that Doug said something about how quickly they were able to use the powers of the Avengers.
overall, it seems like one could call this show "Rushed". Which is unfortunate. Great performers alongside corny film tropes. I didn't know who Kingsley Ben-Adair was before this, but thought he rocked.
dude that was just ryans voice pretending to be the dog...
I'm guessing that can be explained away by saying Skrulls can adapt because of their shape shifting abilities.
Just wonder how we cope now we have a mother of powers.
Love the Eddie Izzard 'cake or death' line from Olivia Coleman.
@@swissertyfairly certain there is NO ONE who doesn't know that. 🙄
@@williamrayburn5314wait! Doug DOESN'T actually know how to talk????
Judging by Rhodey wearing a hospital gown and having trouble walking, it would seem they are implying he was taken while still in rehab for his spinal injury.
Actually false, any time after civil war, he has complete loss of his legs. Dr strange said he was a lost cause
@@ked49They weren’t talking about Rhodes on that call.
I would agree so they should have done something with that. A major problem I had with this show is that it never established how long anyone had been a Skrull so it was hard to know how big a deal any of this was. Even at the end, all they said was that he’d been under “a long time.” Imagine if they did this earlier in the series and they had something more dramatic like him asking for Tony, or them asking what’s the last thing you remember and he says “chasing Falcon, and then falling.” There were so many things they could have done with this show and they resisted almost every good idea they might have had
Maybe Fed Ex Stan Lee dropping off the Tony Stank package was a skrull
@@Kenboslice3 no telling how many are Skrulls; at least 1 million on earth already
Hope you feel better soon Ryan. I think Varna’s “job” she has to get back to has something to do with helping the Skrulls live on Earth among the Humans, hence the “more important now than ever” line. Isn’t she the one who introduced Gravik to Fury in the flashback? Maybe she’s always been a guide to the 1 million hidden Skrulls as they arrived on Earth.
You delivered that last line with perfect subtly. Well done.
I have no doubt that Fury had a long conversation with G'aih so she'd know exactly what to say. I believe everything she said was basically Fury's own words/sentiment. It was time for everything to come out.
She had his memories.
@@clarencewoods337 Why would she? He wasn't being held in a pod.

If Rhodey was taken after the fight at the airport in civil war that means he’s been locked up underground for 9 years because the events of Civil war took place in 2016 and the MCU’s current time frame is 2025.
It's a good job they had skrull keeping the hostages clean shaven.
And for some reason, 9 years of radiation didn't kill him. Weird.
@@KazikoWhiteimo it's silly to not assume there isn't a stasis component to the pods that slow atrophy or stop nail/hair growth. They're literal shape shifters
Also makes you wonder if real Rhodey blipped, while Skrull Rhodey didn't.
Lolz
Love how this recap is longer then the actual episode
I do think Giah’s powers will get downgraded. In that, I think she will get sick/ill due to having too many powers and they’ll reduce it down to like only extremis or something. Bc she’s going to make everyone else look like chopped liver. As Syndrome said, “if everyone’s super…no one will be”.
Great episode, I love the format of keeping the review/opinions and breakdown separated. I did miss seeing Ryan on screen but at least Doug got in some great lines (10:50), lol
Gravick died too easily
IKR!!! Like no one mentioned this lol! If he died just because of a being a donut, I mean, why can't just the healing factor kicks in? If the healing factor was that bad, then giah also not strong at all. She's just having many powers yet a simple shot from the real deal would take her out.
considering G'iah could revive it would be a weird plot hole if he indeed stays dead. Unless it gets explained away with something like "Captain Marvel's power blocks regeneration abilities"
You sound as enthused as Wanda did at the beginning of the finale of WandaVision when she said “previously on WandaVision” to do this breakdown 😂😂
Audio sounds great on the voice over! Well done
I feel like the quality of effort of this video is a reflection of this series. And I think you did it on purpose, well done
Was this audio recorded by skrull Ryan?!
Varra being a geneticist as her cover was shown with her book cover framed on the wall that talked about unlocking the super gene. If her work is more important than ever it may be hinting at a rise in human mutation. The impact that humans have had on the universe in the MCU has already been substantial and if people are evolving to the next step that would be of huge interest to the rest of the universe.
As a race affected by the Celestials, she would know about the presence of the X gene. Nice theory.
I like the new pace of your voice!
I think the leg braces and his attitude are the key for Rhodes and when he was replaced. He's always been sarcastic but his sarcasm in this seems a lot more harsh than prior to FaWS.
Man I wish we would’ve seen Gravik or Gaia use Drax‘s invisibility powers! Great breakdown as always Ryan and Doug. Love your videos. Thought this show was pretty good, could’ve been much better in parts but wasn’t too bad.

The ending completely sh*t the bed.
Y'all missing the irony... They kept the buzz a secret!
Great review as always ryan thanks for being so consistent with great content👍🏽.
That was the best segue to a therapy ad I've ever seen lol
I'm guessing that she wasn't just an amateur grower of plants. I think she was studying genetics, similar to Gregor Mendel's famous pea plant experiments. This would tie in with that book jacket for "Decoding the Superhuman Gene" that she had framed on the wall.
The anti Skrull stuff will play out in future projects. This show was the MCU showing us not telling us what Fury was doing post Blip until those future projects. I also think Gaia wont be keeping all those powers; it'll be easy to write her back down to four. The science was faulty on the machine or Fury tainted the Harvest. That sounds like something he would do.
I was thinking the effect might be temporary.
Or Gaia is now Rey from Star Wars, a totally overpowered female character who can master any power with zero training or practice, and has no weaknesses.
@@AStageForTheKingdom The same Rey that couldn't save the majority of the rebellion, couldn't get Luke to join up, couldn't save Saw Gerrera, nearly killed Chewie and couldn't save Kylo Ren? If all her friends dying isn't a weakness then it sure as hell should be.
Besides we saw her training on Ahch-To for however long it took for Kylo's injuries to heal and that must have been a couple of months minimum. If you compare the established starting skills between her as a scavenger on a dangerous planet and Luke farming moisture then he's more OP and less trained. Worse still annoying kid Annakin breaks the blockade on Alderaan and wins a pod race (no human has the reactions to ride them) with zero training and being raised as a slave. Right now she's the most realistic lead in any Star Wars trilogy.
Fury ,and Vera reconciling at the end really hit me in the feels.
Not only does Ritson demand the gun, he also grabbed a hold of it with his finger on the trigger. Thus showing that not only does he have an unhealthy need to be in power, but that he doesn’t have the self-control necessary to wield that power in a safe manner.
"Shooter McGavin" I've been waiting to hear someone say that since the series started! Thank you!
And fun fact, ghia isn’t as strong as people are wondering. They have to actively use the abilities. And they have a limit on the amount of abilities at one time. They also can’t mix powers to say create a photo powered groot arm
We also don't k ow if the powers are as potent as with the original characters, or if the harvest abilities are indefinite
@@mikeyj7824they are a lot weaker, gravik died.
Loved it. But Rhodey in endgame was hidden underground, screamed "canopy" and was crippled while helping rocket. He really wanted to save rocket and did not use his legs. So, just a thought
I think it’s possible hinting at civil war is a red herring. But I also don’t think marvel would let something like you mentioned stop them if they really wanted to make Rhodey a skrull before end game.
Hey if you’re feeling sick (your audio sounds way different) I hope you are feeling better and get some time to rest

Honestly, Rhodey should be dead, he has been held in a radiation filled bunker for several years. How anyone of them are alive is a mystery.
Eh I still have hope that he was there for Tony's death. If he wasn't there then why not add him finding out as a post credit scene. Unless Marvel has something else up it's sleeve.
@@joshuafass5841 unless he wan blip so technically its doesn't feel "long"
Rhodey blood was red in End Game , but Skrull blood are blue.
Irradiated blood caused a mutation in Spider-Man, hulk, and captain marvel. As for captain marvel that energy had bonded to a certain part of her dna, that sequence was then added. That sequence allows for her to create more photo energy

Ryan! What are they going to do with a super skrull as powerful as Gaia lose in the universe???
Also, wasn’t the skrull area full of radiation? How did they keep the humans there from dying?? And why were they fine barely walking or being carried out of the area?
Also, keep in mind that Rhodey, Ross and the other prisoners were held captive for a long time; long enough for them to get radiation poisoning for sure.
That occurred to me during the episode as well, they could have been supplied anti-radiation drugs but it wouldnt have protected them for long and it wasnt like they were in a screened part of the compound, just an open corridor.
What a hole…
I think they set up Gaia to deal with either Kang, the Celestials, or Galactus.
This is superhero show guys
My biggest problem with the show is that Marvel titled it "Secret Invasion". That brought so much hype and expectations that were never going to be realized through a Disney Plus show. Had they named it "Nick Fury" or something along those lines and then incorporated some parallels with the Secret Invasion storyline, I think we all would be feeling (slightly) less frustrated with the show. But overall, definitely disappointed...
I think Secret Invasion is the right title. They presented it as a Nick Fury show from the beginning. So, people who were dissapointed with the show because of the wasted potential from the comics, should have been dissapointed the moment the series was announced, because the tone and scope of the series was already set. Having said that, I do think the series wasted a lot of potential, but it was the potential of its own pitch, independent from the original comics story.
They should have titled it Skrull Invasion.
It was a civil war. Not an invasion.
@@Carpediem357no it wasnt
@@lilpeelypat3773 sure as hell wasn’t an invasion then
Your voice sounds deeper, I hope you're not sick, and if you are, feel better! 🙏
No matter how you feel about the show you gotta love the continuity person on set
It makes sense for rhodey to have been taken in civil war, right after he plummeted to the ground he's be so vulnerable.....if that case, not only would he not know his best friend is dead. He'd have no clue who Thanos is!!! The opportunity for a great character development is right there!!
NO, it doesn't make sense, every single episode of this show they blab and blab over and over, that all started AFTER Fury blip
@TheMaya0209 agreed, the scrolls only started ploting against the word after fury blipped and they were really set off when he came back and left them. If Marvel does write it as rhodey has been out since civil war it won't make sense.
The only way it would make sense is if Rhodey was actually one of the people originally taken by Talos (which could have happened after civil war), maybe even impersonated by Talos throughout infinity war and endgame. And then, after the Blip, when gravik started plotting, he takes Rhodey in his unconscious state away from Talos’ big compound and uses Rhodey’s likeness for his own needs- it would explain why he talked so different and acted so weird in comparison to his last few appearances.
Also having a skrull go into black history so many times was so strange in hindsight, in this series as well as captain America and the winter soldier
Am I the only one that feels like there is something different about Ryans voice? 🤔
i was thinking the same thing lol - think it’s just voiceover instead of filming in his studio.
Yeah sounds very different, presume it was done with a home mic rather than a studio mic.
I assumed it wasn't him
@@watcherzero5256 maybe he was taken over by a skrull 🤯
same not on camera either, not as good
This and the last episode were by far the best! It was so slow at first that I stopped at episode 3 but decided to go back...so glad I did. It got wayyyy better at the end. I was so impressed and never thought this episode or last was lame, just slow start for sure and sad that just when it got really good, it was over.
You’re always so amazing at this! I have to ask… what changed in your voice audio?
The tone of this video was so funny 😅. Ryan saying he’s keeping his personal opinions to himself but then sprinkling in the little digs, haha. This was my least favorite episode of the show but my favorite screencrush easter egg video
“I’m keeping my opinions to myself, also we’re back to the worse hospital scene of all time”
I think G’iah line as Fury “go find some other species” is DEFINITELY a like real fury would say
Fury in the comics & MCU is always willing to do whatever it takes to protect Earth.
Like really really bad “evil” shit 😅
Ryan voiceover in the begining of the breakdowns tells pretty much what we all thought of that episode 🥶
During the time heist in endgame when Rhodie says "me either" could imply he was not like that before meaning he was a skrull all along
I prefer live mic'd Ryan better than voiceover Ryan. The difference in energy is immediately noticable.
The hospital isn't understaffed. There's actually too many people. The Secret Service would have locked down the whole floor and only allowed a very few people on it.
Him going off on the hospital for a week straight is pissing me off already haha he won’t let it go the prez was attacked in the middle of nowhere. The hospital was whatever closest random hospital
We saw multiple parts of the hospital that looked the same ..
Seriously like the sponsor for this video.
Good point about the windows.
They must have a really really good window guy.
As Someone who sells windows I can tell you there ain't no way that those were getting repaired in time.
I was kinda disappointed.. the payoffs weren’t very deep. I saw the twists coming especially Gv G fight it was a shame tbh.
I don't understand why Fury would give him the real Harvest nor why Gravik would risk giving 'Fury' powers 🤷🏾
Only skrulls can gain powers from the machine
because of the coughing and the pills, gravik has no reason to think its gaya because he "killed" her already in his mind. There was no reason for gravik to think fury, a human could absorb superheroes powers because afterwards gravik could kill fury no problem if the machine or the radiation didnt get to him first
It was onmy made for skrulls. He thought being a human, Fury will be incinerated and he will gaiin power in one shot. So he asked before to Fury: "You really want to die?"
It was an insane gamble to bring the harvest to Gravik and assume he would leave "Fury" in the machine along with himself when he activated it and then that Giah would be able to defeat him. If she failed then they would have created an incredibly powerful and nearly unstoppable villain. It was a really really stupid plan.
@@zengamer21 yeah but thats what nick fury is known for, his plans aren’t the best or the most thought out but he always gets things done. It makes sense and that is exactly what that character would do
Not sure if this has been touched upon in earlier videos, or if someone else has pointed this out before, or even if it's intentional but still: It's a fun detail that Fury's wife is named "Vara" seeing as how that is the Swedish (and in different forms Danish and Norweigan) word for "Be". Att vara=To be. If I'm right she now gets to Vara/Be her true self, which is what every Skrull has ever wanted to Vara/Be.
Great videos!
For a moment I was kinda annoyed that the harvest didn’t have Wanda maximoff’s blood but then I remembered that is was mentioned that she was the only one that actually injured Thanos meant that she was probably the only person he couldn’t injure(at least not physically)
According to comic lore, when the Skrull impersonate a human they don't only absorb their looks but also their personality and even some of their memories, which is why they're so hard to detect. That explains how Gaia is aware of Fury's motivations and feelings. And about Rhodey, a few things seemed unlike him in Infinity War and Endgame, like suggesting killing Thanos as a baby or not understanding Barton becoming a vigilante after his whole family is turned into ash.
🫤
Killing baby Thanos was purely for humor and at that point if it was possible they mighta just done it. I didn’t understand how Barton became a vigilante after myself.. I thought it was weak move on him and immensely brushed under the rug after by marvel
@@pistolpete3199 At the suggestion, Banner replies: "First of all, that's horrible", so I don't think it was an option from the ethical standpoint. As far as Barton, it wasn't completely brushed under the rug. If you remember it was a big motivation to sacrifice himself for the soul stone. By the way, great handle. Fan of Sampras?
I'm pretty sure they mentioned that Skrull ability in Captain Marvel too.
@@pistolpete3199 Not only Barton being motivated to sacrifice himself as Grafight23 said but he had a whole TV show about cleaning up his Ronan gear so it couldn't cause more harm.
So desperately need a scene with sonya ,and Valentina in the near future...
12:10 LMAO whoever decided to cut that in, ilu
I've _never_ heard Ryan *so* disappointed during a breakdown.
Did anyone else wonder why Ebony Maw's DNA included the rings on his fingers?
Edit: Ryan did!!!!!
marvel doesn't know and neither should u , their consumers mostly lack critical thinking
I noticed this immediately and honestly. I’m done with the MCU.
They don’t care about giving us a quality product so why should I.
or Drax's Tattoos
@@LostinaMemoryseriously, drax’s tattoos were ingrained in his DNA 😂
Cmon it was fun seeing the rings. You guys make everything so deep
0:55 Wait, is Ryan sick? He sounds different. Maybe sad? Hope you’re ok, buddy. 💪🤙
it's not Ryan, sounds like Colton, I think that's his name, who guessed appears. maybe Ryan is sick
nice video
Loved the look of the super Skrull, they all should have looked like that from the start
Im really curious to hear what Ryan thinks of the series overall now that we are done. Id say its like a 6 or 7 for me. 7 may be too generous but i did like the darker tone even if sometimes bungled.
Missed opportunity:
Terrance Howard should’ve been the Rhodes that they found sedated
That would be a real twist
Ok. This was a good plug in.
I love how you noted the orignal sin because real marvel fans know this episode had alot of original sin references including the theory that Nick wouldnt let Gaia know his memories rather he just gave her enough information to deal with Gravik, it makes you wonder what else could Fury be hinding aka "The Original Sin"
1:40 7:28 It feels weird that they didn't even mention Thanos' garden planet as an option for the Skrulls tbh.
Captain Marvel came across that planet shortly after the blip, & I'm sure Fury found out about it when he returned, so they both had plenty of time to lead the Skrulls there.
They should have at least have a line about how the biology of the planet is toxic to the skrulls, or something like that
Or something about the Kree would have attacked them as the planet had no defenses. This whole show was dumb, lacking any logic at all.
Lazy writing
Makes no sense that out of that whole universe not a single place was suitable for the skrulls. And even having made friends with Thor (who could easily zap around planets and was friendly and nice enough to help out) or GOTG (it’s their literal job these days to help people), fury only ever counted on Danvers. Miss Moody probably broke favour with every planet she visited trying to find a home
He should’ve asked Thor
I feel like Marvel and Disney lied to me with the expectations I had set for this series, Definitely did not get better liked I had hoped, Definitely not worth a rewatch
I'm pretty sure they don't care if u not gon watch it
@@kingtreyswrld6442 pretty sure your right.. lbvs
That's the smoothes sponsor transition ever...
I cannot say this enough... I LOVE DOUG! Ryan is great but the DOUG-voice just makes me smile.
I think the biggest plot hole of this series was if Rhodey was skrhodey(skrull rhodey) when the avengers went to the planet where thanos was farming and killed him
That ....that planet was definitely habitable for the skrulls as we can see him/her breathing there perfectly and there was no threat too since thanos was there and he's no more. Yeah if fury didn't find u a home, bro you did!
Also yeah it's very sad to see our rhodey was not actually present in the events of infinity war or endgame so he doesn't know abt tony or natasha 😢. That would break him and maybe even the plot point for armour wars.
One more thing why wasn't the captured ppl weren't affected by the radiation when they were kept held of even if we say the machines were protecting them what abt when giah released them ? Could anyone give me an explanation...
Another big question is how does Secret Invasion effect Everett Ross is he still close to Wakanda? Does he still know that Val wants to invade Wakanda and steal their vibrainum to alter the US Military? Does he still know about Riri Williams and her vibrainium detector machine and the existence of Namor and the Talokans? That one lingering thread is a *big* plot point that Marvel will have to answer.
Didn’t wakanda forever end with okoye saving Ross? So when does this even fit in the timeline
That makes so much sense with Rhodey now. He was on Tony's side during Civil War, and when Infinity War comes, he seem to switch sides to cap. At first it may be seen as, he finally realised that cap was right and it was wrong to join the govt. But now after this episode, it makes better sense that the Infinity War and Endgame Rhodey is a skrull all the while. Which is why he wants to help cap, to go against the govt so that they can create chaos on earth, and that all Avengers go to prison. Why did he help the Avengers to fight Thanos? Now, that may be because Gravik got blipped and he was fighting to bring Gravik back?
Half of all Skrulls were also blipped. Good reason to be on the same side for a beat.
@@markmatsonif put it that way, that's true. And does it mean the real Rhodey actually got blipped too?
