Btw don’t take a zero period class unless you wanna wake up at 5:30 a.m every day like I did ;-;
ShivVZG thats an OOF
ShivVZG indeed
Excuse me but I don’t know where you went to high school but I have to wake up at 5:45 to make the bus at 6:50 but I have to plant to be at the bus drop at 6:45 because I have had way to many drivers and they all came between 6:40 and 7:00 and we had to get to school by 7:40 but when those drivers got time at 7:00 they had to speed because it is a half hour bus route going all over my small town. I had one driver who was always running way too late that we had to drop a stop and those kids had to take a different bus
Wth u had a 0 period class?? What does that mean? Extra learning. Then you're lucky

Side effects of high school may include:
• High stress
• Mild to severe depression
• Anxiety
• Sleep deprivation
• Lack of self esteem
I have almost all of these, I-
Don't forget - death has been reported as well
bro first year in high school year and have all these . Pretty sure they are fucking up if the vast majority of people agree on this
I can relate to sleep deprivation. I'm exhausted as heck.
The last one for sure (still developing a sense of self+emotional maturity) but after high school is worse for the rest of these.
Show this to your teacher and you’ll probably get detention
It's a risk I'm willing to take!
TAKirbyStar bet let’s do it, my school is primarily strict so maybe I’ll get a suspension as well
TAKirbyStar ye. Tired of the same schedule 5 days a week over and over. With all the pressure to preform well, and drowning in Algebra
I won't. When I was in High School, my Speech Teacher (my class was at 7:30 btw) ranted to our class about how dumb the school was because scientifically, teenagers should never be giving a speech before 9:00. My school understands some of this stuff is dumb, and luckily is taking steps to change it (too bad it was only after I left).

Your school was...competent? What parallel universe are _you_ from?
All I can say is this:
I liked math before the alphabet got involved.
I liked reading before I had to analyze countless texts.
I liked history before arbitrary facts dominated the classroom.
I liked science before the teacher talked about complex subjects at the speed of light.
And hell, I even liked standardized tests before they decided my future.
Facts
wise words
Can relate. Except the 1st one
These things squandered my motivation to ever learn these subjects
Alphabet made me love math lol

@@giygas9305 It took me years to realize that the problem isn't bullying itself, the problem is schools punishing victims for standing up for themselves, which gives kids the impression that they're wrong for doing so. And then they wonder why so many school shootings happen.
Imma big dude. Pretty strong too but I don't like fighting too much. I was getting bullied by someone smaller than me so I gave him a good punch in the stomach and we both got called to the office. The principal told us both to stand up and since I was bigger he assumed I was the bully and got in big trouble until one of the bullies friends told the principal what was happening. Question: has anyone ever had a school experience so unbearable (whether it be bullying, outrageous assignments and homework, Etc) that ever single day you would dream about burning school to the ground or tearing it apart piece by piece as you savor each and every moment as you finally get revenge for all the years of sleep depravity, inhumane amounts of homework, constant abuse, and wasted time spent on learning useless information. Personal if I ever got the chance I wouldn't hesitate.
I've already experience this type of stuffs and yet iam still pissed! My blood is boiling school right now!
I've come to the conclusion recently that having friends is just about the only way to get through school with a shred of sanity left. I lost my last friend a few months ago to god knows where, they just all up and pretended I didn't exist. Since then schools been literal hell in every sense. Bullying picked up, grades and motivation went out the window, my reputation hit the floor cause I didn't have any connections, and depression and dissociation went through the roof. Given the chance to do it anonymously and safely (I still care about people there), I wouldn't hesitate to shut school down and just go find a job, especially since school is stopping me from working cause "Your grades show you can't handle more responsibility".

You should know how to do your taxes though if you have carried a job since before then. Laziness to learn and having your parents do it for you every time instead of figuring it out on your own.
@@kramer450 you can look up education too
This is one of my favorite things about my math teacher. She takes concepts we are learning and instead of unit things like bananas as a variable, she shows how they can be used in everyday scenarios, and how we can learn to invest better, find better deals, and even how to do taxes. I can tell already she is going to be super beneficial to me in the future.
My high school not only taught us useless information, the stuff that you'll actually use was completely wrong. Found that out when I went to college and my college professor was asking me who taught this stuff before coming to college. His response was " if this is how public school is teaching then the younger generation is fucked"
Thats probably high school's plan. They arent teaching skills, they are trying to teach blind obedience.

@EXTREME i think that’s a problem with some people. i don’t see the point in studying something you won’t even need in your adulthood. if it’s for a test, sure. but other than that, i don’t see the point.
But it's not about "learning for what you will need in adulthood" essentially school is preparing you to have responsibilities and discipline and prepare you to think critically (for example math is kind of like mental excercise) sure school isnt perfect but it's not bad really
You dont need collage to be successful, thats what the school tells you because they and the collages get money from your $10,000 dollar debt. And to also brainwash you :)

Damn.. I'm glad our government suddenly said that subjects for the finals are more important than the rest at the time we were at that topic. Byeee math!
I heard from my father that they are important. Like for radiology and stuff. Luckily I won't need them.
It's so your head can understand those concepts, pretty useful if you try to study something related to math.
Elementary school is vital and some aspects of middle school can be important but Highschool needs to be changed completely Highschool should be about learning what to face after you graduate it should be about learning how to file taxes or how to balance your bank accounts they should teach us how to properly control our emotions all these things are much more vital then learning how to do fucking calculus or geometry
Dude just SAME
@@noriakikakyoin1423 I'm not sure how it is done where you are, but how it should be done is that highschool classes are not there to teach you how to do stuff. When you're in high school you are in the process of finding yourself through puberty so the curriculum is designed to teach you skills, not information. You develop skills through different processes which you might find insignificant but they are there to help your mind grow. Again this is how it SHOULD be. Sadly now a days many teachers don't give a shit and just ask you to memorize stuff and that's when learning fails to occur.
An example of how skills can be taught is when learning IMAGINARY NUMBERS. Sure it might sound useless to someone who has no desire to follow a career in math, but just the fact that you can complete calculations using a number that is entirely abstract is enough to develop your brain to better understand abstract concepts, such as waves.
As a teacher it reallya hurts to see so mamy young students focused on learning "useful" things such as taxes and what not. If you focus on developing your skills you can figure out all those thinga and more! If you are happy just learning to survive in the adult world, you won't be able to live in the real world.
I used to teach high school history (now I teach middle school science and history) and I do understand that students may find this class useless. One thing I learned from college is that high school history's main goal is to teach students how a chain of events can lead to the benefit of future generations. Also I constantly hear students complain about the things like why don't they teach us how to do taxes. The truth is some states restrict what we cant teach to students. Taxes is one of those things because they prefer the parents teach their kids economical benefits and economic common sense.
my mother didn't teach me anything, my father only started teaching me taxes years after high school
I don’t like High School but my teachers are amazing so far. Here’s why:
English- If we don’t finish classwork, that our homework. The only homework we have is classwork we don’t finish.
History- Gives is a whole week to finish 1 hw assignment
Drivers Ed- Let’s us use our notes for classwork/homework
French- Just wants us to study and hardly gives out hw
Marketing- Any classwork we don’t finish is our hw and the work isn’t hard
History through film- Just watch movies and answer simple questions on them
Chemistry- She doesn’t believe in hw. But when she does give out classwork and we don’t finish it, that becomes our hw. She also helps us with the questions so it’s an easy A+
Math- 50/50. She lets us do some hw in her class and the stuff we’re learning is kinda easy so I’m ok with it
I’m only ok with homework if it’s classwork that we didn’t complete in class. I hate hw when we get something done than when the bell rings, they give you the hw

And half the time the aggressor gets away with it. And then bullies more people until finally someone commits suicide.
One time this one guy was choking my friend so I kicked him out of self defense and he let go of him grabbing his shin cause he was in pain and then I got in trouble for kicking even though I explained the situation to the principal who said I should have just told an adult when there were many adults watching this guy choke my friend
The problem with the last ones is that even if you get taught how to do taxes or how to file for a job so many people will not pay attention and just ignore it like their other classes and only a small majority of kids will
You don't know that🙄
I’d say about 50-60% of the information you learn in high school is useful if you plan on going to college.

School: *tRiAnGlE*
FiNd tHe BaryCEntre In tHis EQuIlaTerAl TriAnGlE
Trust me, doing taxes is literally just filling out a form, they taught it to us in my eighth grade a couple years ago and it was easy as hell. Insurance is the same, just filling out a form. A lot of these life skills can be understood in a couple of weeks. The whole point of learning trigonometry and other seemingly useless info is not to learn what it is but how you are doing it, and to learn more internal life skills like critical thinking, applying past knowledge, solving problems, working with others, and more. Also there are people who would want to pursue a career in construction and architecture that would be interested in trigonometry, the reason it is given to everyone is so they can get a full idea of what to pursue and they can decide for themselves. I do agree with budgeting, that is a skill that is essential and should be taught in 12th grade.
Don't even worry, We'll teach you about plant cells for three months
how do you think your dad learned it? you will learn them the same way as all of us when the time comes, believe me learning how to pay your taxes is much easier than doing trigonometry

I hate school with a passion. Life's been better ever since I finished school
Seriously though going through school is the worst thing about my life. It hasn’t taught me anything other than to stay away from everyone. My history teacher made a kid cry because he didn’t know where to find the Gulf of Mexico on a map. My best friend turned out to be a Nazi and after I stopped being friends with him, his mom followed me on the playground at recess (god bless recess I miss it so much) looking for ways to get me in trouble. When I was in 1st to 4th grade shit was great, then 5th rolled around, found out my best friend was a Nazi and here I am. With no friends because my last one lied to me about his father abusing him. School is just a neusance. It hasn’t changed at all since the industrial revolution and because of that kids are growing up like me to avoid everyone.

Throughout my 5 years in high school I only remember that the mitochondria is the power house of the cell
Whatever that means...
“Mighty Mitochondria”
I learned that in 6th grade
I don’t remember that from high school. It’s engraved in my brain because of internet memes.

Personal finance is the most boring fucking subject I've studied. It's just common sense plastered with even more common sense. Hell, you can Google most of the shit already lol. Your very right
Kids always say “man I wish I could learn helpful things” but in reality, if they are forced to learn something they won’t want to, it’s just human nature. Imo school is great (yea I’m only a freshman but I take aps and all advanced classes, it’s not bad). The problem is, school only works if you got a certain mold of student. A lot of kids struggle learning through a book, or through lecture, but that’s how it works.

Thankfully, I don't have to deal with the first one: In our district, high school starts at 9:15 and has no zero period. The catch is we have one more period than most other schools in surrounding districts.
My school just added this class “exploratory class” where we find careers and jobs, make resumes and divide into subgroups, I chose stocks, so now im learning about stock and playing an online simulator where I get to invest in stocks

One on one learning, with a person who understands the way you learn, actually wants you to learn, actually cares about the way you feel, actually is there to help you, and is emotionally intelligent enough to recognize when things are getting frustrating and understands how to help.
No bullies, no pressure, no teacher who's only there for a paycheck, just you, your mom, and an actual education taught to you on a schedule that makes sense with the understanding that you are a human being.

Surprisingly my high school teaches all the things you said at the end like how to do taxes and make a resume.
The shittiest thing about the educational system in my country is that school starts at about 7:15AM and ends at 4:15PM or 5:00PM. Then most student have to take “extra classes” because there’re many things that teachers haven’t taught in school, students gotta seek help somewhere else ( it’s pretty common in my country). Extra classes often lasts for atleast 1-2h or even 3h, so after all the extra classes students still have to go home and study pass mid-night if they want to be a good student.

Sofia MacDonald it’s not the worst thing in the world. Many Hollywood movies and musicals create scenarios that would never happen in a regular high school, and they just do it for drama so people would watch. Don’t trust Hollywood stuff it’s a lot like middle school but more work and you actually have to pick stuff that you want to do (electives and clubs) like debate or robotics or newspaper or something that looks good to colleges and your resumé.

I'm currently in 8th grade, getting less than 5 hours of sleep, and having constant panic attacks. Bro, if it's just 4 and a half more years of this I'm going to lose it.
The 4 dislikes are from school districts who want to ignore problems with the education system.
Personal take here:
High school ain’t meant to benefit everybody, it’s just meant to be a selection process for people with over the top work ethic. If it’s too much then theirs not even a purpose. That’s why there’s all these crazy difficult subjects. I agree with the video, high schools should help prepare the everyday student for the real world
Yeah school is literally just meant to test your ethic and how much you can handle, like REAL LIFE. Mofos complain and act so depressed, Jesus grown adults may actually be overworked yet they put on a happy face and move on
@@macewindu6853 and why is that okay? You know it doesn’t have to be like that right?
I feel like it should be a mix of both real life skills/awareness and academia, and if not then at least let people know why they're doing what they're doing. Yes, it isnt for everyone, people gave thresholds, but that's just how life works.
I think high school has a good purpose especially for people that are going to college or thinking about going to college. Imagine applying for college and not knowing if you could handle the work load and wasting thousands of dollars to realize the work load isn’t for you? There’s people that happens to but it’s far less because high school gives a little glimpse of what you may experience during college. The habits you carry in high school carry over to college. High school is like a free trial
