I had a step dad who was the greatest Dad anyone could ever have. GOD blessed me when my Mom said I do to him. He was loved by so many people . At his funeral there were so many people from all over the country and a couple of WW2 buddies that came from Hawaii and from Washington State. So many flowers they closed 2 viewing rooms for all of them and played Taps at his Graveside ( I was the strong one I thought , until they played That Perfect 🎶 song at his Grave Side. Love You Daddy H.❤

I had a step dad for 7 years before he passed. He was the only father figure I ever had. My mom is such a strong women. She raised me right just her and my grandma. My grandma walked me down the isle. God bless her soul. I have been married now 26 years.

Me too. My step dad who just passed away a few months ago adopted me as adult and asked me if he could adopt me and he was sorry he didn't do it when I was a child. That phone call my dad made to me meant world to me.
I was about 9 when I was adopted by my stepdad. I didn't know my biological dad at the time (I've since met him twice) but my stepdad stepped in to fill a father's shoes for me and my brother! He adopted and provided for us along with my mother until he became ill and then later passed away. I miss him dearly.
We waited until he was 12 so he could make the choice, he chose my last name…lord help him he’s 19 and is in college to be a politician with the last name Heady🤦🏻♂️

This is so touching and I can relate. I lost my dad when I was 11 and my mom remarried and he adopted all 3 of us.
To this day my pops (stepdad) proudly introduces me to his new friends when I visit him. He’d always tell them “this is my daughter and I am proud of her!”

I was fortunate enough to officially adopt my step-daughter when she was only 3 years old. Last year she graduated college with her Bachelor degree and is now in her last two weeks of basic training in the Air Force. I couldn’t be prouder!
