@@Chazza1000 I know!!! i was so mad we didn't get to see more. and I agree with you 100%.Ann is the is the most well-rounded of everyone. Her driving and shooting skills vs the king of spades had me wondering if she was incapable of doing anything lmaoo.
I like that we saw non cast characters also beat the face games, it really gives the feeling that that this place is constantly moving and new people are coming into the borderland. like how before arisu and friends got here with their plot armor the other characters and most of the players had already cleared the numbered cards and they will continue to do so long after the main cast is gone. It really opens up the potential for so to explore new games and characters we never saw before.
I think there's a manga spinoff (?) that explores the games that the citizens of these games once played. At least before they chose to stay in Borderlands
Yeah definitely. In the manga as well. The only games Arisu and Usagi played in the second stage were the K♧ and the Q♡. The J◇ and the K◇ were both cleared by Chishiya. J♡ was cleared by two new characters, Oki Yaba and Sunato Banda (That was the same in the Netflix adaptation, but Chishiya wasn't in there in the manga, but he was in the Mahjong game, so J◇). And K♤ was cleared by Aguni (with the Aid of Heiya and Dodo; the last is a character from the manga that hasn't been in the adaptation).
The other games weren't shown but some panels hinted at that Yuji (a character from the manga) cleared the Q♧ and that Kuina cleared the J♤ and it was mentioned somewhere that Ann, among a group of other players, cleared the Q◇.

Also it took 3 episodes for Arisu's first game to finish. Maybe that's one of the reasons why other games' scenes were short.

It was a Hearts game. The group had to continue to sacrifice someone to the animal in order for the others to have enough time to figure out the Maze.
@@lamontveal4663 If that was the case, then the first game called Alive or dead (3 of Clubs) would have been a hearts game because the group had to choose a person to sacrifice, and go through the door so they could survive.

Spades:Physical ; Diamonds:Mind
both hearts and diamonds are mind but in different ways. hearts is psychological and diamonds is intelligence. that is why Chisiya thrives on Diamond games because he's insanely smart and why Arisu thrives on Hearts games because his will to live (the whole point of the story) isnt easy to break.

To be fair...none of those games were shown in the manga. You'll notice the filler games suck and are kinda basic than the ones written in the manga. The Queen of Spades game was complete filler and very boring as compared to the King of Diamonds. Ann was barely in the manga but was a fan fav so they had to kinda write her into the live action and give her something to do.

@Shnipitou Sacrifice would likely be the main plot of the King of Hearts rather than Manipulating people by sound effects.
Not like stabbing your buddy in the back like Jack of Hearts. But saving your own life is more important than saving others is more like a selfish betrayal to your own teammates/partner/social group.
The Citizen/Game Maker of this game possibly tends to enjoy betrayal moments and benefits from it to consume and eliminate players with the help of selfish players. (This is my own conspiracy)
The problem is face card game is againts Citizen of Borderland like Jack of Heart maybe he among the player who join the game while the beast chasing them
As Hearts games are designed around trust and betrayal to scare the players into undermining others for personal survival, I'd like to think that every hearts games has a possibility for everyone to survive. It's just that the people are so irrational that they don't think about it from the mastermind's perspective

I think the King of Hearts game is based off Werewolf/Hide&Seek. Or an AmongUs type of game since this is a King Game, people need to get out of the Maze but will also have to figure out who is the Impostor/Werewolf.
Probably its like 7 hearts gameplay but maybe the werewolf will be attackers not the ship one

I think the king of heart is kinda escape game as 7 of spades at the stadium. They only need to run away from that labyrinth maze and also have to sacrifice one of them to keep the way out by the time limits.
It's just like you need to feed the monster to save your friends.

Just like Jack of Hearts, all they need to do is to get rid of the citizen, unlike Jack of Hearts which is betraying, distrust, and stabbing behind your back, this one is team against citizen which means that the whole participants will try to eliminate the Jack of Clubs. The source comes from other comments so I don't know if this is true or not but this makes so much sense since it's a Clubs Game (team vs team / team vs citizen / 1 vs opposing team / etc.).

I like season 1, when compared to the 2nd season, feels oddly *grounded* lol. Season 2 went full on "live action anime" on us (and that's a great thing), especially the entirety of ep 7. Like damn.

Queen of Hearts sounds more majestic than King of Hearts. Queens (women) are more heart forward than Kings (men).
If you watched or read any variation of Alice in Wonderland including the original, you will see the King as a weak and childish character while the Queen is the strongest and most brutal.
Queen of Hearts is a stronger character in Alice in Wonderland and the queen is also stronger in chess. So no need for the King of Hearts to be stronger. Besides that a strong queen is more interesting that a strong king.

I actually wish they took they time more with the other games I felt like it was rushed kinda.... although intense I didn't like the fight sequence they all had at the end. Idk I'm happy it was left with a great cliff hanger but I feel overall underwhelmed by the second season
In my opinion they should clear most of the face cards in the second season, then leave the kings or special cards for the third season. Budget would be a problem though.

Queen of Clubs (Target) - There will be 6 Pairs of teams, Each team will occupy a beam and must knock other players or teams off their beams by throwing glowing balls at them. The last team standing wins.
Jack of Clubs (Scale Ropes/Hangman) - Players must hang onto the ropes while amongst the players is the Jack of Clubs. Your goal is to knock down the Jack of Clubs within the Time Limit.
Jack of Diamonds (Mahjong) - Win a game of Mahjong against other players and your opponent.
King of Hearts (Labyrinth) - Escape the Labyrinth and survive the mysterious beast while amongst the players is the King which will mislead you to your death.
Its Nice if we see more of Ann screentime beating the Queen of Diamonds. I dont get the rule of Jack of Spade when kuina solo fighting everyone as if she was the jack of spades🤔🤔. I will understand it if Jack of Spades vs every players but its not. I was also curious in Jack of Clubs and King of Hearts I wish see more of them.
I think the Jack of Spades was likely just an all out brawl between all the players and citizen(s) with only 1 survivor so everyone just kinda out for each other.
The King of Hearts is likely a labyrinth with dead ends and loops with the King of Hearts and the venue leading the players astray and causing them to turn on each other until they find the exit.
@@cindychoo7 the king of hearts game was about finding a way out of an everchanging maze while being hunted by some kind of animal, and the only way to win was working together or sacrificing someone of the group to give the others more time to figure out the correct path, and I suppose that the King was actually trying to misguide the others

Someone mention the other day King Of Hearts is basically a test of their humanity and their will to survive by killing someone.
The participants are trapped in an endless Maze and in order to win they need to find the exit.
The catch is they are also being preyed by an unknown beast and the actual King Of Hearts is hiding among them as a player.
So to survive, they will either die trying to find the exit or willing to sacrifice strangers for the beast to save themselves.
If you ask me, that sounds crazy and probably would've been the best to see in action.

Maybe they had to choose who to give up as food for that creature to distract it so they can escape, that definitely has some element to betrayal if they had to play it in that way especially if they were a group of friends.

However, it could be implied that the game tackles a psychological horror trope.
- The Beast is unknown, it is only heard growling amongst the shadows of the hallways.
- The mirrors in the corners also trick the players into taking a different route.
- The venue itself raises the paranoia amongst the players.
- A player tells the others "Don't go in" during the game, implying that they are stuck in a looped route.
- Potentially, one of the players could be the King of Hearts himself, masquerading as an ally to deceive the players to exhaust and scar them.

sad that some games just get done in the background but it makes sense that there are other talented people than just the core group. what i never understood was, were that normal games 1-10 still going on, as i feel like face cards would normally just wipe out everyone before they finished clearing the stage or their visas ran out
I think in 2 games (jack of hearts and king of diamonds) it was explained that as soon as you enter the arena your visa is on hold (it doesn't expire in that games timeframe). That is also why people were kinda forced to play (that and the king of spades roaming around) because if you don't the games could go on for a long time (no more open arena around) and you'd maybe get killed before all is finished.

By the climbing game I think you mean the rope climbing game? That game is the Jack of Clubs where (presumably) everyone has to work as a team and try to knock the Jack of Clubs down from his rope as the game does not end until the Jack of Clubs falls to his death.
I hate that Ann and Kuina only got montages for their games while Chisiya and Arisu got their own episodes. Not really fair. I found Arisu super boring and annoying in the 2nd season also. He didn't need to be featured that much when all the other characters became much more interesting.
Agree, i guess they wanted to use his storyline for all the emotional moments and such but i skipped those..., i found him ok and neccesary in s1 but i personally think they could have skipped king of clubs /queen of spades this season, or at least make it shorter, also i find the short scenes of the queen of club games satisfying, never the less they could have shown the queen of diamonds game completed in order to show ann more and the jack of spades more in order to showcase kuina aswell, i get that the manga focuses on arisu but hes sooo boring and asugi too.
