Farewell is still likely better as it hits more relevant types (artifacts and enchantments) but the option to remove ALL counters from your opponents is interesting.
Notably this can strip Experience/Energy/Poison counters.
@@zackkelley2940 Goodbye is easily the weaker, but more interesting of the two(assuming it's real). Farwell is busted, Goodbye is actually fun and much less salty.

Recently had a guy talking his vampire tribal deck up before we set off to 1 v1 … I make two quick changes , subbing in the wooden stake and the blazing torch.. drew the torch on turn 4 or 5… and long story short… 70 cents worth of artifact wmd smashed his 1k+ whatever he was rocking… Sidar Jabari made quick work of Edgar!

Goodbye destroys creatures planeswalkers and battles, then exiles the yards, so it’s an *optional* exile creatures planeswalkers and battles effect which is SO GOOD in black.
It is slightly worse because it gets blown out by heroic intervention type effects
@@portlandaustin yes, and if your opponents have death matters things they’ll get their triggers. That said, being able to destroy or *effectively* exile all creatures at your discretion is huge! Makes it one of the most flexible boardwipes I think we’ve ever seen, and something black really wants.
It destroys creatures and planeswalkers, not everything. It is significantly weaker than Farwell but will be more interesting for the counters bit.

Whats crazy in this? The 5c eldrazi is the only one i could see someone thinking looks nuts and while very good isnt overpowered by any means
So, are we seeing some of the Titans outside of Ulamog, Kozilek, and Emrakul? It was kind of alluded to that the Gatewatch didn't know if the three Titans were THE Titans, and that it was possible there were more.
I don't believe there are other Titans, just the big three. Obviously, just because we haven't seen other Titans doesn't mean there aren't of course, but so far every Eldrazi released pretty handedly fits into one of the big three's lineages. As far as the Gatewatch knew however, Ugin pretty well summed up how the titans operate: their physical forms are just manifestations of their existences in the blind eternities. I believe the exact metaphor was that "the titans are like a human pushing their hand into a pond. The fish inside see a giant monster, but they have no way to fathom that they're just seeing a small piece of a much larger creature."
@@apocpon1944 yeah. I still think it's plausible that there are more Titans, and considering the fuckery that the Omenpaths must be causing on the Blind Eternities, I could see them showing up. But we'll see.
@@mooredaxon Did see a theory that Jace might be planning to release Emrakul to let her loose on planes the Phyrexians made uninhabitable to repopulate them with new life in the long-term. Doesn't seem too far-fetched.
I think Ulamog is fake. The original artwork for the card is one of the first concept art of Ulamog, and the original leak has "concept eldrazi" written on the bottom
I do hope it's fake (even though the eldrazi fanboy in me is absolutely gushing) but IF it is real, it may be an alt art, concept art preator exists, and I believe in this set emrakul has a concept art varient

I’m definitely building Azlask, be a I’ve always wanted to build a Spawn/Scion deck and this is the commander for it…..that being said they could’ve just left Annihilator off the card and it would’ve been fine.
This is one of those cards where if I’m playing it I’m going to tell the table would you like me to play this without the annihilator text; just to make it fair. Spawns and Scions needed some help, but giving them a Commander that gives them a lot of power and toughness, indestructible, and Annihilator could/is too much.
haha just like back in the day, i dindt play back then but i heard so many stories of infinity decks. Just make sure to bring a second deck just in case lol, im probably going to play it with artifacts

Yep, my Shelob used to hold its own but its struggling as a slower commander against these lightning fast overpowered commanders. If she is down by turn 3/4 then I've more than likely already lost. I can sometimes juggernaut through but shit its hard

Pretty certain Ulamog has been proven fake. The commander of the eldrazi deck is ulamog and kozilek combined via the leylines before Chandra incinerated them, so it makes no sense for just ulamog to be in the set. That and his abilities are just beyond broken.
Why would that matter? Lore is irrelevant in MH sets.

@@Hapkins-le6xf You aren’t wrong, for the most part lore doesn’t matter in MH sets, but they’ve all been set in the past around some time period. If they’re going by the time around Battle for Zendikar, they stick to it. I suppose they could make an Ulamog by himself, but to me it just doesn’t make any sense when he’s the face commander fused with kozilek. Either way I’m 99% certain that Ulamog has been debunked along with some “command harmonicon” land card

Hoping for more common Eldrazi support, really would love a viable eldrazi deck in pauper, maybe eldrazi tron with the urza lands? glimpse the impossible seems like a good way to refill hand or maybe set up a hand of emrakul next turn
I'm stuffing counterspells and stifle effects in all my decks. Whirlwind Denial is gonna be the new MVP. Especially with that new 5c eldrazi commander. It's not enough to just counter the commander; you have to counter all the triggers on the stack.
I think black should have WAAAAY more counter removal like vampire hexmage is such a good card.
The green flare was in the first actual spoilers so the cycle is 100% confirmed. We just need the white one

Im not surprised at how powerful they are. WOTC are trying to up the ante with every series/set to gain hype which equals $$$$. Its that simple.
Flares are nutty with evoke, like the incarnation creatures. Get a discount on the evoked creature, then sacrifice it to get a free spell in response to the evoke sacrifice.

Yup but it isn't as good as destroy effects can get blown out by heroic intervention type effects. Also death triggers will occur.
The green Flare is basically Cultivate.

Ehh, dumping a creature that’s very likely to be a mana dork or accelerator like Lotus Cobra or Tireless Provisioner if you see Flare of Cultivation when you want to be seeing it isn’t terrible, because hard ramp is way better than soft ramp in EDH, but it’s not exactly knocking my socks off.
Maybe base-green 3 color decks will find it more exciting.
I don’t think I’ll be tossing my Nature’s Lore and Three Visits out any time soon.
Green flare is Flare of Cultivation and was leaked much, much earlier.

Would Azlask’s pump ability stack the annihilator? Prowess stacks as each is individual, I’m a bit curious if that also applies to annihilator. It’s a bit mana intensive but that can be insane at taking out a single opponent.

We've seen the green flare already too, it's cultivate for free if you sac a green non-token creature
And this is why you run Primal Druid or Viridian Emissary to get 3 lands off it.

New Ulamog is crazy stupid, exile half your deck, ward sac 2 permanents, annihilator 6+ probably +all the counters equal to his annihilator 🤯

The creature and planeswalkers destroyed with "Good bye" will go to exile though as modal spells resolve top to bottom, meaning they'll hit the graveyard and then the exile graveyard part will resolve

No, no, I'm fairly sure they've gone PAST kill on sight at this point.
You kill them, incinerate the corpse, and make sure you have someone who can banish demons and eldritch horrors on standby as they'll inevitably try to come back.

The Blue counterspell flame will see a lot of play in both spirit decks and just alongside snapcaster mage in general. I will def be playing it
I believe the annihilator 1 from azlask would indeed stack, but it would be 2 seperate triggers of annihilator 1, since you're giving the creature annihilator 1 twice and not annihilator 2. Which would actually make it even more powerful, cause that makes it more difficult to counter. It looks to me that Azlask took some pretty heavy inspiration from Najeela the blade blossom, which I'm sure works wonders in combination with each other. Azlask + Najeela + Roaming throne + Rings of brightearth, sounds so fun, but I'm sure the game ends well before you get that combo off

Azlask is the eldrazi I have been wanting for so long. Yeah titans are cool but I like my little nest invaders or rapacious ones
Azlak is literally a tribe shifted General tazri. Tazri was 5 color tutored an ally to hand, and wubrg pump creatures for color of creatures.
The new Ulamog will be downright cruel in my Umbris deck. But we'll see if it's real....

The green flare was officially spoiled by wizards a while ago for an event. It’s 1GG or sacrifice a non token green creature for a cultivate effect. Definitely will be popular in commander

Looks to me like the next area we're going is to Blind Eternities based on the amount of Eldrazi we're seeing. Either that, or a plane that has been "consumed" by them in mass. I say this because Ulamog this strong says, "Buuurrrrrp, that was a good plane!"
Nothing but Eldrazi can survive in the Blind Eternities, so unless it's gonna be from their perspective we are never going there.
However, a recently devoured plane could be actually pretty cool. Maybe it could start a story in the background of the main storyline of one or a few planeswalkers trying to track down whoever is destroying planes, but they are already 3 or 4 steps behind.
Well Ulamog and Kozilek are sort of… dead. So it’s probably just flashbacks for the purposes of printing big ooga booga cards

Honestly, my first thought for Ulamog was Voja. It's an elf deck, so getting to 10 mana isn't all that difficult. Then Voja's attack trigger can keep piling +1/+1 counters on her.

i have a eldrazi edh deck and it has annihilator 6 cards in it which i like hos the deck plays already so i wont change since it has all current titans in it but this new Ulamog mite be funny in the Roon blink deck im making since there are cards in it that return things to their owners hand.
The cards are crazy strong the elderazi is going to be toxic after this set releases. they already were super strong before they got juice last year now they are going to be the best tribe in magic period.

Ulamog exiles half library rounded up... then you cast ephemorate or some kind of blink on it. Granted the combo is 11 mana plus, but that instantly kills target player. They get instantly milled out... via exile.
It doesnt work like that. Lets say a library is 44 cards. Half is 22. Then you blink ulamog and it mills again. Half of 22 is 11, not 22.
Goblins + explosive singularity + Flare of duplication seems real good.

Flare of malice is pretty nice as an edict. Ill happily pay 2 for a etb/ltb creature that makes my opponents discard a card and then sac it at instant speed for free to edict their biggest/best creature.

The Ulamog really did not need the part of exiling half a players library. You could easily just include some exile cards, to get the counters. Aside from that, I like the design. Interesting powerful ward, and a new unique annihilator. Maybe a little bit cheap with only 10 mana cost, would have probably put it at 12+ because of the powerful ward, but still a pretty fun card. I'll probably add this to my Satoru Umezawa ninja/eldrazi deck if it actually ends up being real

Based on the comments to this video, I’m glad I’m not the only one who has distain for the new creatures Wizards is printing.
I’ve had friends pickup magic again after years of being away and they quit within a year or so because of how complex and powercrept everything is now. It just didn’t feel like the same game to them.

blue Archway doesn't ramp well it essentially costs 2 to allow you to use your artifacts as rocks but many low cost artifacts have activated abilities anyways. I think its kind of just a really bad Urza.

@@davidevans7477 no not cedh for sure. Our cedh pods are comboing turn 3 or sooner most games. This is in like an 8 power deck. We consider 9 and above cedh but ita all subjective.

Tbh hard to tell but there's some reson for that. Like why would they nurf the new Emrukul to make a modern legal version, but make Ulamog better than any of his previous iterations? Thats kinda inconsistent, its the correct font but wrong scale too. I looks like a fan just read the Ult of the new Tamiyo leak and tried to make it seem like half library rounded up is the theme of the set.
If the WUBRG eldrazi is real, Black Market Connections should have definitely been mentioned
