- What is the best response curve in Apex Legends? I would tell you the Linear or Classic curve is the best, but questions on steady came up. In the long run, the steady response curve will hold you back in Apex Legends.

Steady is like a toxic relationship, it's so good in the beginning but later it shows its flaws and then it's hard to get out. I really like steady and it doesn't seem to hinder my close range shooting but I'll give classic a try again
It is just training wheels.
Honestly.. people need to just experiment with what feels best for them. I personally play classic. But steady has great potential for higher sensitivity I feel, and such to a point where I don’t think it’ll be such a draw back for close range. Just a learning curve
See I did the reverse, I was playing Classic since season 2, but I’m very heavy handed, so classic and linear were just, a little too jittery for me since my aim in FPS games has always been inconsistent, whereas steady gave me that consistent aim, though the bit I 100% agree with is you are able to track close range more just cause like you said it’s more responsive, it’s just for me personally it’s easier for me to track on steady because of the slower response being more forgiving to me, maybe I’ll switch back to classic, never the less, great little tip video
In the end play what you're comfortable with. But to improve and grow as a player I would recommend at least classic
@@RogueWraith went back to classic for the day, and I honestly don’t know why I switched, or at least steady has made me well, lot more stready with my hand, no overextending, nice beams, I guess you were right lol 😆
I'm definitely gonna switch to classic now, glad I saw this
hope it helps
Tbh I only knew classic and linear that it everything else I thought never existed
Only 2 worth playing
@@RogueWraith I never heard of the other 3 until I saw this vid today LOL
Response curve is all personal preference. I actually prefer steady for close range fights as well weirdly... aim assist does most of the work anyway, just use more left stick to help your aim.
To an extent but as I said it limited your growth
No its not. Each have there strengths and weaknesses but some of the response curves will get you killed. If your on steady aim with a sniper and somebody slides up on you with Linear with 2 close range weapons you are absolutely going to die because you cannot move fast enough to track them. Your literally handicapping yourself to gain training wheels for your aim
@revelationns weird getting a reply on this months later lmao... I have never had this problem using steady honestly... listen I'm not a pro player, have no interest in being the best player ever or something, havent even played the game since season 15... quite happy hitting masters on a season split if I grind enough, that's good enough for me lol! I use 4-4 Classic atm, steady feels nice too though.
Ultimately, it's personal preference. Some pros use steady, some use classic, some use crazy custom sttings like genburton... Just use what works.
I used to play on ps4really good at the game not like pro but better than average. Seitched to ps5 and everything being newer and more fluid I clearly had to upgrade smth, started messing with settings it really sucked cause that didnt helo regardless of how fast my yaw was bit the fact that i might have to make the simple switch to linear may be my problem lol
so is steady 30 response curve in ALC?
if not what is the number? Is 5 bad?
15 is steady. 5 is a mix of classic and linear
I started with classic went to steady over a recommendation and have done terrible since . I just switched back to classic I did something the other day where I played 10 games with each response curve started from linear working my way back to classic and steady was the worst for me when it came to average damage classic was the best and linear wasnt to far behind classic. this was with a 6 sensitivity 4 ads no advanced settings just regular sensitivity settings also I was more consistent to. now I would probably have to do this again to see if it was accurate but the fact I kept getting worse as I did them from linear to high velocity to fine aim to steady then went to classic and then I improved is enough to convince me
Constantly switching does hurt you but classic is probably the overall best for most
Thought this was Ninja wtf lol
4,3 classic on controller
I'm on alc
Quick question, do good controller players run stick acceleration, or do they have it at 0?
There is no stick acceleration
Idk why but when I played steady I was able to track long range on wingman so good but even today since I switched to classic I am struggling tracking far range can u help me?
Steady is easier at a longer range because it is much slower, whereas classic will really help up close tracking but it is faster at far ranges too. It really comes down to breaking your steady muscle memory first. Takes a little time
what do i do when my controller is warn out and i cant afford a neew one i can play on linear but its not that great
Play on classic and increase the deadzone
Hey, I been playing about a month and half, being a somewhat beginneer, would you recommend me classic or linear?
Classic
Just try out different ones with the exact same sensitivity and see what you like honestly linear doesn't seem much different from classic if you get use to it but you most likely should have a elite controller and do use advanced sensitivity settings if your going to use linear. linear to me does kind to seem to have less recoil on guns when aiming to me for some reason but it just doesn't feel right for regular sensitivity movement but I don't have a elite controller also it might depend if your prefer to close range fight vs long range but you can't really choose one just off having a few bad games you should try playing several games with each response curve even if it seems really crappy you might actually be able to get use to something even as crazy as high velocity
Isn't Soar kobi still on steady at higher sens
He hasn't been soar for like 2 years. But no, classic is what next to everyone plays
I use high velocity 7-7 for a year now and it's pretty good don't recommend tho as it will be hard to control the sensitivity
Pretty high when the general consensus is low sens roller is typically more dominant
@@RogueWraith Yeah that's why I switched to linear
Your literally handicapping yourself by playing 7-7 Velocity.
@@RogueWraithidk I still to this day play 6 non ads and 4 ads. So I can have way better reaction time if I’m getting beamed in the back. And I’ve never been great at Hitfire but I mastered the art of shoot first ads second.
@@dankzgaming8613 hipfire separates the great from the good
What do you recommend for an experienced player?
Not steady and find the setting that works
Most controller pros use classic. So 44 or 43 classic. Duh
Well then that's what we gonna do Sir👌
Good Luck
So many pros use classic
Yeah, classic is the best/easiest
Ehhhh this video was semi meant for me 😂 after you said this in your reply to me I said alright I’ll switch it back tn see how it is and idk if the training wheels worked but my range aim was better now then what it was before on classic lol but you were right about the upclose I found my self having to aim in and out so I could rotate fast enough to the next target dropped a 3k after the switch back ln so we should be back and golden soon 🙏🏼
Definitely have to let yourself adjust to the new sens it provides, but in the long term it is better
What number for the response curve?😅
Don't use steady, just going to hold you back
On linear my character moves allone
That's stick drift and not a big enough deadzone
is this for controller?
Yes
I got off of it as well
Good!!
What is fine aim on alc
The worst Setting
To me it's easy and remind me of extra yaw
Should never need to max out your stick while aiming
Ik but at the end of the day it's base on my choice and I was just asking about do you know how to convert fine aim to alc 😐
@leeroy_on 30fps pretty sure I made a video on it a while ago. Pretty sure the RC was 15 with a weird outer threshold
What would 9 response curve be in alc setting
Hair below classic
@@RogueWraith in Fortnite I play linear in call of duty warzone I use to play linear but I play dynamic on there now I might try linear on apex again last time I touched it was when I didn’t know about alcs
@@pngjeremiah3229 linear is just 0
What about 1 dead zone 5 response
I think imma play classic what would classic be like a 1-5 I’m guessing?
He just want people to go through the training it took him to learn them curves. so while you learning he can mop you up in pubs actually smart. stick to what’s comfortable to you stop being so gullible. 💯
No I am just being honest. Steady is one of the worst things you can do if you're trying to improve long term. It is WILDLY agreed upon linear has the most potential for good players but everyone else should be on classic
Yea, start of the season I switched from classic to, 5 deadzone, 2 outer threshold, 0 response curve, its hard for the first few days, but if you just practice your micro adjustments in the firing range it's soooooooo easy to control recoil and tracking
Classic overall the favorite, but linear has the most potential imo
ninja?
Never heard
I’ll never understand what the curve means.
Just wait
