i dont see any problems with your version of the rework honestly, it would have its own niche
I'd say instead of a 50% chance of dealing 2x/3x dmg it should instakill enemies that has 20%-30% of their hp left. And this would only work for enemies with under 10k or 20k hp
So insta kill an enemy with 2-6k health? Kinda cool

honestly they should just give sniper a one second aim time, reduce the fire rate, and reduce the cost (bottom path is like juggernaut and only aims once until no more enemies are in range)
Hey NoL I was wondering if you could make a vid about Airship Assault or check it out if u interested, has some interesting lore accesible in-game, the thing is that is a book with entries, in which by completing the requirements u get to unlock each entry (for example kills with a certain weapon, wins on a map/team or finding hidden objects throughout the maps to unlock the entry).
Its a WW1 mainly inspired game but its story goes between the 1920's to 1939, from what I am aware of most of the lore is in-game (also in the game wiki but thats for the ones who interested on it but not wanting to do the lore entry)
The Lore Book and all is mostly new (since the march update that brought the Cresent Isle map and the Lore Book) so maybe in the future there will be more entries or more Lore stuff

But ngl, I think the headshot thing should be a “every other shot” thing, because it would feel like rng to pray for headshots constantly (making it somewhat inconsistent). I do appreciate how you rebalance this towers it just needs more stats in general lol

I've got an idea to buff sniper performance. The top path stays mostly the same, but at 3-0, it gets a new passive called "Precision Amplifier." Now, the sniper has a bar that fills up once it hits a set damage cap, based on each level. With each level-up, the damage cap increases. When the bar tops up, the top sniper gets a laser aimed at the enemy for 2 that bypasses ALL resistance, dealing 200% damage. After that, the bar resets to zero, but there's a catch-the sniper risks overheating or damaging the barrel, which takes 5 seconds to fix.
For instance, the ideal for 3-0 is a 500 damage cap, 4-0 is 1200, and 5-0 is 2900. Perfect for taking down bosses, right?
Now, onto the bottom path, which remains mostly the same but adds a new passive similar to the top path. At 0-3, it gains a passive named "Bounce Blitz." Just like the top path, it features a bar that fills up once it hits a set damage cap for each level. The big difference? Each time the bar reaches its cap, it fires off a Ricoshot or bouncing bullet at the enemy. Hopefully, this addresses the niche issue with the bottom path.
For 0-3, the ideal is a 350 damage cap, 0-4 is 1650, and 0-5 is 2720. However, there's a trade-off-the Ricoshot bullet only deals 75% of the damage (plus, there are limits on the bounces; I'd suggest 0-3 has at least 3, and 0-5 has 5 bounces).
This suggestion doesn't exactly tackle the issues snipers face, but I'm aiming to turn it into a high-risk, high-reward option. It's all about trade-offs: it might have low health, but it packs a serious punch if played correctly, good isn't it?
I'd fully supportyour version, as making it expensive and higher level does seems a good option
For me, I think the 5-0 damage should be 300 flat out, the head shot chance will increase 75% (though still 2x) and the stun should be 0.25 seconds cuz it will be too op if higher, also don't forget increased its HP by 200 and has decreased chance for the boss to target it by 50%. For the bottom path, just change its bullet targeting to LASER, LIKE WTF WHY THEY DIDN'T DO THAT, and at max it will ignores laser resistant, then add top path's pierce (3 enemies)
I still see sniper useful for beginners, its ability to reveal stealth on bottom path (which is also chainable) in a huge range makes it useful in elite mode, and ability to ignore bullet resistance makes it useful in expert. Again, there are definitely much better variants than the sniper, but so they are much harder to obtain, keep this in mind
I prefer making bottom path To Doubt high damage per second. Use my steps for a max level bottom path.

Can Pierce 5 enemies. It has a 20% Chance for the Enemy to not be targeted. Like the plaque doctor Spray gun That debuts your towers. Well, it's not going to affect it. Eradicate or any other Enemy that kills a towers. Well, if you're lucky It would not be targeted. They'll also far more expensive
And both top and bottom get stealth Detection

imo it should land headshots after every x shots rather than relying on RNG, especially when the savage blows are so powerful

they just need to add flying enemies and make top path railgunner do the highest dps to flying and make sniper the most economical for flying enemies

I feel maxed out bottom path should be like tower blitz sniper. Obviously the games are so different from one to an other but i think tower blitz just does it well
I do say instead of 50% chance to do double damage just make it every 3 or 4 shots he will deal double damage since rng sucks in both irl and in game and a fully maxxed top path sinper will headshoot his enemies for double damage every 2 shots

for a sniper the range is too low, it should have atleast double the range so that you can get more of that range for damage value
I would say your opinions on "changing" sniper isn't a good idea.
For top path, you decided so that they would do headshot, which would do x3 damage for max lvl, which in terms of average sniper would do x2 damage. Also, the enemy would get stunned for 1.5 seconds, which in terms of average it gets slowed down by around 26%. This is without edj attack speed buff.
(before i start talking about this, just so u know im assuming that u didn't change its stats besides changing pierce to headshots and adding stun)
the headshot is fine, cause you decided to remove pierce, which technically also results in an average x2 dps. But for the stun thing it's a bit too op. I would say sniper needs an around 25% stat buff, but stunning could be really broken if u chain it with multiple snipers. Adding an edj also makes this more broken, with sniper doing almost the same attack speed as the stun, so theoretically if you get lucky enough 1 sniper is enough to get an enemy basically stuck in place.
For bottom path, the "change" is quite balanced I would say, it's just that I feel like it being similar to the power-ups are kinda bad. Maybe instead, enhance the flare gun instead of changing the whole thing, like maybe make so the flare gun allows a range buff for nearby towers. (or just give up dealing with this flare gun and just buff the overall stats by around 20%)
Another point i want to say: sniper is not as bad as u might think it is.
Yes, it is statwise around 20-25% worse than like operator, but just so u know sniper bottom path does have an ability to reveal all stealth enemies, and its top path could perform way better if optimized. Its maximum potential is basically x3 its dps(cause of pierce 2, so possible to hit 3 enemies at once), so that would technically be better than operator. The dps may seem low, but its range kinda pays off. That's how sniper works. You play slow and slowly chip the enemy till it's dead.
This is just my opinion. Your choice to agree with me or not.

if it pierces, it can get over 200 dps but against single target it sucks, they should make so if sniper only hits 1 enemie and does not pierce at all it should do 2x damage(only when it gets any pierce). Also INCREASE ITS HEALTH
Sniper cannot be strongger, bc there is railgunner, sniper should have dps below railgunner but longer range (top path railgunner is what i meant). John need to rework the sniper. And bottom path sniper is absurd,it can pierce but does not have AP. Sniper needs better ce tbh. (John nerfed the ce)
