As a tower defense game fan that loves tdx and tds equally, it’s kinda funny how fans are fighting which game is better or not, while in reality it’s probably the same but with different air refresher.

What really ruined tdx's reputation is its community, hell even the tds discord community are dunking on tdx due to its players. It's all just an endless, and most definitely pointless to compare between the two. I'm just about to start playing tdx again after leaving that game to rot during the Christmas event, but the massive amounts of hate.. Dang.. I feel terrible for tdx to have such immature players, thinking it can compete with tds when it's literally a different game with the same genre. I'm glad this video is posted, I just hate comparison in general, especially that one watermelon youtuber who also thought of tdx's win, turning to a different side than they have expected.
i agree with this a lot, back when i played tds in area 51 it was so buggy and weird that after getting commando i just… quit. Then, during the overhaul is when o came back, and the game was…. still buggy. Came back again around halfway into the halloween update and that’s when i started REALLY enjoying the game, and from there i kept playing since. TDX definitely has its problems (skin crates, very grindy, not the best replayability) but i also believe it will be just like tds back when i played in area 51. It will DEFINITELY improve over time.
Tdx is just like other games on launch:new and unpolished with rooms for improvement.As a tdx player,im just glad that when tdx came out,it was not buggy,tho still needs major improvements

To be fair with your point, Tdx’s developer (John Roblox) was very well known in the tds community for making game trailers. He even got the bloxy award for best game trailer. But he eventually left the team and announced tdx which nearly the entire tds community knew about so it was pretty big. So it doesn’t really matter which one came out first, because almost the entire tds community knew about and tried tdx. I think the reason it has a low player count is that it’s a little outdated form tds. Tdx was announced before tds fixed their easy mode, made tutorial, matchmaking finished, and the other permanent modes like pizza party and badlands.

Even as somebody who doesn't like TDX, i have said actively that i see potential in TDX, just at the moment it's ruined. I play new TD games all the time, despite being level 560 in TDS. I've gone through countless games i love and this was one of the few where i lost interest within a week. I do hope that TDX gets their crap together and can give a really enjoyable experience. When I started to play tdx I at first liked it but when I got juggernaut I felt drain of the game because it felt like tdx grinding felt more boring to me than tds

What you say is true, I have seen many videos addressing the problems of the game, and among the most mentioned are the poor replayability of the game and the grinding. Both of these problems are understandable as it is a game that came out months ago and can be solved with updates that fix aspects that can be improved. I think the game is not on a bad path, it has great potential but I do think that there are people who should think that Tdx is a recent game compared to tds which has been years since its release. just give the devs time to polish the game.

I can agree with what you said and as a guy who’s level 197 and been hooked to tds since a month before hardcore (I did play during the heights event I just never cared) and like level 75 or something in TDX I agree I like to see tds as my casual TD experience just a simple match with simple gimmicks it’s basically use a ability or two… place a tower and medic so the stun isn’t hell when warden hits sometimes make sure the teammate uses COA
But then TDX.. I have to calculate where the prices are to the tower, which path is more efficient, what towers my teammates have to the mode, what ability do my teammates have to be as efficient to kill eradicator MK2, how much HP my towers are on, where is the bait most effective in relation to not be wasting space, is it worth doing a rewind or just restarting, what support is placed and it’s range to be as effective to reaching towers and how competent are they because I swear they sound smart till the match starts and they go for warship that they bought robux on ANGEL ISLANDS
(And before you say half of those apply to tds… your right but like you get so much cash and you can have a teammate that can solo fallen in a squad match it allows for huge risks meanwhile TDX whenever I’m playing we all have to focus and helping newbies beat elite mode is a fight on its one and then with the sudden uprising on nightmare- look you get my point before I double this messages length I see tds for more casual matches and I see TDX for my strategic and focused matches… WHICH IS WHY I PLAY TOILET TOWER DEFENCE YEAHHH- that is a joke I never even entered the game)

TDX had the opposite effect.I was excited to start fresh and experience something new.Even tho tds and tdx are similar I had no idea which would be most effective tower to get.Which help spark my curiosity and explore most of the towers and its better cross-path.
if im gonna be honest when i played TDX i didnt experience any bug but in TDS we still have the stupid matchmaking bug where you spawn in and your entire team or half of your team doesnt spawn in (idk if its fixed or not but i doubt its fixed) and then theres hardcore which still gives me the chills to this day cuz i grinded for i think about 2-3 months straight to get accel

just to add, when you said it goes from 13k dollar juggernaut, and 225 level warship, it has been nerfred to lvl 100, and many new in between towers were added (one of which you used in your footage)
probably my biggest issue with TDX right now is how it's managed
TDX just feels like it was rushed to meet a deadline and to satisfy an increasing mob of impatient people
a lot of towers are released unbalanced then reigned in after a day or two

@@enchanted3820I’ve actually used shotgunner and freezer on my alt after getting mini. Shotgunner is great for early game and freezer works very well as a support tower once you get about 3 of them

The endless mode trailer is out, it's not nightmare mode as from what they advertise, it's more of bringing an endless gameplay experience... The more waves you survive, the more rewards you get. Endless mode seemed to bring brand new enemies and bosses too, and is the Endless Mode considered the "Nightmare Mode"???
Alright, that's all I can say for now regarding what TDX has been cooking recently
i think why all the TDS fans starting comparing and just hating on TDX is because theyre most likely afraid that TDS will get more unpopular to a literal game in beta for some reason, and so tried to compare the bad things of TDX to the qualities of TDS without reminding themselves of the MANY "oopsies" that TDS had that they still forgave, even if they were 10 times worse
the only reason i no longer ply tdx is because pl join u when u say solo but they added the solo button to the survival statue
If TDS never removed the HIDDEN WAVE it would've been one of the top games of roblox.
For me, For a Betta State Of TDX, I am impressed How Even if TDX is still In beta Phase, They Did alot of Things in there game! Especially the Endless mode in april 20, I really enjoyed this game, for me, I din't got annoyed grinding This game, I really Enjoyed Grinding the Armored factory New tower! For sure if the Plane towers came out, Oh Boy, TDX would be Wild! 🔥🔥🔥
3:28 I haven't really followed much of TDS but apparently their largest bug the rate of fire bug was only really fixed late into last year, and im pretty sure the gambling mechanics are here for some time before the game is fully released

TDX is only in their beta’s. True it’s not as good as TDS has to offer but both games get boring an hour or 2 after playing. Of course the grinding in both of these games are gonna be a lot more different but who wants to spend majority of robux that was dug out of your wallet just to get towers with special ability skins?
TDS may not offer a lot of towers that are NOT pay to win but they can be very easy to grind.
But in TDX, they have a lot to offer. It’s just what kills the mood of their game is the Grinding itself. (The only things that cost robux is the skins)
We want to easily grind for the towers that are available to us but we also want more towers to play around with.

It's true i've played quite a bit of tdx but I always come running back to tds, it's just so much more polished and it's mode roster while similar to tdx has more variety, tdx literally repeats the same two bosses twice for their modes it can get kinda stale
For me I don't mind leaving old games, I've played a few tower defense games before (btd 4> btd 5> tower battles> btd 6 > tower defense sim > tdx >) I really enjoy all these games because they are all similar while being different in many ways. Even though I put many years in to many of these games I still like to change between them lol

Even when I lost my account, I still stuck with TDS cause of how good it is now (except for VIP+ which should not be talk about)
Thing is, John brought tdx in as direct competition to tds, he made everyone think its gonna kill tds, so ofc everyone is gonna compare the two
TDX has been in development for ages, I think it’s fair to compare it to TDS.

TDX is a unique experience for sure, bosses killing ur towers, really puts ur brain on speed modes to prepare and the strats require brain cells (Which most ppl dont have)

Its comparing the worst copy to ever exist, copying not only other tower defense games , but also copied a copyrighted show made for people invested in “sentient toilets vs technology come to life” trend.
Versus a well polished game made with years of work put into it(tds), and the amount of quality and fresh air tdx brings in.
Both tds and tdx should not be compared to a trash, cash-grab game for kids known as “toilet tower defense”

As someone who didnt play tds I had the opposite experience. I thought tdx was more approachable since the grind would be more gradual with updates. Less daunting. Tds has years worth of content I would need to catch up on. And with how many updates tdx gets? For me it was a clear decision. I mean look at how far the games come from just November.

Anyway! I dont mind tds as im lvl 200+ and played game for years during my school time and I dont mind tdx either! feels very fresh to me for a new game to enjoy!
In my opinion I prefer tdx because to me. Tds is more for younger audience. I completed the Game (played since 2019) and tdx suits my interest and style but Idc what I think about either games. there both great!
Eitherway what I only dislike is the Content Creators who make videos on the Game atleast in my opinion. Is the always same formatting editing, editing and some even dont get straight in to the point which results in either skipping through parts of the video or the videos itself is pretty boring. that my only problem which isnt linked to the Game at all!
in my opinion its just I prefer playing tds myself then watching people who make videos on the Game or even just people who do non commentary videos
But the point is. both games are completely fine and im willing to keep playing them regardless. I feel myself completed with tds as I stopped playing in 2022 and I feel like I done enought with the Game. so I want to start a new journey in tdx because it is alot more violent and it suits my interest of the genre and military theme!

My problem with tdx is that it was WAY too overhyped. "YO TDX WILL BEAT TDS ITS SO MUCH COOLER ITS BY JOHNROBLOX" and when I played the game on release it was simply boring. I didn't stick around because it was boring as hell. Mind you, I don't have a full acc in tds neither, its just more fun, and has higher quality. However, tdx did save tds by making them actually try with the updates
Tdx has been cooking up two new modes multiple patch’s yea I agree giving time is key me personally I’m more of a tdx person my self I will admit there is random stuff that happens that need to be fixed (Speed of sound Revived Abominations) but it’s makes up for that with being active with updates and trying to polish them out before releasing them every games going to have flaws every game no matter what is going to have flaws after every update I mean hell scarlet and violet are glitchy as any game that not polished and more glitch’s are fixed more appear not giving something time like what we did for TDS is just unfair to TDX
TDX in Beta is already amazing
If the marketing is done right, it could be on par with TDS. Just hope the same could be said with Tower Blitz, Tower Heroes, Vector Fission, and more. Not enough people are talking about it.
The marketing was done right, the reason it didn't beat tds is because most players who like the type of game tdx is are already playing tds and they are not gonna switch because they already have lots of progress on tds. Currently, tdx is doing pretty well though averaging 7k per day after the endless update. It's only going up from here
People think both john and the tds devs are at each others throtes when its only a friendly compatition. They are both rivals but not ones that legit want the other dead. Its a mix of rivaly and cooperation, tdx has some referances of tds in it and tds and some ref of tdx.
John already did show how he dislike tds 4 years go, and in the curent the hunt event, john usually chat with planetearth, if you watch his video about tb vs tds 4 years ago you will know why

I like em both, but I generally prefer TDX. It seems like it has more cool stuff then TDS IMO. I love TDS but man the events recently have left something to be desired. TDX gets pretty frequent updates and has a lot of neato stuff to play with.

I like tdx as a game but the problem i have with it is the grinding is so boring and i just dont find it enjoyable compared to grinding in tds
can i just say the only fanbase i have seen be outright toxic towards the other game is tds's, I've never heard a peep out of a a tdx player about how the game is significantly better than tds (isn't to say toxic tdx players don't exist, just seem far less frequent from my experience)

@@leonardotrujillo8661 I think there's a lot to compare about the 2 games, they are somewhat similar. But when some certain TDS players compare the 2, they refuse to accept the strengths of tdx, either through not being experienced enough (a lot of tds players don't realise you are meant to micro heavily on tdx bosses) or they refuse to accept that the game is good because they hate the thought that its even marginally better than tds in any way. Again I believe this is a minority, a large portion of tds players just don't care about tdx or have never tried it and I can get why tdx players constantly bringing it up can be irritating.

What really drove me away from TDX was the fact that any video about TDX or TDS made within a week or two of TDX's launch was just filled with random TDX fans saying things along the lines of "Take notes TDS" "Better than TDS" and overall just a whole lot of unjustified hate towards TDS. TB fans had a good reason to hate on TDS, TDX fans don't.
I intentianally waited for TDX cuz i didnt have "That" much progress on TDS and gave up back then. Cuz i want to play a Tower Defense game a new game that has promising quality was the best shot. Plus i can be one of the better players compared to TDS which has Millions of Good gamers better than me

I followed TDX ever since it was announced, played the game on launch for 2 weeks and then never touched it again. The crates & skins were honestly a super big turn off, like yeah cool but the only non-robux skins were either recolors or furry type skins which is just not what I like.. The game also at the time was super slow if I played anything but solo matches. Just not my typa game honestly, I'll stick around with tds probably forever since I've tried getting back into TDX but I just cant.
Both games have different styles & gameplay too, so I think comparing them is really dumb. Great video tho!
"Furry type skins and recolors" Wait till you realise TDS does the exact same thing. The only difference is that TDS had way more time to add new crates and skins, they ALSO have skins that can only be purchased through real money (plushie skins). TDS was released in 2019, TDX was released in 2023, TDX still needs time to add new skins and crates.

Trust me, at the time i came into tdx with the mindset that it would takeover TDS
The MOMENT they added gambling, and making their first skin crate consist of recolors and furry skins was an INSTANT turn off. Stop using TDS to defend the games mistakes when it makes 0 difference. The issues are still there and John continuing to lie about his plans (especially when he said he wouldn't add gambling..) tells me a lot about him and the games future
So in conclusion, your entire argument was a nothing burger because you just hid behind the "well.. tds did this a long time ago" yet you want people to play the game that has the same issues as TDS and expect them to put their trust and time into a new game. Yeah no that's not how it works
The thing that why i cannot respect tds even though i'm still playing it that below and his teams never credits planetearth/tb. It does not matter how good tds is rn, i still cannot find why should i respect a game that copied everything from tb and was given exclusive permission from planetearth but later below abandoned him like he is nothing, if planetearth did not give below permission and strike tds for copying everything such as stats, waves layout etc, i'm sure tds is doomed. i cannot just say something is better when it comes from stealing.
I like tdx, but think the time it takes to get most good things, as most difficulties either give too little or are too hard, is just not worth it, it’s the same problem with most other tower defense games on Roblox too.
As someone who grew up with BTD5 and later BTD6, i find both games mid, unoriginal, and lacks any strategy :P
They really do lack strategy tbh(especially tdx)
Just like a td game is, path defense is the worst strategy game genre.
Here’s what I do: I play other games > I play TDX after seeing its awesome gameplay > slowly start getting bored > back to step 1.
I think tdx devs learned from the mistakes of tds, to make a great game in just 2 years.
If we didn't have tds tdx would probably be nonexistent
Tbh i think the reason of it its because its fairly new but peapole tend to keep sticking around with the orginal game instead of a fangame or seaquel
