Hey, Justin! I definitely do! If I get her, I plan on using her 2nd Ascension! As for CEs, I suppose something like Midsummer Moment, Dangerous Beast, or possibly Knights of Marines could help her.
All in or until I get her. No pain, no gain!

Update: I got her to NP2 & she is SO much fun to use! Another CE that she can use is Crimson Spear Trainer. Also managed to get her on JP!
Van Gogh's generally being used as a Solo Quick Super Orion that could spam her NP and do huge crits, so the type of command codes recommended for those uses, are like the ones that could give her ignore invis or the ones that increases her crit damage and a little bit of healing.

She already has massive Crit damage so adding more is overkill, I'd slap her with CCs that apply curses or another form of damage up like Quick up
I think a servant you missed as one of her best supports for her would be 2nd Van Gogh from support. Both can benifit from each other's NP, not to mention that they double the stacks of curse which in turn can let them get their NPs back instantly
1 more servant that works well with Van Gogh: Van Gogh
One thing that I noticed that wasn't mentioned in the video or even in the comments, Van Gogh's best support, is in fact, another Van Gogh. The first Van Gogh can go through her skills and gain at minimum 60% NP charge based on if the enemy resists curses and how many there are, the second Van Gogh will apply her stacks while also taking in the previous stacks for anywhere between 80-120% NP charge. If both fire off their NP the both gain the benefits, so both are hitting ridiculous crits, while the enemy is constantly stunned.
Using Two Van Gogh's turns her from a Quick DPS, into pretty much a tie for best CRIT dps with Super Orion. It also opens up the third slot for more selection, instead of Skadi, you can put in Caster Artoria for more consistent NP gain on the main DPS Gogh, while giving both much needed defensive support. You could put in Summer BB like you said, and not worry as much about getting the best Card RNG since all three benefit from all the buffs, and so on and so forth.
How is douman as a support for double gogh?
@@danielrojas-db9nq he's ok, helps Gogh make big crits before she can take off with her NP spamming. Boosts her base attack too for a few turns which also helps a ton since she doesn't have any attack buffs natively. Defensive supports are also great. People who provide invulns.
@@Byssbod oh so he's just ok, because I've heard when Gogh absorbs douman curses she takes too much damage for how good doumam curses are. I wish I had bb summer, I only have castoria to pair with both goghs.
@@danielrojas-db9nq well castoria is the best support here for survivability in my opinion. So you're doing pretty well by using one. Douman and skadi are both better than castoria for boosting damage, though. Douman might be a bit better than skadi for damage, it's kinda hard to judge they both have pros and cons. Skadis first skill is *powerful* just like doumans skills and her cooldowns are shorter. Douman is harder to kill than skadi thanks to the guts.
But yeah in challenging content I go with castoria sometimes. And the attack buffs she brings are also **good** don't just write those off. Van Gogh likes attack buffs. And the np gain up.

it was a very good breakdown! tho i think you have a misunderstanding about Van Gogh's kit/team options
you mentioned many times how allies that apply curse are GOOD for her! and its what you should aim for!.... that... that is a MASSIVE misunderstanding of her kit... will try to explain why
gogh's entire plan is sucking her own 100-damage curses back to herself.... so she can use her giga battery... their 10 turn duration means that on a second press of that button... she is very likelly to get 80%+ and in most cases 100% off the bat.... and this is where the misunderstanding starts....
gogh or her teams gains NO BENEFIT from the enemies being cursed... she gets +damage when she cleanses a curse FROM HERSELF.... the enemies being cursed does nothing....
and you could say "but she can take the curse for herself"... yes and thats bad... she works because her curses are 100 damage each.. if she has 10 fucking stacks ... she will only take 1000 damage.... now if jacques uses her NP... and gogh sucks the curses... now gogh is taking 4K damage PER TURN... if she sucks jacques curses.. or god forbide jacques NP'ed twice... gogh will need to DESPERATLY look for a way to cleanse her curses as fast as possible or her HP will be gutted down.. and the 100-damage curses will serve as a buffer to make it so cleansing them willt ake multiple turns
and then you can say "well she has Curse of Sunflower A so she won't die!".... yeah.... she wont die.... but now in the spam of 3 turns she took 11K damage WITHOUT being attacked... instead of like *maybe* 1000..... sucking big curses... expecially AoE big curses like jacques... is fucking suicide for gogh and will Hamper the performance by a lot... because she will either fucking die from being hit 1 time after burning her entire HP with big curses.... or you will cleanse her with a mistic code/NP/ skill... and now ur next battery is mega gimped

I was just about to comment this. An FGOtuber (can't remember who) tried to use Van Gogh with double Douman for a video. They scrapped the idea because Gogh kept dying from being 1hp from all he curses she kept absorbing. She's better as a crit support /secondary dps but curse memes won't work with her.
another thing i've noticed is everyone is focusing on the pure damage potential of gogh through her quick cards (weird that many people don't mention summer BB for that but still), while one alternate playstyle is np looping, on my JP account i loved using castoria koyanskaya cause the NP gain, batteries, and 2 different card buffs give not only more damage for when she doesn't have any quick cards up, but also helps her looping and in turn terror stacking. the times when you go 6+ turns of the enemy team not being able to do anything is so satisfying, and of course the giant batteries, by not using the quick cards you can keep the curse stacks so when her battery is up again she gets the giant instant NP (and koyanskaya's cooldown on her battery can help with survivability by getting the party evade up (not to mention the party np battery and np down on enemy with skaya's NP)
@@Leonzell i made a *massive* comment in response to Oni's review of her... and one of the main point i brought there was exactly what you mentioned here... she works stupidly well with castoria (ofc) but also with many ARTS related units... because for a lot of the time you use her like an arts unit that just "happens" to have a bunch of quick cards... and yeah summer BB is (aside from being a S tier unit by herself) pushes van gogh, or god forbid 2 van gogh's, above the point where it could be considered balanced
Not to mention that Molay loses a good bit of damage if Van Gogh steals her curses. Curse teams just murder her and sort of miss the point of running a curse team in the first place, you know putting curses on the enemy.
Everyone focuses on trying to pump her damage as much and as fast as possible when she's best at surviving and consistently dealing out big crits.

Since Gogh is generally at 300 to 500% crit damage you usually don't want to bother to get her 15 or 25 or whatever more through the craft essence. That's a boost of like 5%. You can do better than that. You want to get her as much attack as you can instead, boosting her np gen is also great.
And the best support for Gogh is a second Gogh from a friend

She is so unique and strong, I'd totally roll for her... if Yang Guifei wasn't that hot, so I'll choose burn over curses, but good luck to anyone who rolls for any of them

Just a warning than when Pairing Van Gogh with Douman you need to be careful, Van Gogh's curse damage are only upto 600 all curses combined but Douman's curses are around 1k per stack and 2k from his third skill so you need to either remove it ASAP or use a healer. While Van Gogh can't die from curses she can still die from external hits.
Does her third skill remove the most damaging curse or is it in order of obtaining?

Summer BB also does a great job with Van Gogh too! Locking in Van Gogh Quick cards gets her more boosts from her 3rd skill, 12 free stars, and Summer BB could be a secondary DPS because she's also an Entity of the Outer Realm.

Tough call, but I would recommend Muramasa since he's only had 1 rateup so far.
Got her, don't have any of those nice 5 star supports you showed though lol. I think my main options are just Calamity Jane and... Osakabehime... but she's too cute to ignore even if my Super Orion is going to outclass her for awhile lol. Might pull for Douman but I really need Muramasa for my saber comps since I keep struggling whenever I have to fight lancer waves.
Worth noting that Muramasa has had a single non-paid quartz rate-up to-date. While rare, there will be more chances for Douman.
Absolutely planning to roll for Van Gogh! Been saving for a little while and I'm hoping to score at least one copy, although I'd love to get NP2 if I got lucky enough.
But with Douman around the corner, I have to keep my eyes out for him too. Him and Gogh being so close together on release is just mean.
I'd rather upgrade my HaoHao to NP2 cuz she has been carrying my game since Orleans (my first 5*). Also that she is a crazy neutral ST damager with burn and double Castoria, I'll have to prepare her to fight big chungus.

Been arguing with myself if i should go for her or not since im going for douman. They work out well together but at the same time my luck isnt that good this time of the year. Maybe ill just go for her in her next banner.
Mostly divisive and the fact nearly everyone says she's fun but never necessary kind of paints a picture on how she's on an idea but nothing that has had anyone say she is an absolute must summon. And there are drawbacks to her kit if you're not careful with those curse stacks or have a def set up. Compared to other servants van Gogh is a servant who at best can only work with extremely specific set ups.
Myst rates her higher than Oberron or Spishtar.
she doesn't need extremely specific setups. She can solo, support herself, support another foreigner, get supported by skadi. She might be literally the most flexible servant in the game in terms of what setups work best.
The only reasons she isn't a must summon imo are A) her skill ordering and overall game knowledge to use is a little high so isn't great for newbies B) the only real reason you want a foreigner is to kill Cernunnos easier, and Yang and MHXX are better in that specific fight (forced support Castoria, the DoTs don't count as curses for Van Gogh, MHXX triggers her damage mod)

But today with Van only on rate up.
I got her on one multi.
I am satisfied and now just save for the other upcoming banners.
Definitely looks a fun servant if you can make her work. Interesting kit that’s for sure. I’ll probably pass this time, but she’s not bad at all.

Gameplay-wise not having Skadi and having Himiko is irrelevant for Van Gogh, 2 Van Gogh's (yours and a friends) and a taunt unit can beat most content in the game with no outside support.
Whether that means you should roll for her, is up to you.
Skadi is nice-however, a second Van Gogh is her best support. You can slot in another support based on what you want her to do. Contrary to what the video claimed, Gogh is _very_ flexible in her supports. Castoria gives her consistent battery for additional NPs, defense, and an Arts buff. Skadi increases her Quick and Quick crits (although Gogh can hit the crit buff max more or less on her own pretty easily, so this may not be as valuable as it sounds) and a single battery. Koyanskaya will be able to give her overcharge, battery, Buster buff and NP gen on her Buster card, and reduce the cool down on Gogh's skills. Summer BB can provide card lock, eliminating face card RNG. Himiko provides overcharge, Buster, and overcharge crit buffs on her NP and an attack buff that, and her first skill passively gens 24 crit stars per turn while active, on top of Gogh's NP generating 10 for herself. It is very easy to get both Gogh's to NP with a double-Gogh comp, and between those and Himiko, you will be passively generating 44 stars per turn, basically guaranteeing all crits.
I'm rolling on the pre release banner for Yang but if she's nice to me I might throw some multis at Van Gogh.

I'm planning on using her with Summer Okita. Okita is a fantastic star generator who also gets the double buff from Gogh's NP, so they support each other.
