Comia Peoples wept Sunday as she was reunited with Lexi the dog, who was found in the garage of their tornado-damaged Glenn Heights home. (Video by Irwin Thompson)
Love the scene with the little girl reaching out of the car for the dog. this little girl just went through a very horrific and traumatizing event in her young life , and even after all that , is still concern about her dog! what an amazing family! glad everyone survived!
Ljiljana Deluxe yeah. People tied up their dogs during the hurricanes that came through Texas and florida, that's abandonment (tying dogs outside where they can't run). But this family had only a matter of minutes to find shelter before the tornado hit.
I have to respectfully disagree on the "animals will always find a way" bit. We had a fire a while back that took the lives of two record holding cats. They were found in the basement and died due to smoke inhalation, too afraid to leave the house. The owners had left the doors and windows open after being unable to find them, but it did nothing to save them.
Over the years, I've seen a lot of disasters - mostly on TV plus a few hurricanes (I live in Florida). The one thing that happens, when families come back and find their beloved pet is they seem so relieved - the family is all there again. It's almost a script that you know will happen if only they can find them... because they have just been through something horrific and their priorities are very clear. Life before things. Family first - which always includes beloved pets.
Francisco Flores same goes for me...my daughter, hubby, dogs (2 rotties, pit bull, lab, a mix breed dog, and a 4 months old pup Cataluña/pit mix, also 2 cars) and even my chickens are coming with me...animals depend on us, and people don’t understand it and it pissed me off...
YOUR KIDS COME FIRST! WOW I FEEL FOR YOUR KIDS IF YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO GRAB A PET BEFORE YOUR OWN CHILDREN! MAYBE IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO YOU WE SHOULD LOOK FOR A PET FIRST BEFORE EVER THINK TO SAVD YOU!
Tacos Schermerhorn to be fair they couldn't find their dog in all the chaos and then weren't allowed back to look because of a gas leak. I would do anything for my dogs and this family seem pretty genuine
+Francisco Flores actually i know what had happend those are my cousins and they had been n the tornado and they couldnt do nothing because it was already n there house
People that appreciate pets most often make excellent parents. I love this Mother!

Francisco Flores Same here, but when a tornado is demolishing your house you don't have a choice about who or what ends up where.
How are they all doing now?
why would you save yourself and leave the dog? :/

There was nothing they could do once the storm was in the house. She couldn't even find her children.
