    Love the video's. I love the history of the tractors. I have a 66 also and wouldn't trade it for any other tractor! I live in Georgia and they're rare down here.

    Sounds like that little 66 was a money maker also for you since that is what you started with. It's always neat to see what people started farming with.

    Good story on a good tractor. You should give that one to your kid when you have one.

    Yep, when we rebuilt My 4240S we installed 4640 cylinder kit 4640 injectors 4640 turbo and the aftercooler Noticeable power increase....This model was assembled in Germany where most all tractors have MFD.. has been a lifesaver with the weather we've had these last few years.. Look for you when i see ya....

    • @Oliver66FarmBoy
      @Oliver66FarmBoy  Před 8 lety +1

      +gerald volkenand Dad needed a tractor when he was remodeling our house and for cutting fire wood so he bought that 77 for cheap fell in love with it and than bought a 4 speed 60 to go with it. We have had Olivers ever since. Started on 6 acres with my 66.

    I'm 18 years old and I'm on my last semester of high school. I want to be a farmer, I don't have land or equipment, and I don't know where to begin or how to do it.

    • @Oliver66FarmBoy
      @Oliver66FarmBoy  Před 8 lety

      +Jacob Van Heiden Well when you say you dont know how to do it, im assuming you mean you dont know how to farm? Thats something youre gonna want to start reading up on and learning about before you even consider throwing money at equipment. Equipment is going to be your next step, then find some land to rent.

    Good story!
    $2600, seems steep, but if that depends on the owner

    • @Oliver66FarmBoy
      @Oliver66FarmBoy  Před 8 lety

      +The American Outdoorsman Back then, $2600 was cheap for a 66 because you couldnt find them, especially wide fronts. Now that the internet has come into its own they are pretty easy to find so the price has come down a little.

    • @Farmall450
      @Farmall450 Před 8 lety

      +Oliver66FarmBoy that's odd. When I see a M listed for $1500 on Craigslist I think that's a bit steep.

    Why some red wheels with white grill and others have yellow grills ?

    • @gleanerk
      @gleanerk Před 8 lety

      Don't know much about Oliver's

    • @Oliver66FarmBoy
      @Oliver66FarmBoy  Před 8 lety

      +ScottyRockTrains The white grill is wrong it should be yellow. The grills on the streamlines, fleetlines, and supers were all yellow. They had red wheels from 1944 (If i remember correctly, might me 1940) until 1954 when the supers came out, then the supers had green wheels from 1955 to mid 1957 when the improved supers came out, then they went back to red wheels for the last part of 57 and early 58. Then in mid 1958 when the 3 digit tractors came out they went to white grills and wheels. If an older tractor (pre 1958) came into a dealer on trade it wasnt uncommon for the dealership to pain the grills and wheels white to try to match the paint scheme of the new tractors which is most likely what happed to my 66.
