This is exactly what I do. I get my hair braided at the hair salon and then when I want to switch it up I crochet in some curly hair, when the curly hair gets too matted I cut them out and it's back to my box braids. I like my hair very full so I do add a lot more curly hair. But this is also very cute.

Wow this method is so much easier!! I’m going to be trying my own bohemian box braids for the first time tomorrow and I wanted an easier way cuz I’m also doing knotless and I didn’t want to have to rack my brain too much to figure out how to feed in the curly pieces but also keep them out of the braid, if you know what I mean 😂 lol but thank you for sharing this video!

This is the tutorial I was looking for. I’m not a hair stylist and I just gave my daughter some knotless braids. She wants to try boho braids. I wanted to know how it would look crocheted in just incase they didn’t look right, I could slide them on out! 🙌🏾
I love this technique. It's better than the knot way because, in the other version, the curls slip. But taking the time to do this, I know the curls will not slip out. Now I know how I want to add curls to my boring braids ❤

I've always done this method for boho braids and I actually prefer it over feeding the curly parts in. The curly parts never last as long as the rest of the braids (unless they are human instead of synthetic) and being able to replace them helps them stay looking fresh. I also like being able to decide where to add the pieces of hair exactly in, instead of randomly placing and feeding. Lastly, I'm sure you slowed it down so that people can follow the tutorial.... it really doesn't take significantly longer with practice!

I tried this method last year for vacation. I didn't do every braid. The bad part was that it tangled so bad but the good part was because it was crotched in, I was able to cut those pieces out and still had a nice braided look. Lol.

That is true but this method is for those who aren’t able to feed it in while braiding or if you’d had your braids and eventually want to turn them into goddess braids. Don’t knock it cause it’s not for you or cause you don’t need the technique 🤷🏽♀️

This does "seem" labor intensive, but really a great idea to extend the life of your hair style. I knot the crutches using super small stands. Goes faster for me. But great method!

Why do braiders keep recommending freetress synthetic hair? Or any synthetic It tangles and doesn’t last past a couple days
I think braiders recommend Freestyle because it was one of the brands mainly sold & marketed before the other brands came out.
I like this method especially for me who will be using synthetic hair, once it gets matted i remove it and neaten up the hair or even change the colour.

It’s all bound to tangle, you must get some moose, leave in conditioner and water, oil is optional but would significantly help!

Knotting it would make it look less natural. It’s supposed to look like a piece of hair is coming out not like a piece has been added on top 🤎

Up to 8 weeks depending on the condition of your hair. The bohemian part depends on the type of hair used and the upkeep of it.
I'm getting knotless plaits soon imma add my own damn curly hair just like this lol she charge another $60 for bohemian knotless 🙃😮💨

You can take the curly out once they get frizzy and just put in new curly hair

What’s the difference between this and goddess braids? :)
For me, the hair is only on the ends for goddess braids as opposed to bohemian which is throughout the braids. Some people would name these goddess. It just depends on who you go to.

I got lost after the 2nd pull through.
I could see this working and killing time by crocheting the hair in after every couple of inches that way if you can’t feed in but don’t want to take extra time.

What’s the purpose of adding hair to braids?? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of having it braided?? I seen someone with these and thought their hair was coming loose.. Idk, it looks like someone can’t decide what hair style they want so they get two.. idk, just weird to me, the braids were perfect in my eyes before adding the extra hair to them..
