He’s was very on and off last season, better to give him some competition to bring him back to his old (great) form
@@nxhuel8674 it was only off for the latter end of the season, he pretty much ran the midfield for the 3/4 of the season, but people wanna act like that counts for nothing. The sad part is nobody could step up when he was out of form. When Partey doesn’t play well, it reflects heavily on the team, shows how vital he is.
Really blows my mind. Partey, Rice, Odegaard is a much better midfield.

Swap Holding for Tomiyasu...Holding will most likely be sold and I can see Tomiyasu and Saliba being the right centre-back options with Timber/White at right back

@@dimunnpabebet7040 No, Tomiyasu is actually a centre-back, he is just very versatile and two-footed, hence why he has played a lot at right/left back for Arsenal. But Timber and White are both better on the ball, especially carrying the ball upfield, so they would be better suited at RB with Tomiyasu covering Saliba at RCB.
If they signed a top class goalscorer and a back up midfielder they would be my title favourites

Our starting 11 was good enough to win the league last season. Its the next 3/4 in line who were called upon when needed that let us down, Arteta is addressing this.
You need a cover for saka, and a striker ,saka always falls off at the end of season due to exhaustion and rightly so
@@prabhatsingh7577 Nelson would do the job just fine. As would Jesus. Arteta just didn't make good use of his subs last season, esp given Trossard could have slotted in as a false 9 or even in place of Saka who was overused. Same thing with Zinchenko and Tierney (who I honestly prefer in some games).

Honestly I think we’re targeting 25/26 season post Pep.
Football works in cycles and our young squad will be coming up to its peak by then.
Let’s face it, beating Pep’s City is an incredibly difficult task. I don’t think he’ll renew when his contract ends in 2025.
Whatever club is best placed after he goes I think could potentially have a good few years at the top.
Of course competing with Pep’s City is still the aim but don’t be surprised at a change happening in the PL post-Pep

I'd still say that Arteta has to keep Balogun because Jesus hasn't always been fit, and even when he is, he loves dropping into midfield more than being and out & out CF. Goals wins games. All these links to Mbappe are unnecessary if Balogun can do the job.

It's the end of the season that needs to be tackled. So the squad depth is good enough to do that

One 20+ goals a season striker will put icing on the cake for Arsenal.
If Rice starts with Haverts , both love driving the ball forward, this leaves the back line vulnerable, Partey will still be crucial coz he has a defensive mindset , Saka and ordegard plus martinelli are good on ball, now add on Haverts who is similar, the deep mid field is gonna be our major issue now that we have depth in the back line
I think it's going to be Tierney or Kiwior at LB with Timer playing as an inverted RB. This way, we'll have Rice and Timber at the base of midfield with Havertz and Odegaard further forward. This is a more defensively stable lineup IMO.
I agree. I think this will ultimately be how arteta lines the team up by the end of the season.
Why them over over Zinchenko or White who were great last season? Besides Rice the other 2 are depth options.
@theblackswordsman9951 Havertz will start eventually definitely (We wouldn't have paid all that money if not). Zinchenko is great and he will start at the beginning of the season but his defensive vulnerability is something other teams will look at. Timber, on the other hand, doesn't have any. He's also fairly creative and comfortable on the ball. Which is why I think we will swap around which full back inverts, timber inverting from the right to form the box midfield alongside rice. And a more defensive minded player like KT or kiwior coming into the left.
It's just a question of settling in the new players to our tactical set up. That might take a couple of months and so I'm guessing zinchenko, White and ESR will start the season playing fairly regularly but will be cycled out as we go on. That means we have a good set of players on the bench to rotate and to play in Europe and cup. Obviously they'll appear in the prem as well, just depends on the opponent.
@@fjt0149 Why would Timber start over Ben White tho? Yeah we payed a lot, but we payed more for White who is also used to the PL and was great last season. Timber will be depth and Havertz doesn't start over anyone else.
All the other players are better than him, Rice, Party and Odegaard in midfield is also much more balanced. You have Haverts, Odegaard and Rice then it is just too much work for Rice on his own, too offensive and unbalanced. I believe Rice will replace Xhaka and have a box to box role, being given more licence to get forward and carry the ball, while getting back and covering when the ball is turned over, as he is more mobile than Partey.
Saliba's injury last season was a disaster for arsenal.

Havertz will be different. We signed Ramsdale from a relegated club, we sign White the overrated English player as the people say, Ødegaard is a failed wonderkid at Madrid, Martinelli from 4th Brazilian league, and Jesus an unwanted player from City. We signed them all and turned them into better players. Just because you fail doesn't mean you have to give up. Sometimes all we need is the 2nd chance. And that's what Arsenal did to those players.
@@pe3497 Failing at a relegated club is mostly due to the overall team rather than a specific player. Financing being a key issue for smaller teams that go up and down in the league. Ødegaard was from a completely different league and same with the other examples. Havertz has been in main league football for ages, has played for a team that’s pretty much always expected to be at least top 6, and yet has consistently not performed this season. Not saying he’s going to be a complete failure of a signing, but you effectively bought Chelsea’s failed signing and gave them their moneys worth back.
A few successful players from completely different backgrounds doesn’t mean someone who’s tested in the prem and failed is going to somehow succeed. He was a shitter of a signing and you’re just hoping he turns out well. Arsenal needs to strengthen if they want to even get 2nd again, and instead they’re taking unnecessary risks by purchasing Havertz. Just doesn’t make sense.
Crazy how partey is being overlooked, the rice signing is a step sideways if we lose partey. Most dominant mf we have by a mile.

You'd hope they'd end up in the top four but I have a feeling that expectations will far exceed actual performance. Last season Arsenal surprised the rest with their quality and commitment. But this season the other teams know how Arsenal play and will adjust their tactics to stifle them. I think they'll end up fourth or fifth.

It's not enough to win 100%, but it's possible. Also, I see them fighting for another trophy, and having a decent Champions League run. Their only problem is they need a striker better than Gabriel Jesus.

Funny how Arsenal fans will be quick to say it’s the Chelsea environment but most of his bad traits were all evident in Leverkusen. Only thing is he was in a lower quality league so he was still able to get in goals.

I’m buzzing BUT If Partey leaves and Rice gets injured, our midfield would be Jorginho, Havertz, Odegaard. We would get run ragged. That’s why we have to get another DM to cover Rice if he gets injured

@HarryB307 ain't about showing it we need validated players. Nelson has shown he a good back up and makes impact Balogun hasn't shown that yet fully in this league. We need a full out striker at least that way we can play different formations and when people start noticing out style of play we have got a different alternative
@@southDemon16s we have loads of different people who can play up top mate. Nketiah (although I think he needs to go), Jesus, Balogun, Havertz, Trossard. They all bring different things to that position, we don’t need to look any further than our own bench. Balogun is rated as one of the best young strikers in Europe and he’s our reserve striker right now
They need 1 more center back. Holding is not in The same level. He proved last season that He does not have what it Takes to be in Arsenal

I have no idea why people assume people like Havertz and Timber are going to come in and start straight way. Declan Rice isn’t a Partey replacement he’s a Xhaka replacement and Havertz and Timber will be back up to Odegaard and White.

Gabriel Jesus plays like a midfielder. Goes deep like one, has the linkup ability like one, has the lack of goalscoring tendencies like one. In that sense we didn't need Jesus

i still think Nelson is too far of a drop off to be Saka's cover. If we are able to get someone who could genuinely challenge Saka for the starting spot I think we would be able to take another step forward towards the title.
I think Timber might play in that right back position, so that when Zinchenko inverts into midfield, Arsenal will switch to a back three where Timber will play on the right there. Competition for White!
