The largest floating solar power plant in Southeast Asia is starting operation in Indonesia’s West Java after a formal inauguration presided over by Indonesian President Joko Widodo on November 9, 2023. The facility, which is also the third-largest of its kind in the world, cost more than US$100 million to build. The plant was developed as part of Indonesia’s push for more renewable energy, and its plans to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2060.

In almost the last 10 years, the leap in infrastructure progress in Indonesia has been extraordinary since President Jokowi took office. Can you believe, almost all public facilities have been built like highway toll roads, new concept airports, goods and passenger ports, large dam irrigation projects, power plants, even MRT, LRT, Integrated BRT in Jakarta and the newest one recently officially opened for operation is High Speed Railways Jkt-Bdg just in periode last past 9 years. And projections for the next few decades have 100% been mapped and formulated as national strategic projects, which must be realized whoever the leader will be.

Yet it has a collective GDP of 1.4 trillion USD. Imagine the wealth of (and opportunities for) the upper 1 to 5% of its population; just staggering. While I do agree with persistent poverty over the past decades, the country has been growing and poverty has already been reduced due or in part by the "trickle down effect" created by its economic policies.

Because the light sun emitted not only give power to the photovoltaic panel but also heat it up
