I get that it’s extremely annoying when somebody pulls out in front of you, but I swear half these drivers speed up when they see it happen and make things worse lol

They do lol, even on some roads where it says slow down due to some junctions being obscured by hedges etc (Usually around country roads). They don't slow down they do the opposite. 🤦🏻♀️
So anyone who is trying to pull out doesn't really get a chance.
Some drivers are entitled and feel they don't have to follow any rules and carry on. I always slow down regardless because I never know.
All to get some dashcam footage to show their imaginary friends on social media. People will pull out in front of others, always have, always will, but a lot more patience and give & take is needed from these trigger happy nerds that feel empowered by their dashcams. And this comes from a tolerant person who has had a dashcam for eight years and I've never needed to upload anything from it! With mini roundabouts too many people approach them too fast; like a case of 'First Come First Served'. Pathetic.
Even though it was 24 years ago I seem to remember my driving instructor saying "Even if you have right of way. Proceed with caution"
Nah that's not how it works anymore. People aren't allowed to make mistakes you just lay on the horn and that means you're in the right.
I follow Ashley neal on youtube. As he says, a good driver can make a bad drivers actions a non incident.

I could be wrong but I believe on some of the newer cars, an emergency brake is detected that then implements a full stop, which seems like a bloody daft idea to me. Anyone here with one of these modern heaps of crap that does this can confirm?

You can see the van in the camera which is mounted on his windscreen.... If that vans behind him that camera defies physics 👍 plus the fact that he clearly accelerated to close up on the car in front to prevent a merge. THEN makes a stupid overtake just to prove a point that didn't need proving. He's an arse, simple

Ripple Rider sees person in front about to change lane to exit left then proceeds to change lane accelerate and attempt to block them. Even though Ripple Rider had zero reason to change lane when they themselves weren’t exiting.

That's why after the "knock" Ripple Rider doesn't commit to the slip road but remains on the roundabout to leg it I suspect.

There’s one I use on a daily basis with worse sight lines than that and people fly through it from my blind side because they have a clear view of what’s entering from the right.
Gently touching on the brakes should be a habit when meeting every mini roundabout. Slow down enough to properly assess the situation. Or, you know, go absolutely charging through. Whatever.
It's not that restricted. I don't even think the car looked to it's right.
The car coming from the left is an absolute idiot though. They had plenty of time to look and still drove into the side of the cammer

In the second one he was totally oblivious to what was happening around him, does he suffer from tunnel vision. Good job the delivery driver was aware and saw the idiot in the BMW overtaking at a junction. Now I think about it maybe he does have tunnel vision, he never reacted to the first one until the van was fully onto the carriageway.

@@Captain-Cardboard No Lewis should have slotted behind the van, at the start of the clip the van was in front and in the outside lane so Lewis was undertaking knowing that the vehicle to his right would have to filter. Also the blind spot on a commercial vehicle is a lot larger on the left hand side making it harder for the van driver to judge if the lane is clear or not. Lewis was just being a dick

@@FFVoyager A quick check on Google Maps shows there are speed limit repeater signs on the lamp posts immediately before the junction. According to those it's National Speed Limit.
9:37 if you go over the middle of the roundabout, don't be surprised when people are not expecting it.
To be fair they would have just hit the other car in the side instead of the other way around. Both drivers were going far to quickly as they approached and entered the roundabout to do so safely. I'd bet it ended up being a 40/60 or something similar on the insurance, or if the insurance pulled the "black box" and determined both cars were say exceeding the speed limit of the round and/or roundabout they could just not cover the accident at all.
So many people don't slow down approaching a roundabout and then drive over the top instead of going round and then yell "give way to the right" at anyone who doesn't have time to see them coming.
@@Torsin2000 It was the perfect result, both drivers had no intention of obeying any give way rules ( as you pointed out. approach at a speed so that you can stop if needed, preferable with the whole of the vehicle still behind the give way lines.) Maybe next time they will think about before they kill someone.

The van should have merged behind in that situation. However it was clear the van had to get in front since getting there a few seconds faster would save a life. So Lewis still should have just let the idiot van driver do their thing.
@@benbristow8412 merge in turn has nothing to do with this situation. It's mentioned once in the highway code. Rule 134. Read last line of it. It also doesn't say, mirror signal manoeuvre does not apply.

When somebody jumps into my lane I use my brake. Apparently some driving instructors suggest using the accelerator to speed past the crash looking super fly for the dash cam.

The clip starts with the cam car moving over from the right lane pretty slowly so he was probably holding the Audi up on purpose. Something definitely happened previously to warrant that response
I've driven that road countless times and I can see that maybe Brian antagonized the Audi driver.

My guess is he was in outside lane and wouldn't move over audi started tailgating and Brian brake checked audi and kept then changing lanes and kot letting him pass,

Naah. If someone is being that much of a cunt, it's quite okay to block them in until you're certain the blue car on the right will end up in front of them. Cutting corners like that is highly dangerous when it involves cyclists or bikers on the road, so good to make it a uh... educational moment.

Looked like the BMW saw the lorry wanted to turn and was trying to pull back in behind it. Andy closed the space down, so the BMW took the next safest option of overtaking the lorry too.
Sure, he probably shouldn't have been overtaking, but Andy contributed to making it worse.

Yes the other car was in the wrong but slowing and properly navigating the mini- roundabout, instead of flying across it when you see the other car has not stopped, can often help your case if you ever do hit someone doing that

I am really wondering if ripple rider meant to send in a clip of their awful driving. A tiny number of cammers do that and admit it. If they think what they did is fine, how did they even get a licence?
If they did it on a driving test the examiner would end the test as soon as possible due to the clear evidence they can't drive safely.

I think you'll find both will bear the insurance cost of that one. I'd say the VW was more to blame for thinking they could use the right lane and take that exit, without making sure it was safe to do so.

There is more to Brian H's video @5:03 than shown here. It is a 40 limit, but at the start he is only doing 28MPH. As the other car overtakes he speeds up to 46 before the other car brakes and then go back up to 44 before he has to slow for the lighs.

That Audi driver put himself directly into the lorry's blind spot, and stayed there. If you are going to pull out in such a situation, then hang back until the lorry driver has a chance to see you in his mirrors.

I thought it proved that guy in the HGV drives like a wank. The kind of guy who blows through red lights, drives into roundabouts with no consideration for anyone else and cleans ppl up on the motorway because mirrors are for making sure u got that bit of bacon out ur teeth and nothing else.

If you were you would know that it's hard to get a gap big enough to pull out in so sometimes you have to pull out half way and then hope someone coming the other way will let you out . You should ride shot gun in a articulated truck one day to see the issues faced .

I literally thought the same thing. Rather than lifting off slightly at the sight of the corsas indicator they clearly thought "nah, let's have a bump and then come to a full stop in a live lane" 🙄

at the start of Clip 5:04 the car of Brian is coming back to the left, no context for what's happened. Something has gone on before this and we have got the end, Brian sounds like he writes to the supermarkets because they didn't have enough people on the till to serve him 😂

My first thought was what had Brian done to wind up the Audi!
If you look at his speed at the beginning of the clip it's 28mph, then he accelerates fast to 40. There's a good chance he brake checked or cut off the BMW before the clip.
Definitely something beforehand that Brian H does NOT want us to see...

I live in 'murica, so not familiar with the Highway Code there, but I assume you're not supposed to drive into roundabouts at top speed... Nutters. Are you supposed to come to a stop, or near stop?

You can slow down when entering a roundabout guys, and there's no rule to say you must accelerate if a van is getting on at the same time as you miles away just to get as clip.

Unlike the red car behind, which perfectly demonstrated how to do it properly. May not have made the eejit in the Pug drive any differently but at least the insurance company will have nothing to baulk at.

@@LITTLEbigREG Fully agree. If either driver approached the roundabout at a sensible speed they wouldn't have crashed.
@@craigmarsh9676 - the cammer didn't have their speed displayed so it's hard to say if they were going too fast. Even still, the cammer is fully on the roundabout before the Peugeot even gets to the giveaway line.
I'm sick of seeing self righteous cammers driving like arseholes over mini roundabouts. Driving like that means it only takes a minor mistake from somebody else (such as this instance where the cammer was probably obscured by the pug's A frame) and bang! Cammer will swear blind it was the other driver's fault but if the cammer was a good driver it wouldn't have happened at all.
