Thanks for the review. I test drove a couple weeks ago and liked it very much. At 70 years old one of the key things I look for is easy access in and out of the car. This gives me a sedan that is very easy to access. It does have a spare tire which is important to me and it’s below the trunk space. It’s on my shortlist.

    • @donniee.2238

Nice! That's great info too. Spare tires are a hit and miss on some of these vehicles today. We love spare tires.

I was curious that if they Crown is a replacement to the Avalon, how is the demographic of the Avalon going to accept the Crown. I am glad the height works well! Are you intimidated by the tech?

    • @robertbaxter2684
      @robertbaxter2684 Před rokem +3

No I’m not intimidated by tech I just take it slow and steady :-). I’m retired and I have time to learn. I am one of the few people that actually likes to read the owners manual. And, I love all things cars.

I recently got the Crown, and my eldery parents have a much easier time getting in. Buying the Crown was an easy decision only because getting the Camry or even the 2023 Prius had such a high markup (10k!!!) in my area (California). I was able to get the Crown under MSRP because it is definitely not popular. Often times people look at the sticker price to compare, but fail to realize market conditions, aka dealership greed, as a factor. 😥

robert, I'm 71 YO, and your comments are Spot On. I have a 22 MDX , a 3 Row SUV which I don't need. I love the look and the redesign of my MDX , however, it likes gasoline. This Crown is very appealing, especially the Platinum version. It is different from a 2013 Infiniti M37X I had in looks, but the M37X was slightly higher up creating ease of access and exiting the car. It had terific Pep , handled very well, and was very Underrated in car circles in that era. I definitely would look at this car that would replace my MDX when the lease expires next August.

Toyota missed an opportunity by not putting a hatch in the back like the VW Arteon, could have been more useful and get people away from SUV's. Great review.

Good review, I overlooked the crown. Currently drive 2018 ES300H which is a great car only complaint is ingress/egress a bit low for my battle worn knee. Been on the lookout for a sedan with a proper trunk and a bit more (step in, step out) height rather than (fall in , climb out)

I test drove one and it absolutely.sold me. They are sooo beautiful and STRIKING in person. The interior is soooo comfy, ingress /egress is amazing. I love all the tech features, ventilated seats are awesome, it sits up so much higher than i expected and is comfy on my back. Currently my.bf has a 2020 sentra which sits too low for my height. Thus crown is perfect. We test drove the platinum and...this thing gets up! Handling is great, quiet cabin. I was just in awe! I cant wait to get mine!

This is a great video! And yes, i bought a red Toyota Crown, and i love it! It's definitely a head turner as people keep asking me what it is on the roads even (waving at the lights haha). It's got the unique, sleek sporty look and i wouldnt trade it in for anything because, as you said, the rest of the cars just look like cars while the Crown features a really special design 😊

We wanted the height of this vehicle for ingress and egress. I am 6 foot and didn’t not want to crawl in and out of a Camry. Actually we sat in a new Camry and we were going to leave the shown room to look for another vehicle elsewhere when the salesman mentioned the Crown Limited that just arrived two days prior. It was exactly what we were looking for a hybrid sedan. This is what my wife wanted to replace her old Taurus sedan as that is her preference in vehicles. I love all the options including the heated seats / steering wheel along with all wheel drive will be a blessing here in the cold snowy winter.

Thanks for the video. i have been waiting for your video on the crown. I bought one last month after giving back my RAV4 XLE premium. I like this car very much, but my wife still likes my Rav 4 2021 XLE premium, she likes that more for getting in out as we are age 75 plus. But a RAV4 is any other common car on the road but very reliable. But this one driving is better than the RAv4, it is AWD too. So far one negative thing in this is the space for putting my things in dash board and around there. But is has more room in the centre console. Fuel economy, a full tank shows 1035km distance remaining. I get like 19km per litre and I drive normal mode and I don't do quick acceleration. I have question to you regarding the extended warranty any comments. I did not take it. But I wish I could have taken the Toyota scratch and windshield etc warranty for 1300$. But They said after one month they need to go through many trouble to give me. But I can still take the Platinum Auto Guard warranty. Whats your opinion on this. I was thinking of booking a Venza and see if I should change this for Venza , please your opinion please or video on it of the comparison . i like your videos very much. You don't beat around the bush. Your talking is not boring like the other guys drag a lot with lots of mannerism. Your flow of talking is great . Thanks again, keep up the great work

Hmm, I might. I've been wanting to move into an EV but the charging infrastructure is still lagging so hybrids have been on my mind for quite a while. I liked the Avalon hybrid and the Camry hybrid, have a regular Accord (long time Honda fan) and have bee eying their hybrids, too but my wife (frequent passenger) likes 'ute level ride height so this might be right up our alley.

Excellent and comprehensive review. Personally, I'm not sold on the front fascia's grill. It lacks the unique character of the Lexus spindle, or BMW kidneys...
The rest is lovely. But if I couldn't afford the Lexus ES, I think I'd go with the Honda Accord's handling, clean looks and more affordable price.

    Great review, as normal Shari.
I couldn’t help but notice that an all new vehicle with the 1990 dark, depressing, gloomy, Fugly Gray or Death Black interior colors.
It’s not your fault, but hopefully Toyota, Nissan, Ford, and every other automaker will take notice that most people are sick and tired of the 34 year old dated interior colors.
I refused to buy the Venza for that reason alone.

For $72k (taxes etc) for a Platinum here in Canada, I'll stick to my 2022 Venza. As for the hybrid system being fully "debugged" I'd have to caution that Toyota has an issue with the system where it will rust and cause very expensive repairs, and they are dragging their feet in admitting it and covering it under an extended warranty. I expect it will come eventually, but it's not a good look on Toyota Canada IMO
