How long does it takes to get your VISA after your interview and I guess there is courier facility to get your passport with VISA delivered at a particular address?
They say you will get your passport within a 7 days. However I got it in 2 days. Yes there is a facility to get you passport delivered to your address, but that is for an extra fee of ₹650.

Can u pls tell us that after i20 how long days after you got appointment for your interview because in dehi it takes 4-5 month
Depends on when you get a slot. After I20 there is a whole process to first fill your ds160 pay your SEVIS fee and then book an appointment. Appointments are book based on availability.
Does the file folder you are carrying have to be transparent or a zip non transparent folder would work? And also is a watch allowed?
So in the instructions mentioned it says that it has to be a transparent folder, however, I found a lot of candidates having a non transparent folder and i didn't see anyone objecting it.
I personally would recommend a transparent folder.
A smart watch is not allowed, a simple watch may be fine. But i did not take any watch so I am not very sure about this.

I am not aware of any lockers system outside the US consulate.
Sir I change my DS application and genrate new confirmation number but appointment on old confirmation number now which form to cary at the time of interview
You should carry the ds160 form that is linked to the appointment confirmation. The ds160 number on your appointment confirmation is the one. If you want to take the new ds160 you will have to book a new appointment corresponding to that.

I appreciate your effort and hard work. One question is there a seating arrangement while waiting in line ? When should you reach the consulate ? Like and hour before the appointment time ?
Thank you so much for the feedback. To answer your question it is recommended that you reach atleast half an hour early. However even if you reach say 15 mins early they will let you in. Just don't be late.

You can put the exact address that is in the appointment confirmation.
The US consulate is opposite trident hotel.
Or you can also put fountain of joy dirubhai ambani, it's besides it.

No such preference is mentioned. I recommend do whatever you are comfortable with.
I am appearing for a B1/ b2 visa along with my daughter. It was a single appln covering both of us and we got a single appointment scheduled time. So will the interview be taken at the same time with both of us in the same counter same time

I guess the safest and most convenient would be to book an ola/Uber. However it can be expensive around 200 to 300 rupees but I would recommend that. Or you could also book a rickshaw to save some money. Hope this helps. All the best.

Hi Pratik, Congrats. I need to know the Biometrics (OFC) and Consulate interview in Same place in Mumbai? In Chennai seems to be like OFC and Consulate are in different place, 2 Kms away.

Thanks for the wishes. To answer your question, I don't feel there is some called a 'best' counter. I feel just be confident, prepare well for all the important questions and that's all. You will get your visa approved as well.

I am not sure, there is a metal detector there so they will mostly tell you to remove it. I recommend not wearing anything of that sort.

Since you have booked your appointment, you may have paid the MRV fees. Thats all. They will not charge any extra money after that. You don't require any medical things.
If you are above 18 years of age, guardian cannot come along with you. You have to go alone inside. However the guardian can wait outside the building.

I am not sure about the rejection rate. You can apply for VAC as well as interview at the cgifederal website.
If someone accompanies me to consular centre, where can they stay until I finish interview? Is there any place for that nearby Mumbai consulate?
Your interview wont take very long it should be over in like max 1 hour. They can stay outside walk around BKC

Hi Sharan, thanks for the wishes. The time largely depends on how many other candidates are there with you and how long is your interview. For me the process took 25 to 30 mins.
@@pratikian, if the domestic airline's departure time is 11, when can we finish the VI Time slot at 9 am and move on quickly to get into the airways?
@@srikanthbasani9999 so if your interview is at 9am, you should reach the consulate at 8.00 or 8.15am. They will mostly let you in by 8.30am. Now depending on the other candidates that have the same 9.00am time slot you will have to stand in the line. For me I almost took 15 to 20mins to get to the counters where the interviews take place. After thay depending on the visa officer your interview can be about 1min to 5mins mostly.
So according to the above logic, if you enter at 8.30 ... you should be out by max 9.00am. Say you come out by 9.30am (worst case senario), now from the consulate to airport it might take 30 mins , if there is traffic maybe 45mins. So you should be at the airport at 10.15am.
If your flight is at 11am, you should reach atleast 1 hour early. That is 10am.
According to me this is possible, but if you have some other option i would recommend, not to buy this flight, as it can be hectic at times. In Mumbai you cannot trust the traffic.
Incase you don't have any other option only then go for it.

I am enrolled in a PhD program. PhD programs are usually fully funded.
Did they communicate us in english while waiting outside embassy and inside embassy?
Just the interviewer is American. All others including the staff and security officers are Indians so mostly they communicate in hindi. Just the interview will be in english.

You can were a belt. Yes it has locker thar you can acess with an extra fee of ₹500

They didn't ask for documents/ financial documents (In your case, funds from the school proof)?
I did take all the documents with me, but they did not ask me to show it.

In Which Category you get visa
I got a F1 visa (student visa)
what is i 20 and which fee receipt? u told at 6:40
So when you get an admit from a US university, the university gives you a i-20, this is a legal document that mentions your name the course you are going for the university name and the financial details.
The SEVIS fee reciept, when you go to the US for studying you have to pay the SEVIS fee which is basically student exchange fee, once you pay that you will have to take the printout of the reciept.
If my visa is approved, when can i get my passport?
If i have opted for collection?
You will get a message on mobile (sms) in about 3 to 4 days.
Everything you said is correct about the facility and I would like to add the staff at the biometric, interview building right from the security officers to the interview officer, everyone is so Courteous, well manned, Warm, Professional, well spoken and they also address your queries in a polite way. It was a good experience at Mumbai 🙏🏻

Mobiles are not allowed. You can't keep them not even switched off.

They did ask me about my major. I told them that I am going to do Phd in Biomedical Engineering. And that was all. Nope in my case they did not ask me what i was doing. I guess because of the full scholarship, they acctually did not ask me a lot of questions

This depends on how many other candidates are there accordingly there will be a line and how long does your interview go. Mine took around half an hour.
What are the Mobile storage space charges?
Rs. 500. (I am not sure about the latest price, this was the price 1 year ago. I hope this is the same)

Can we take zip folder in the embassy?
You can but i would recommend you to take the harmonium folder as all the documents can be systematically arranged in it. But any folder you take remember it should only contain the documents.

@@srikanthbasani9999 I have less idea about hotels as I stay in Mumbai. However, when one of my friend visited Mumbai for her interview, she stayed at Embassy suits which is arround 800m from the consulate. The tarrif was arround 2500per day including gst.

@@bubly-227 since I live in Mumbai, I never had to book a hotel nearby so I am not very sure, however one of my friend lived in Embasy suits, she said that it was a decent hotel.

@@pratikian student visa M1. Also I made my medical on the month of July because I was scheduled to join on January 2024 for my vacational studies. But because I couldn't schedule my Visa appointment before january. My school decided to defer my application to next semester which is this June/July and i got appointment for february 26 2024..
So do i have to make my medicals from specific hospital or medicals again... Please let me also know about validity of Medical report... Thank you🙏

Can we ask the interviewer to take interview other than English? Like Hindi?
So while booking appointment there is an option to select your language of interview. Interviewers are Americans so its very less probable that they know hindi however, if you select hindi as your language preference i guess they have a translator that translates the language.

I had a couple of doubts...
1) Do we need passport sized photographs?
2) What's an I20?
3) What all documents do we need apart from our passport and fee receipt?
4) I have applied for my passport to be delivered at my place, is there anyone who opted for this?
5) How much time does it take for the visa to get approved and reach us?
1) No you don't need photos they will take your photo at the consulate during biometrics appointment.
2) i20 is a document given by the US university stating the course and other details for which you have got the admit.
3) there is a big list of documents and it changes from person to person i would recommend you to watch a video from ymgrad for this.
4) I am not sure when the Passport is delivered as I didn't take this service, I was called to collect the Passport after 3 days from my interview date.
