    Best DIY video on the windshield cowl replacement. This is the only one that shows how to easily remove the wipers. Others describe using a special clamp or a freaking hammer!

    Great tutorial! 303 is a great product, but it's not one and done for those that are wondering. Usually it will last around 3 weeks before a new application is needed. Not a big deal, just have to keep up with it when it looks dull again. I do like the idea applying it before installation as this would be easier. My original cowl lasted 10 years before needing replacement.

    Looks great. I changed the cracking weatherstrip around my windshield when I moved here back in ‘16. Few months later a local detailed jacked it up with his polisher 🤬. I guess now I can make the DIY video I didn’t do back then.

    After getting the windshield replaced, I noticed that the rubber edge of my cowl is no longer perfectly flush with the windshield. I think the windshield position shifted and the cowl is “remembering” the position of the previous windshield. I suspect replacing the cowl is part of the official BMW windshield replacement procedure. Any ideas?

    • @skrrtproductions
      @skrrtproductions  Před rokem

      Must be fault of the installer. I had my windshield replaced on my new F30, no cowl replacement. Depending on the condition of your cowl you might want to replace it, or go through the process of removing it so it can be properly flush again. I’d reach out to the person that did the windshield replacement

    Thanks bmw, this plastic cowl lasts less than a few years on a 50k car. $110 to replace something that would have cost BMW $2 to fix
