Boy I ran them D8H cats before and don't remember the turbo whining quite that loud!

What year did they ditch the pony motor?

Sounds great but that turbo whistle kills my ears!

What was the problem with that engine?

It had left outside for about ten years and water had entered to cylinders trough exhaust. I had to change liners, piston rings, couple of piston and valves because of corrosion.

Thanks :) Great job you have done :) along with changing pistons you have bored cylinders or only honed them?

Thanks. These big engines have wet cylinder liners and I changed them. Thats like having new cylinders in the engine. They are honed by manufacturer and ready for install. Actually these cat liners are so hard material that they can't be honed at home. The hone doesn't bite that metal at all.

Oh I get it :) Thanks for info :) I bet that "party" was pretty expensive... I'm dealing now with pretty "rough" engine (Kia Ceres 2.4 diesel), it sat for longer than 10 years, low compression on all cylinders, (leaking valves and stuck rings), i'm not going to rebuild, if it will run, great, if not, will be sold to parts.
