Just bought 2023 RTL 4 days ago. I am DIYer - so this is perfect vehicle for me. This is my 1st pick up truck. I have spent time just sitting in it getting things set up the way I want. Your video helped me identify the things I missed.
I bought this exact truck last month, the very first truck I have purchased. I love this truck!. Almost 1,500 in. Love the features and the extra bells and whistles also. This have best drive that I have experienced with a truck. My dad had the 2017 version and it made me want one when I got the chance. The best case scenario when you don’t haul too much and just want a good ride and I’m not looking back to a mid size sedan at all.
My husband kept borrowing my CR-V to transport stuff that wouldn’t fit in the trunk of his sedan. I didn’t enjoy the mess that sometimes made in my vehicle, so when we recently decided it was time to replace my 14 year old car, I got a 2023 Ridgeline RTL with the tonneau package (function+ I think). As a unibody AWD, it is not all that different from driving the crossover/suv I was used to, but the inside of the vehicle stays clean, and the bed hoses out easily. I love the tailgate that opens from the side (I’m short, so it makes it easier for me to reach in the bed) and I love the in-bed trunk. I know people keep saying the interior needs a refresh, but considering that my 2010 CR-V did not even have a backup camera, it’s a big step up for me.
The switchgear and tech is a generation behind the other Honda stablemates. Maybe a new Ridgeline is due next year, but the interior of the Accord, Civic, CRV and HRV is far more upscale than this Ridgeline. Having said that, I'd still choose the Ridgeline if I needed a pickup. But, I would feel like I bought Hondas' 'adopted child'.
I have a 2007 Ridgeline. It has been great. The interior and mechanical are largely the same. Some of that is fine - it’s a good everyday truck. That said I am a bit lost on why Honda doesn’t go for the jugular on the mid size truck market. Update the interior and make it a bit more plush. Raise the truck 2 inches. Provide a strong hybrid engine mated to the same v6 capable of upper 20’s to possibly 30 mpg and towing max around 7500 lbs. something like this would crush the mid size market. It doesn’t need to articulate on impossible terrain the AWD is great on snow and ice and enough for 90% of typical use.
If they update the Ridgeline with the new Pilot front fascia and interior they are partway there. If they add a Trailsport trim like the Pilot they're even closer. It does kill me a little that they're probably going to stick with the V6 from the Pilot. The big thing that would make most people switch to from a body on frame truck would be the gas mileage (exhibit A, Ford Maverick)
I went to the local honda dealer (about an hour away) to test drive a ridgeline and the sales person wouldn’t let me drive or even sit in one all they showed me was the fancy tailgate. i politely thanked them and left. they lost a sale that day. i went across the street and bought a maverick instead.

I bought a 2023 RTL in the same color as the one shown in the video. I am satisfied with my purchase. My only complaint is that CarPlay will disconnect from time to time.

I was thinking about one of these but when you look at a $29,000 vehicle, it ends up costing $35,000 in the end and the used Ridgeline was $41,000 and would have been over $47,000 out the door. I'm glad I never tried.

Not to like at that price? Is there only one power outlet in the bed? Tailgate not power locked? Tailgate not damped. Timing belt, not chain. Not a fan of push button shifting. Foot operated parking brake! Is 2024 a new gen year for the Ridge? I hope so.

Don’t know if anybody else pointed out, the eyebrow led drl is not included in the rtl. Only rtl-e or black edition have them. I think it’s pretty crappy honda did not make them standard. It’s like 5$ worth of led bulbs but if I want to add them I’d have to buy the headlight housings probably over 1000$ for the pair. SMH honda
When you make a video I suggest you have a camera person holding the camera. The constant moving of the camera actually made me nauseous trying to watch your video. Great truck though. I hope the Ridgeline bounces less then your camera.
I appreciate the recommendation, but I am just a sales consultant for a Honda dealership. I created these videos during my downtime at the dealership to help share information on the new Honda. junk. I have the black addition. Infotainment center is garbage. Voice recognition don't work worth crap. . Proximity walk away locks are not reliable. Windshield is too thin keeps breaking with small pebbles from the high way. I am going back to a ford edge.

The Ridgeline is a unibody, not built on frame like typical trucks.

Right around 3:03 you mention running lights, the long thing ones above the chrome trim. How do you turn those on in an RTL?
They should automatically come on when the vehicle is out of park.
Is the bed big enough so that you could lay down 2 bicycles and then cover with the tonneau top?

Alabama may have different lease programs than Iowas.

The AWD system is automatic, it kicks on when it detects it's required.
