The Ridgeline is the truck (and it is a truck) that 90% of suburban truck buyers really need rather than an F-150, Ram, Chevy, Tacoma, etc. but don’t realize it. Great ride, MPG, decent bed and clever storage, and generous towing capacity… what’s not to like?

The Honda Ridgeline is the best midsize pickup period. No other truck in the category has the ride and utility of the Honda . In reality nobody takes midsized trucks off road. Nobody tows motorhomes. Nobody carries coils of steel in the bed. What midsized truck owners do is commute, tow utility trailers, carry their quads/motorbikes. The Ridgeline is the best truck for those uses. There are some people who equate body of frame (old tech) as being required… not the smartest bunch as that technology should be reserved for the 1 ton + real work trucks.

Nice video. I currently have a 2011 F150 Raptor which is just awesome, but I do get tired of having to deal with it’s size when parking and even at home. I’m at 195k and it runs amazing, but I think my next move is a Ridgeline. My ego will have to get over it and hopefully my testosterone levels survive the change! 😂

You'll be fine. I had three Gen 2 Ford Lightnings in a row and eight Ford trucks total before getting the Ridgeline and I like the Ridgeline better.
I had 1400lbs of building materials in the bed to build my steps and could barely tell anything was in it. The trunk is great for carrying my dirty ATV riding gear and gas can without taking up bed space while hauling my ATV. The Ridgeline is a great comfortable vehicle and like you said, bigger trucks are a pain to park, the Ridgeline is stress free driving.

Ridgeline is the best mid size truck on the market. Most who bash it have no experience with it what so ever. I’ve had 5. I pull a two place 19 ft enclosed snowmobile trailer with sleds with zero issues. I’ve also pulled a 21 ft 4200 lb camper with no issues. Most dependable trucks I’ve ever owned.

As someone who drives German cars, I want a quiet ride with the ability to pickup things from the big box stores on occasion. A quiet ride is a must and this seems to fit well. I definitely don't want to maneuver or park a giant truck in parking garages.

I was set on a Tacoma. Drove everything. Bought the Ridgeline RTL-E. I drive long distances. I am an Ironman and avid hiker and camper. I make the Home Depot and Ikea runs. I tow a camper. Great video. Love my '23 RTL. I've owned (5) 1/2 ton trucks and (2) full size suvs since the early 2000s and none of them can even come close to the ride and practicality of this ridgeline. I've towed with all of them, from waverunners to car trailers and boats. Once I didn't need the 5,000lb+ tow capacity I decided to go test drive a Ridgeline to "rule it out" before I test drove the Tacoma, GM twins, Frontier, and Ranger.... I didn't make off the lot, I bought the RL that day and traded in my 2020 F150. I've since towed my 3,500lb boat/motor/trailer all over the ozarks since then and this RL is all the truck I need.
Fun note: my 1997 F150 only had a tow rating of 800lbs more than my 2023 Ridgeline.. and the RL has more HP, TQ, more gears, and larger & better brakes.

Great video! We have a 2023 Black Edition. Love it! We came over from a 2018 Toyota Tacoma Sport. That was a great truck, but I didn’t use it for what it was made. Knocked my knees every time I would get in and out on the steering column. Never tow anything over a couple thousand pounds, and the only off roading we would do is dirt roads. The Ridgeline just fits our family better. Love the in bed trunk, the rear seat a/c and heating vents. More safety features than I’d ever hoped for. The ride of the vehicle. The capless gas tank. The seating positions, especially the adjustability of the drivers seat…and the list goes on and on. Don’t let the haters get on your nerves too much. There will always be riff between brands and models. Keep up the great content! I for one appreciate it!

@@parkwayclassics8443 I agree. You get a lot. The only things that I really wish it had was 360 camera view, I wish the U.S. models had vented seats for the summertime. Other than that, it tics every box for our family. Really enjoying the heated steering wheel, windshield, and seats. Enjoy the 3.5 mm aux input in the center storage that folks forget about. Enjoy the bed audio in the summer at the drive in. We also enjoy the “trunk” much more than we originally thought. Holds a bunch of groceries without them sliding around the bed. I like that the steering wheel shakes if you are in lane departure mode, and doesn’t just flash a little light, and beep. I like the placement of the blind spot monitoring light as well. Lots of likes with this truck!

Its a great truck for what 99 percent people actually use trucks for. Advantages are ride quality and interior space which, if you think about it, is important considering the vast majority of truck owners never leave the pavement. I'm always amazed how tight trucks like the Tacoma and Colorado feel on the inside. The bed size is sufficient for what most people use it for as is the trucks towing capacity. Its really a great option for the vast majority of potential truck owners.

Some folks picture a truck as being big, lifted, and loaded with features like huge tires and a powerful engine, priced at a hefty $85k. But in reality, most of the time (around 80-90%), it's just used for regular driving, with some owners never even using it to tow anything. Everyone has different needs when it comes to trucks. It seems like some people mix up the idea of masculinity with owning a big truck. I believe the Ridgeline is the ideal option for those seeking comfort, easy maneuverability, and practicality.

I'm actually glad to get one of these with this old school powertrain because it will be extremely dependable for decades if properly cared for.

I don't tow much, so 5000 lbs work for me, but it's excellent for Home Depot/Lowes runs and traveling. I have a tonneau cover, which is perfect for traveling. What I would complain about the most is that the bed needs to be deeper, but it works 90 % of the time for what I use it for.

Have a 2020 RTL-E. Love it. Haul two dirt bikes in it all the time, but still small enough to fit in the garage, and the BIG PLUS is my wife loves to drive it, which really improves the versatility around the house. The in bed trunk is amazing, interior is comfortable with kids in the back, which I don't think we could say about a compact truck.
Yes, many are confused about this truck. It would seem impossible that this truck is larger than a Tacoma and has a higher payload, but it does. Is it as capable as a F150? No, but it's not a full sized truck. A Tacoma can't carry or two what a F150 does, either, so I don't know why you'd even compare. The full sized trucks suck to park and can't fit in the garage. I have zero need for any more than the Ridgline offers.

Great vid. I love my 2022 RTL-E. It's actually my second Ridgeline. I previously owned a 2017 for 5 years and never had any issues with it. The only reason I traded it in was because I liked the aesthetics of the new version.

I did my research. Wanted a pickup that I can fit in my garage. Was reliable and affordable. Not too small or ugly like the Maverick.
So on a windy day right after Thanksgiving. I test drove and bought the 2023 RTL. For the price and my needs it's the best truck. There's so much I like about it. Especially the large storage in the bed.
I didn't want to wait for the 2024. Because they took away the arm rest. And I got 2k off with 2.9% for 60 months.
You wouldn't believe how many people talked about it. Most don't need a full size truck.
And I took off VCM and the start stop which I hated.
I could careless about the haters. Because they never drove one.
And I love how you don't see them everywhere.

I had a 07 ridgeline sport. Put 230000 miles on it and the most repair maintenance is a replacement alternator @ the 200K mark. Sold it to my neighbor and its now at 300K. My replacement is a 2019 sport (never liked leather seats) and now have 130K on it. I am thinking about getting a 23 or 24 model and this video helped show me what the difference are between the two models. Dont know if I will but thank you for this great video.

I drive a Honda car and would like to go Ridgeline for my next vehicle. Though I am having the same debate as the person at the end of your video. The base model F-150 4x4 is slightly cheaper than the Ridgeline. I agree like you said the Ridgeline has a lot more standard options, but it still makes it tough to go for the Honda. Maybe more importantly is the used market with F-150's is loaded in my area, while there are very low amounts of used Ridgelines. So loaded used F-150's become way cheaper than used Ridgelines.

Honda is a brilliant company. And. They don't just make vehicles. I feel if they really wanted too, they can improve on the cons on this truck and even make it more off road compatible and towing capacity and give it better or at least equal par to Toyota Tacoma. Honda is that good and well respected. In my opinion it depends on what you're looking for. Overall, this is a very nice and good truck. This truck I think in later future models will only get better and more powerful.

I was so close to buying a Ram 1500, they ride great on coils. Still a little boucy as they're sprung for hauling more payload and towing more. I just didn't need that. Ridgeline is nice daily commuter vehicle that does Truck stuff when I need it to.

Been researching every midsize truck offering, and the Ridgeline makes the most sense for me. For the serious off roader or someone that has a need for larger towing, obviously look elsewhere. But those are the only categories Ridgeline falls short on.
Functionality is superior, it’s roomier, rides nicer, and has a larger payload than some of the other mid size trucks. And you’re not going to get beat up at the gas pump.

I had a 2021 sport. I loved it. The only reason I traded it is because it had manual adjustment seats, and I could never find a comfortable setting. If I had gotten an RTL with the leather electric seats like my wife's Pilot, I would have kept it.

Nice informative vid. I’m thinking of trading in my 22 Tacoma but my big concern is that I need a low range trans because I live in the mountains with ice and snow. Does anyone know if the 24 Trailsport is able to really gear down for those icy decents when you can’t touch the breaks?
