Thanks for the hydraulic pump change. That's a lot easier than taking half the tractor apart to get it out the top. My 2520 pump leaks enough that I'm thinking about changing it. I need to find a rebuilder.
My son bought a non running 1968 4020 at an auction today for $3200. We got it running easy enough but it has no hydraulics at all. We are going to check it out tomorrow. It has a real bad return line fuel leak but it will idle or when you pull down the throttle, it gets to maybe 1000 rpms but thats all it will go. We have to check that out also.
Does it drive? If zero hydraulics I would see if the pto turns on, if so then trans pump must be working, Destroke valve in main pump is likely, look at coupler shaft from front pulley, they can strip on shaft.
This tractor came from canada and has a non adjustable front axle and 18.4-34 rear tires. It does have 3pt hitch. Not sue if its a standard or not. It has a cab but no fenders. The cab has doors that slide front to back on the inside. I think it has to go.
Love the shop videos. How about that hydraulic jack?! home made deere cylinder that runs on air? pretty neat! I have been very happy with the wapsi kits I've installed. nice to have pioneer ends without a crappy aftermarket skidding barrel kit that will eat seals.
I just got a 2022 massey ferguson dm287 . Looking forward to using it.. Just need to get my tractor from 1900 psi to 2100 psi to be able to lift it... unfortunately the valve for that is under the cab and fuel tank so what a process.. damn engineers
@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 that is excellent to hear... thanks again for the review.. hard to find them in action and know how they have held up.. hope to get 10 to 15 years with low problems.. well see how her first year of mowing goes
Does yours have conditioner? There is a flat windrow wheel on the right end behind the cutter bar, make sure it is up some and good clearance between it and the cutting turtle right there. Make sure them bolts are tight. Mine came loose a couple times and then that wheel is in the knives.
@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 I don't have conditioners on mine. Just the swath disc such as yours.. thank you for telling me that. I'll be sure to check on that.. especially sense it was just built .. I've heard alot of people say to get a pull type conditioner or the hay will never be dry but I Ted it right after it's cut and about 3 times more before raking it ... how have you noticed with your windows and moisture compared to ones without the rollers??
Are old John Deere from the 90s make a very perfect windrow and it does dry a little quicker. But in alfalfa the leaf retention from not conditioning there's a lot higher I cut it rake it and fail it because for the most part I'm not trying to make dry hay In grasses I would question that if it's leafy brass the dry town probably wouldn't be a whole lot different but if it had a bigger or hard stem maybe a conditioner mower would be a faster dry down
Tricks of the trade.. makes it easier 👍 35bu wheat?? Dang. What's your seeding rate?? Fall planted here is 100-125# Spring planted is 125-150# Yields average 120+ fall and 100+ spring..

Ha, 80 bushel corn was the norm 30 years ago.lol I can plant some of the same corn hybrids that the guys out by Larson Farms area can. I have a 1971 Deere 2020 Manheim tractor that has manual steering. How hard is it to convert it to power Steering? I can buy the steering column for around 800 dollars and have been told it should swap out easily. You then plumb in a supply line to the unit make sure you have a case drain hole in the housing for return and Bobs your uncle you have power steering. Can you advise on this?
We have used some of them aftermarket chemicals that you pour into the tank and slowly roll it around, makes kind of a liner. Patch in new piece, or all state ag parts might have a used or new aftermarket

Just about to grab all the chemical i need next week... always a big hit to the checkbook.
