One man's blessing is another man's curse. There are several countries that are scared right now. Especially the one's who's entire government runs on Oil.

shale exploration will go bust soon unfortunately. Costs now are too expensive, if oil price drops shale explorers will have to shut down. OPEC have killed shale in the US

There are pumps in Texas that have been and are still producing oil for a hundred years.

Fracking oil drops off after only 1 year. Wells must be refracked. Destroys more water, causes more earthquakes, fills the upper atmosphere with both CO2 and methane. Methane is 100 times worse for global warming than CO2.

The coming conversion to all electric vehicles will make petroleum fuels almost worthless. Do not invest any money in the oil business.

Yup Russians have some serious Satellite chops to see half a mile underground from 100 miles up! any more Russian urban legends you want to share comrade?. The cash the US spends comes from Taxation, and with a GDP of 9 Trillion dollars thats allot of money young nugget! take the oil industry out of the equation and the GDP drops to 7.8 Trillion. Pro tip: do some research instead posting crap like this

Oil is NOT a declining resource, as had been thought for the last century.
We now know that oil deposits were laid down in the contental shelves and shallow seas during the Mesozoic during periods of anoxic seas.
Global anoxic oceans occurred many times during the Mesozoic. They occur when atmospheric CO2 gets very high, the earth gets very warm, and the ocean conveyor shuts down. The ocean depths stop getting oxygen, and they become anoxic.
So, oil is expected to be found in high amounts in all the contental shelves.
That is why the South China Sea, the Arctic Ocean, and other areas are fought over, even before any exploration is done.
FYI - Texas was a shallow sea during the mesozoic. That is why so much oil is found there.
Also, there was no polar ice, so the oceans were much deeper than today.
The oil we are using will put back the CO2 Mother Nature sequestered in the Earth making our modern climate with ice at the poles, and the current coast lines.
If we burn all of it, we will re-create the warm climate of the Mesozoic.
