Well at this moment I finished volume 2. I just have to listen to the audiobooks which take awhile to come out.

The Wandering Inn -> people are always Wandering Inn.
Also, Ioved the review. I never thought of The Wandering Inn as being Slice of Life before, but it definitely has a ton of elements of the genre.

Long time reader of The Wandering Inn its a great series glad you found it! I too thought that The Wandering Inn was going to be a Baba Yaga style moving house but the name is actually a pun. Erin named her inn the Wandering Inn because she wandered into it and got the class. It takes till volume six or seven in universe for one of the characters to get the pun which tbh is also when noticed it as well.

Wandering Inn is one of my favorite stories from any kind of media. In later volumes characters deal with homophobia, transphobia, PTSD, sexism, racism, grief, different facets of war, and so much more. Characters that started off flat get rounded over SOOOO many chapters and almost every character is meaningful, if they live long enough. All hail Termin the [Wagon Driver] who has appeared far to consistently since volume 3!

Awesome video! Getting some 'Ascendance of a Bookworm' vibes from this series.

    Funny how my head imagines
Ryoka - An asian version of Vi
Ralph - A slightly more plump version of Renekton
Klbkch - Beru from Solo Leveling
Erin - Hard to imagine anyone for reference.. maybe Shirayuki??
Rags - Definitely Haruna from Tensei Shitara !

I tried to stomach the first volume. One of the worst books I've read in a long time. I've read some Korean Chinese web novels.

At first it can be a little off putting. I agree with you. Erin comes off very air headed and whiny. Once Ryoka comes in she sorta balances it out. The writing improves as well.

It is a good story. But I do understand how people can struggle with book one. In the audiobook version I listen to, book one has the weakest writing in the series with back to back repeating sentences and also a lot of GLARING. All the female characters glare at the male characters all the time. On some occasions a few times a paragraph.
But the audiobooks do evolve, and all the poor writing fades away.
But the story is great. Audiobook four's 'wistram days' story arc is about a school of magic where the toughest characters in 'Harry Potter' would probably be bullied. Then there's the fact (more of an opinion) that audiobook two and audiobook five's entire story smash it out the park!!!!!

@@robdaviolo3031 pretty sure book 1 is being rewritten soon. So hopefully the worst of the problem should be fixed at the very least.
