I'm just now coming in to the world of table top games, and I just bought this game this week, and cracked it open today. But I just wanted so say thank you so much for these videos. As a visual learner, watching someone else play the game really helps.

I don't have anything to add (I think attacking the western rat warrior with Maginos is a good idea), but for Collin whether he has to try to attack the rat warrior or not (If Mag misses) he should use his free action: share, and give his cheese to Tilda. Stacking her with cheese will help us if the wounds start to pile on.

I just got this game today. I am quite excited to play this with a group. I am so happy you made a playthrough of this game! Actually I learned you did from going to the link mentioned on the front of the rule book! I am not sure if you remember me, but you were also the one who inspired me to get Mansions of Madness, Timeline, and several other games that I now own.

And now that I've watched it, I have to say that I'm excited about finally watching a series in "real time". I'll hold off on making my own suggestions this round since my first two instincts have already been mentioned. This reminds me alot of the Redwall series of books..getting interested in this game a little bit just on that alone.

@@WatchItPlayed Yeah, I have the game, and it's follow up series about flying "Tail Feathers"..pretty pricey nowadays though depending on it's print run and where you get it..the Downwood Tales expansion is running around 80+ on Amazon right now while base game is $53+ tax and shipping there right now. Official site lists it as $74.95. It's a good thing it's 1-4/1-6 players..last year made it hard to get the usual game group together..so any board game that can be played solo helped with not being able to go out as easy.

Purchased Mice and Mystics last night based on your explanation of the rules and play-through with Luke. I looking forward to playing with my son (4 month) once he is of age.
Maginos should try and attack one of the rats far away and then not move so he's in the same space as Colin.
Next Colin should use his Give Order ability and have Maginos attack the other farthest rat. His next Action should be a Scurry, and move towards the closest rat on the side.
(Maginos should be attacking as much as he can so he has opportunities to collect double cheese with his base ability)

Since the rats have only one hit-point, is is very feasible to attack move up to them, attack, and kill them without every being attacked in turn. Thus the strategy would seem to be "stay out of range until after one of the rats turns, then charge in overwhelming force to avoid counter-attack".
This is especially true since the rats move 1-3 moves per turn as I understand it (since they have no base movement listed on their card).
Ahhhh so excited! Maybe you should roll the movement die at the end of the video so we at-least know how far Collin can move? Ah, I say charge em! ;)

I believe that Collin and Meganos should focus on trying to kill the western rat immediately before he gets a chance to move.
Since the two rats to the north can only move at most 3 spaces, this will keep the entire party safe from attack rolls for the first turn. Then, after the remaining two rats move, the entire party can focus fire them to try to kill them before they can get an attack on turn 2.
Ok, having watched both videos so far I conclude: This game seems to be equally complex, rules heavy and "roleplaying-boardgame"-like as Decent, Mansions of Madness, Arkham Horrors and stuff ... Thus plenty of knowledge in advance, a steep learning curve in the beginning and - like with a proper clockwork - and awe-inspiring game experience ... Am looking forward to how things turn out.

Move Maginos immediately toward helmet to search(he'll move into the fray after searching). Move Collin forward to engage one of the Rats ahead. Tilda should engage the Rat (to the left) early to generate some cheese. Nez should accompany Tilda so she doesn't become overwhelemd. (if Tilda generates some cheese without taking damage she can fall behind, she should soon engage enemy, ideally when it's about to die, so as to garner more healer cheese).

Awesome intro video :) Out of curiosity, what's with the map behind you with the pins in it? Are those places you guys visited, or possibly places were certain games are from? Or just a map with pins and I'm over thinking it? XD
Heheh, at the time of the recording it would have made more sense. We have a yearly fundraiser, so I can work on these videos full time, and during that year, I was putting pins on a map to show where donations had come from.

If Maginos is still on the tile with Collin, then Collin should spend a cheese to give Maginos a ranged attack action.
Good thing the Healer (Rodney's Character) doesn't have any dice on her special abilities. We might have a chance now!

Just found out today that a local game store rents put games, and I hope this is there.. This will be my first pick.

My gameplay suggestion: Maginos should take the cheese from Collin and then move and battle the Rat to the west with his Mystic Bolt ability. Hopefully this will kill the Rat. Collins turn should be based on what happens on Maginos' turn: If the Rat to the west is dead, then Collin should move and search on the Helmet; if the rat is not dead he should move and attack it.

Side quests that reward you?! and you get 11 scenarios! That adds so much replay value to it. This is a must buy imho just off the amount of content. Next up Zombicide!
Collin and Nez are the best warrior right now, so they should focus on fighting those rats! Meganos need some cheese to use his spell and Tilda can search the helmet.

New Smith House Rule: When activating the Battle Squeak, the player must perform the Battle Squeak.
LOL! Well, you've got yourself into that situation! With each new game the quality of the vids improves and now you've got a legion of fans who are addicted! If you ever quit there'll be mass withdrawal and very likely riots in the streets!

Meganos should hit the rat on his side of the table then run into the corner by the helmet.
Colin should hit the rat on his side of the table as well or search if Meganos killed that rat.
I agree with Sponge Trap that we should let the rats on the other side come to us. If Meganos and Colin can defeat the close rat, then we will be safe from attacks for one turn.
