Jimin deserves all the accollade, awards, and notoriety bestowed to brilliant artists! This was the best of the best, most jaw-dropping performance so far this year. The hateful things that some so called OT7 ARMY/solo stans/antis were posting was disgusting... to focus on the intermittent auto-tune used for artistic background vocal and calling Jimin all kind of hateful names to this day (5 months later) is the most evil part of social media. I hope that all of us who see Jimin's body of work for the work of art it is, can drown out all the hate.

This is Jimins anthem for sure. He said the only one who can set himself free is him and I believe he has just done that with this song. I had no doubt he had this in him but I still wasn't expecting this. His duality has always showed as part of BTS but now he has arrived as a bonifide solo artist one of the best not just in kpop but all of the music industry. Im so proud of him and how hard he has worked, he never once gave up no matter how hard it got for him and now he has set himself free and the possibilities are endless for him. All I could think the whole day was that army’s that will come after this will not be able to grasp what today was like. I was really emotional. Very proud of Jimin. If you watched him closely all those years and knew how insecure he was about certain stuff , how he always gravitated towards Yoongi in moments when he felt like that and needed Yoongi to be confident in Jimin for the both of them and now he takes Set me free and makes a part 2. Simply stunning !!!! I got goosebumps from the high wails in the choir to all the swarming choreo to the intensity in Jimin’s eyes… I can’t believe this isn’t the ‘main’ song. It’s ON’s little sister and Jimin commanded the power of all seven of them on that track in this
I know ppl say it’s a new side of Jimin but really I see it as being very much the Jimin we know….the way he dances elegantly but powerfully, the deep meaning of the song relating to his own thoughts and struggles…he has been pretty open about these struggles. His vocals are amazing and you can tell he has worked diligently bring out different textures to his incredible range. The autotune was new for sure and took me a minute but its being used an artistic tool as it should be and really adds to the depth of the song and what he is expressing. Jimin is one of a kind. I am beyond proud of him.
And sidenote: I really appreciate Blaze’s ability to look deeply into this song (and others) even with only seeing/hearing it once. You were spot on. All 3 of you compliment each other well. 💜
“I wont stop even if you mock me” for me this line was the true heart breaker especially when we think of all Jimin as gone through. So much hate out of all the members gets thrown his way. In the beginning it was his weight so he starved himself then they mocked him for starving himself and getting sick. Then it’s his voice an mocking his any time he had a problem in a live performance. This is the same man that only had 18mo to train and no real vocal training but kept pushing himself to get better. Then the biggest hate he got was for his close bond with JK and V. Him and JK are both from Busan and JK was young and far from home and missing his family of course there would be a closeness between them. Jimin and V were the same age and finished HS together they each understood the other. Jimin found V quirkiness endearing and was there for V when he went through his own struggles so of course they grew a special bond.
He has silently suffered through all these horrible comments to go mill himself and he should live the group and the list goes on and on.
So now he can finally respond to everyone of these people and tell them in no polite terms to F*** Off AND I AM COMPLETELY HERE FIR IT!!!!!!!!! As Lizzo says “ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME”.

Одна из моих теорий:
Танцоры создают фигуру, которая может показаться узором золотого сечения или последовательностью Фибоначчи - в форме спирали, (в витках которых он блуждает, пытаясь найти себя и освободиться от навязанных ярлыков и стереотипов, которые позже изображают танцоры, когда окружают его, указывают пальцами и хватают его). Еще спираль символизирует ДНК (отсылка к песне БТС "ДНК")
Так же на обложке альбома нарисованы круги, обозначающие расширяющиеся круги, охватывающие весь мир, который он познает.
Строка «Схожу с ума, чтобы остаться в здравом уме» почти идентична тексту песни БТС «ON» в которой говорится о преодолении боли.
Использование автотюна применено в качестве контраста, когда он, наконец, вырывается из этой спирали и окружающих его осуждающих людей (некая Тень), и велит им катиться в пешее эротичекое путешествие.
По ходу пьесы, Чимин теряет одежду и аксессуары в клипе, символизируя свой путь к свободе. Ближе к концу он подчиняет себе движения танцоров а не наоборот и они поднимают его вверх. Он уже контролирует Тень. В конце он в белом, показывая, что преодолел эту Тень.
Вырез на кофте, специально показывающий татуировку "Nevermind", которая символизирует трек Шуги "Nevermind" -.Текст из песни: "NEVER MIND [не бери в голову], - "Это нелегко, но выгравируй это у себя на груди". Тату, как мы знаем и видим, у Чимина на груди/ребрах (сделанное примерно в 2017-18г).
Так же, песня "Set me free" pt.1 - песня Шуги. Тогда как песня Чимина рассказывает о свободе и движении вперед, а трек Шуги - истории, которые произошли до освобождения, описываемого в песне Чимина. В итоге Чимин решил, что должен сделать трек “второй частью», того, что случилось после.

Since the video dropped, I haven't been able to get the "oh aye oh" melody in the background of the song out of my head! Still can't believe this is just a PRE RELEASE!?! The execution was flawless. From the lyrics and choreography to the cinematography of the video, this was the masterpiece Jimin felt needed to be seen and heard by those who support him. As well as those who doubt and constantly misjudge and underestimate him as an artist. I couldn't be a prouder ARMY right now. I know everyone in the industry are clutching their pearls right now waiting on this album to drop!

I'm so proud and happy for Jimin! (For all of them, really) I think I realized at last year's FESTA dinner for the first time how affected Jimin was by the restrictions of kpop/being a group/everything. You could just see it in his manner and words that day. I really feel like we're seeing each of them release those emotions and move forward in the way their solo works are being presented. I don't think any of us truly realized how trapped and restricted they all felt. It's a masterpiece of an anthem!! I love this so much for all of them, but right now I'm just feeling really happy for Jimin.
Jimin's performance is a piece of art. He expressed beautifully the lyrics of the song with this video. Every detail, every move was there for a reason. He's finally showing us the incredible potential we always knew he has, Bravo JIMIN, Bravo!!!!
