I was thinking the same thing, I am a KDrama fan and he belongs in either the dramas or a movie, the ultimate gangsta with swag.
In Daechiwta Yoongi killed his anger, in Haegeum he kills his greed, leading to the end of August D but as he still has his jacket at the end, it means that August D could comeback one day. This directly correlates not just to Yoongi but the group overall, as they are introspective and actively work to let go of the negativities that rise within them.

The guy in the suit is the "control", which is something that Yoongi has indirectly spoken about several times throughout the years during interviews ,, this is the last time that we will see agustd as he said in a recent interview so he took this chance to show the world that he is no longer being controlled in this industry
From what I heard, this mv is a sequel to Daechwita. And there will be another music video as a continuation of Haegeum, making it a trilogy. That’s why the Yoongi in the suit has that scar, he’s supposed to be the same one who killed blonde Yoongi in Daechwita. I think it’s a cycle, basically. But I’m pretty sure someone else can explain it way better than me but that’s what I heard.
I think what is cool about this mv is that at the end when Suga gets out of the police car is it looks like he has the jacket from the other Suga, so it seems to me that both of them are different versions of the same man, one a slave to everything and one trying to be free

My interpretation, but in Daechwita, Boss Yoongi (scar) killed King Yoongi (scar) , who was first introduced in the original Agust D MV. Now, mature, D-Day Yoongi (no scar) has killed Boss Yoongi because he's outgrown even that persona. Mature Yoongi is ready to completely burn down the system, not just rule it. My love and admiration know no bounds for his genius. 💜 💜 💜

That's basically my feeling. Agust D began as the rapper who wanted material things out of his success (greedy and ambitious), and was full of anger and doubts...and rose to remarkable heights in the process of winning his 'kingdom'. He evolved to an Agust D free of his anger and greed, and killed his former incarnation so it wouldn't weigh him down any longer- but he was still held down with limitations and restrictions and was controlled. Now Yoongi has killed off that Agust D, yet at the same time he sounds the cautionary note that there's freedom, and then there's self-indulgence. I think he carries Agust D's black coat along not so much as a trophy as a reminder not to go overboard with freedom. There're times when control is necessary, and that part of Agust D stays with him.

I saw where he said he received a script, but he turned it down. He made a comment like he wasn't as handsome as the actors, I think he is just as handsome.

I saw progression from blonde Agust D to the king in Daechwita, then the black haired Agust D who shot him down became the corrupted cop then shot down by the next. One could see it as the progression of Suga through the years as he processed so much.
The king, The outsider (Daechwita), The Gangster Boss, The Traitor (Haegeum) - all of them are sides of Suga/Agust D but better versions from each other. So, every time the old version is killed, that means a new Era has started and also, this new guy in the end has no scar. He is healed and free. 💜

Also, did you notice in the beginning of the MV, it's Suga walking with his crew of 6. 1+6=7, love the symbolism. Suga is such a bad-ass performer, writer, producer. Always impressive! 💪

I love how this is not only a continuation of "Daechwita", given that "Haegeum" is also a traditional Korean string instrument. But there are so many parallels between the two. During the premiere, I didn't have the captions on because I wanted to just vibe to it. By the end, Agust D started to embody the Joker. Then I rewatched it immediately and I grasped the whole thing.
Agust D portrays what we believe to be the good and bad guys. But he's the guy between the criminals and the capitalist (same people). He takes on the role of Commissioner (Gordon, lol) he portrays what we think is the good guy because he's "protecting" the city. But in reality, which side is truly good?
Like Joker in Batman, we assume he is bad. But he mostly misunderstood because he wants to change but goes about it his way. The bad guy in "Haegeum" is power and money. Both sides are fighting over control. To get rid of the war between lower criminals and higher-ranking criminals, Agust D destroys the one thing both are fighting over...money. It isn't his desire to be rich or have power, he trying to humanize each side so their focus isn't capitalism.
It also feels like he's fighting between old and new Yoongi again. I had a passion, I worked hard to further it. But when I needed money that passion became my bread and butter. Now that I am where I am the money doesn't mean much anymore.
This is just my thinking. By the way, D-Day is phenomenal!!! 😁💜

Thai Army (Sky_Hxneul) mentioned that this MV was filmed in Thailand and the place is called the “Thief Market” Rattanakosin Island (old name for Thailand from 1782-1892) and it was the first international shopping center in that period after the abolition of slavery. This is how he explained it: The market came to exist because the people in the palace freed from slavery when they moved out of the palace, they received goods from their master and stole some. They then brought those goods to sell them in this area. Haegeum is a traditional instrument and also means the liberation of the prohibition.

Brilliant MV as expected!! Yoongi also beat our dear Jimin's album sales record; Korean soloist with the highest ever first day sales. Well done Yoongi + ARMY!! 👏💜👏 There's so many callbacks and parallels, and the way history and modern day themes are intertwined (Gwanghaegun etc). I remember on that episode of "You Quiz On The Block" where Yoongi + Jin were quizzed on what used to be a sign of wealth a long time ago, and Yoongi guessed correctly; chicken. So even the way a chicken appears in this MV along with stacks and stacks of cash, which is what we associate with being rich now. I'm looking forward to the video for Amygdala dropping soon. Yoongi normally doesn't give out such specific listening/watching instructions, so there must be a reason he wants the audience to watch Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala all together in that order, for a fuller story. Can't wait!!

So... I will try to explain this the best that I can (english is not my first language so sorry in advance for any mistake):
The scarred Agust D in this video (the detective) is the same one that killed the mad king in Daechwita, but he got corrupted by power, so this new Agust D (the one who stole the money, who has no scar in his face, who, I personally think, just stole the money to attract the detective attention, because he clearly didn't care about it, I mean, he looked way happier with his stolen tangerines that with the stolen money) has to killed him again because he is, one more time, not good anymore.
