another thing to note is the differential in the 6sp tt cars are alot stronger than the tt auto and n/a variants due to a 220mm crown wheel as opposed to a 200mm one, tt 6sp diff code is b03D
most n/a and auto supras were also sold with a non lsd diff. easiest way to tell is by looking at the diff code for example: A01a the first A or B shows what size it is (A is the smaller 200mm), 01 Shows what ratio it is (01 being 4.083:1), A shows that its a non lsd variant (D at the end means its an lsd). Supra community has great forums and websites for this stuff btw!
Nosoup Yeah, all USDM 6 speeds came with the 220mm big diff
This is actually a very useful guide. The supra is my dream project JDM car. Subscribed.
Yess indeed I was looking for videos like these but couldn’t find much
Get a GTR way beter

This car is timeless. Everyone can appreciate this car.
I just picked up a 1995 supra for 10k AUD a couple month ago.. at that price I couldn't say no.. it does need some minor hail dent repair and a paint job but i think its a pretty good deal if you ask me... plus its my dream car
I’m looking at buying a 1995 SZ-R next week and this video was a great refresher
That was Extremely Informative...
I'm in the market for one right now looking.
Found some very clean Original Stock Supras.
Stock just means I canvas that hasn’t been painted yet
More history videos please
Will do.
When I think back of the Toyota supra it came way after the the original Z as 1969 was the birth in North America and still running in the year 2018 it’s like camaro vs mustang camaro was gone for a decade before reintroduced in 2010. Awsome detail of the supra you sure know the cars you like. Merry Christmas and happy new year. P.s your GTR is the bomb now that is the ultimate japanese super car monster.
Thank you! Merry Christmas!
*Good video and pretty accurate, unlike most other on this topic*
Supra mk4 ended production in 1998 for the USDM market but still being made in japan and other countries till 2002. Its amazing the 4th gen supra keep the same body style 9 yrs. Wish one day i own one 97-98 but it’s just a dream.
I said the same thing and it became reality so theres no reason yours cant as well.
Same man 😣
they're beautiful cars
Good job with the content. I almost didn't watch it because I didn't think I'd learn anything. I purchased a 1994 TT 6spd over the summer and was doing research before I took the plunge but you had a lot more information than I knew about. Thank you.
Hey!!!!
Supraman!!!!
😁😄👍🏾👋🏽
Your vids are great!!!!!!!!!!
🥇
Appreciate this video alot since I'm in the market for a mk4 in the next year or two.
Just Bough my JZA80!
Congrats!
Any good?
Best year has to be the 1996 May production model. series 2 facelift without VVTi
I would love to own a supra that twin turbo with a 6 speed is a must, but I honestly wanna go for non turbo with automatic Supra because that particular model needs more love. Shit $25k or up is not bad at all. If I have that money I would be happy to get it and own one. One day.
Toyota Brony As a Toyota fanatic as much as I love the A80 Supra for what they are dollar for dollar I know for fact that Z30 Soarer (SC300/400) identical twin can be obtain for way less money with less Fast and Furious Fanboy attention.
25k....wtf
Dude I bought a bloody 800hp built 6 speed RZ for 35k AUD
Did u ever get it? I’m looking at a few, and I’m 25 and about to buy an NA, hopefully 5 speed! Congrats if u did man, mad respect!!!!
@@iheartgs400 very true

I'll buy it

The best year for the Supra is by far the rare 98 Turbo! A couple of these low mileage examples have sold for over $100k!
😮
I just bought a very rare 98 TT 6 speed in imperial jade mica from the original owner 😁
@@nickadkins7765 congratulations brother
@@hashenprasanga thank you! Sold it in February though lol
i'd have to get one with a hardtop
You definitely did ur research, you should of talked about jdm supras since they are legal, mine is a 95 rhd supra
Been meaning to do a "25-year" law video. Maybe soon.
quality content as usual GT. great channel
Interesting video. I like hardtops so I guess the 1995 would suit me.
Paul S IF your willing to buy a Jdm spec you can get a 1996 like me with hardtop
@@dedu7483 I'm in Australia and these things are a lot cheaper here - probably half what you are paying in the States.
#TRUTH
Paul S hard top is the best
Make one for R33 and R34 plz
Loved yr speculation videos for 2019 model. I hope to get a Pre Owned Nissan GTR/Supra 2019 after owning a GT86. I would love a 4th gen Supra but price is high unless non twin turbo. Nice info thanks. Woah that Twin Turbo transmission replacement is expensive!
Yep, check Getrag v160 and v161 prices. They go for insane money.
Weird, DeMuro releases a Supra video just hours after you do.
Alex Becker they must have something in common...lol
@@seanvangster THEY'RE THE SAME PERSON...
🤣
According to Doug, a low-mileage unmodded Supra can approach $100k. That's crazy.
@@knifetoucher I'm guessing that those will be the pebble Beach Candidates of the future.
yea, we all got 100k laying around to shop for a 4th gen supra lol. great video though
Crazy market or crazy times?

1000th like, sick!
Things missed, differentiating between the diffs from a to b series, control arms are not a serviceable part once they are done they are done and not a cheap item to replace, headlights in s2 more then a color change the parker was moved to the indicator, s2 dash also changed color. The jdm cars had a more more extensive facelift.
Should be noted the s2 jdm supra rz 9-97 onwards is far superior to anything the usdm market received.
Great video, love my 98!
HOLY SHIT EVERY ARROW AT THE CAR
As a fellow Supra owner let me correct one small mistake from the video. All years had the front grill air diverters but the series 2 (97-98) had a different front bumper so when you remove the air diverters it can make the bumper way different. Many people remove the air diverters when going to a front mount intercooler to get maximum airflow and people who want the oem look will often get the small holes from the air diverter covered and molded over before painting them over. I think this is what caused some confusion for you. Another important thing for potential buyers is to know the differences between the 2JZ engine variants! Many people simply see "Twin Turbo" but don't realize that this may come from other platforms such as the Aristo. This is very important to be able to know the difference because there are plenty of little differences between a USDM 2JZGTE and a JDM 2JZGTE that could create a nightmare when upgrading parts or creating modifications, especially with the 98+ VVTI engines! I advise all future owners or potential buyers to visit Supraforums! Best place to learn from the OG's!
Do fill me in on what grill the series 1 had
@@cheeseontoastbrah Series 1 had the same "cross" shaped air diverters but they are different size because the Series 2 had a larger grill opening. When you remove the air diverters from both grills, you will notice the opening seems much larger on the series 2. The diverters are not interchangeable due to size differences but as far as appearance, they are pretty much the same. Was there anything you were specifically looking to find out about the grills?
@Ruán Conán Interesting, I guess the USDM and JDM Series 1 models differ more than just from the active aero front end.
Any new Car History videos coming out? I got a few suggestions such as the Subaru Alcyone XT/SVX, Honda Integra and Toyota Chaser. #BringbackCarHistory
Working on Integra.
1998 was the best year for the Supra
I would love to own a MK4 Supra but the prices are ridiculous these days. Stock or lightly modded 6-spd TT Supras are already pushing $60-$100k. For that price, I could get a used 2017 GTR! Decisions, decisions...
Edit: I could get a brand new GTR at $99.9k! Lol.
choice is easy if it was me. '90s toyota or modern renault nissan. I'm going with the supra
i owned 1997 Supra Red limited Edition
The 1998 was the best year for the Supra.
Thanks
Good content bro 👌😎.. 🚗💨💨
Thanks!
"S" for supra!
It's a MK4 or nothing when it comes to Supra's. Was a fan of this car way before F&F but I bet Toyota wish they produced it for a little while longer lol and we'd have more parts for them too =(
I like the 1998 one
USDM supra prices are legit if you have all the vin tags
Was there a chrome shell option at Toyota for the 1994 mk4 Supra? I just bought one with chrome oem wheels. Center caps are chrome but no Toyota logo?
Bravo
Man. Love me a Supra, but Supra tax is is no joke.
tigerbiterhater the Soarer/Lexus SC300/400 is your answer its the classy sister of the A80 Supra for way less money you just need a GTE swap or a 1JZ.
How much is Supra tax
#truth A80 Supra came from parts and suspension off the Z30 Soarer. Yep coilovers, suspension, brakes identical to each other.
Rain Santiago Z30 Soarers are amazing cars. 2JZ swap them and you have one hell of a car.
What about sunroof????? my hardtop MK3 had a removable sunroof
Which supra is best
Quick question to anyone interested in answering
I'm looking at some supra's and because I'll be on my probationary license am limited to the naturally aspirated model, would I be better off buying an AUTOMATIC Supra but with low mileage or a MANUAL with significantly higher mileage for the same price
It’s an amazing car but it has people paying way to much. Starting to get into used Nissan GTR prices. I’ve see them listed from 40k-110k
Toprank inports want’s between 54k-60k+
i think these have surpassed gtr prices now which coincides with the rest of expensive used toyotas. ill stick to hondas.
where in the god damn can I find good quality body kits

Question for you, I was going to buy a 1994 supra but from doing research I saw that it was banned from the us from what it shows online. Do you have any info on this, does this mean I wouldn’t be able to register the vehicle still
The jdm Supra should qualify for import per 25 year rule federally. It would still need to pass California emissions testing ($10k+) to be legal. I am not sure regarding other states.
hi, I have a toyota supra 1996 model and wanted to change complete headlight assembly.where can i buy these at reasonable price.
Thanks

I think a fairlady? Not sure.
Are you SURE these are 199X and not 209X ..?? You love to stress the word NINETEEN NINETY X as if anybody watching would think it would be anything other than 199X ...
Most dont go around saying they have a 199X blah, they say they have an 85 or 97 X ...
that car is an embarrassment to the name supra Toyota should have used this use this opportunity to bring back the Celica I am not going to save up any money to buy that car
