    I love my PRX618xlf sub. The only problem was that in a hot place it will cut off on you. Now that I see that they put a fan I am thrilled to see them make this series. I will wait until the price drops a little. My sub is still working and I just put a small fan behind it to keep it cool.

    I've owned both (used to have EON and went to PRX) so I can tell you from my own experience than the PRX is most certainly worth the extra money. It's hard to explain until you hear them in direct comparison, the PRX series is just so vastly superior in every respect.

    Ok, used the subs all weekend. The subs most definitely rocked the house! I have used the K181's in the past and to be completely honest there really is not much of a difference. I am very happy with the JBL's though, I received many compliments on the sound all weekend. The fans on the subs worked great to keep them cool all nite long and I would highly recommend the JBL's for any mobile DJ.

    For those wondering if the 1500 watts is RMS or Peak, from the sounds of it, the new cooling tech on the sub puts the RMS power close to the peak so it should be able to run its 1500 peak continuously

  • @conjuntola
    @conjuntola Před 9 lety +3

    I've ran a dBx two way, three way, and a driverack through these speakers, but 1500 watts is in their wettest dreams. I also have a pair of prx712's to go along with this pair, but the level on the 712's has to be at about 1/4 and the 718 at max to be at an equivalent output. I would say from that that these hogs put out about 600W max being generous. I've set up many systems for many years, I know what punch is.

    @agiprodj  Před 11 lety +1

    If you'd like us to tell you these are louder and better, well then YES they are. The 618S-XLF's were great subs. But they are discontinued because the 700 series and the 718XLF's are available now, and they are better.

    love the kw181 but indoors against a jbl prx 618xlf is better...thats if you only had one sub, in a two sub indoor set up qsc is just stronger..stronger isnt always better...outdoors qsc is superior!
    i have both prx and kw subs...i just coped one 718 today, going to see how it fairs with two 715s on a boat party venue, i will give you my assessment afterwards.

  • @agiprodj
    @agiprodj  Před 11 lety +2

    1000W vs 1500W. On paper, yes. Looks like we'll have to do a side by side comparison.

  • @Reticuli
    @Reticuli Před 11 lety +1

    How much better construction could the PRX really be to make it worth it? And between the added box volume of two EONs AND the allowance to run each at a lower, less distorted wattage level, then isn't the PRX pricing unreasonable? If you really think going the PRX route is worth the price & weight increase and halving of box volume per dollar, make a convincing case for it.

  • @Reticuli
    @Reticuli Před 11 lety +3

    Comparing the 18 inch powered ones, is the top PRX 718xlf sub really worth more than twice the EON518s sub? For the price these are going for, you can get twice the number of EONs that are easier to carry and end up having larger box volume in pairs per the PRX. The EONs also have neodymium magnets while the newest JBL PRX has regressed to ferrites.

    • @minnesotajack1
      @minnesotajack1 Před 4 lety

      Chris Gonzalez
      I’m sure you can, though you might be running a little overkill. A 3way speaker like the 735 can handle its own lows. But yes, they will work nicely with 735s if you want some more beef in your burger
      I use them with prx612s and they sound great.

    • @WeBoogie28

      Because the jbl has a tighter acoustic signature..esp in indoors...qsc is a better outdoor speaker

    Hey I was looking at jbl's new prx418s and I was wondering if that would be a good option. Its the passive version of this and I wanted to see if you thought the active one was good so that I could decide.

  • @bearklenda

  • @Jaylee681
    @Jaylee681 Před 10 lety +1

    What do polarity reverse 180? does it change different Ohms? or does it give you peak power of 3000 watts?
    It say Maximum SPL 134 dB peak, what is it NOT peak 131db?
    Is this a 4 Ohm speaker?
    Anyone know this?
    Jay Thank You.

    I have 2 of these, the limiter turns on a lot when they aren't that loud. Can somebody help?

    • @Azpry
      @Azpry Před 8 lety +3

      This is the least useful cry for help ever. What kind of environment are you in (indoors/outdoors)? How far away from the speakers is "not that loud"? It could be any number of things and simply saying "They aren't loud enough and limit a lot" isn't going to get you help. A good starting point for concern, but requires some further knowledge and problem solving to determine an answer.

    • @eversince_9863
      @eversince_9863 Před 7 lety

      That would mean buying a power distro/spider box to feed your sound gear with sufficient power. Unfortunately, they are expensive and require a 240v (North American) outlet.

  • @bumlover1167
    @bumlover1167 Před 10 lety +1

    • @djrickygaz
      @djrickygaz Před 9 lety +1

      If you want people to feel the bass in their chests, buy passive subs and powerful amplifiers.
      IMO there are no powered subwoofers on the market that will vibrate anyone's chest unless one is literally on their knees pressing his or her chest against the cabinet.

      @Thatguyguyguy Před 8 lety +1

      +DJ RICKY G 👍 true my passive set up is crazy for me ntn is better then having an crown amp and good speakers it'll hit stupid hard and cost is way less amp cost a lot but active speakers are more convenient and quick to set up but passive is my love 😁🎶🎧🎤🔊
