      +XeroRez, the Dreamcast & Arcade versions of the first one are still the best ones because of the soundtrack. I haven't played it since because Sega never bothered to relicense those 4 tracks for the subsequent ports.

      +Serpico's Beard It bored the hell out of me to be honest. I don't see the attraction of this game at all. And London (which I actually live in) is barely there. No real world locations and having to actually follow traffic rules makes it totally unfun for me.

    • @Therealmadkong
      @Therealmadkong Před 8 lety +1

      It is not the objective for the most part, but there are sections where you HAVE to attack people. I strictly remember toy soldiers that shoot at you and you have to hide in a cup. I would say 1/3 of the game is violent, but it is cartoon violence.

    • @haiderbadawi9509
      @haiderbadawi9509 Před 8 lety +1

    Playing LittleBigPlanet online was probably one of my top 5 gaming experiences from the past 35 years of gaming. I'm may have just been lucky, but it seemed like most people I joined up with were really cool and friendly gamers. Something I've rarely experienced with consistency on most other games.
    There were so many moments when other gamers would wait up for the others and actually work together as a team. It was really great to be a part of that.

    There is a game for Steam and PS4 called The Talos Principle that would have definitely fit this video topic. It's a first person puzzle game from Croteam that has been compared to Portal. However, it has a more serious and philosophical story about what makes one human and if what makes one human can be replicated by an AI in androids after we all go extinct. Definitely worth looking into, although it is much tougher than Portal.

    when it comes to non violent games, the first game that comes to mind is katamari damaci. that game is so colorful and upbeat. although.. you CAN roll the ball over people eventually, and you do technically destry entire cities when you get large enough. so you could say it's the most violent game that doesnt seem violent at all lol

    The LBP song mentioned is Atlas by the band Battles. They lyrics are extremely distorted but they are saying "People won't be People, no people won't be people, when they hear this sound, Won't you show me what begins at the edge of town"

    The only games I can think of for now with little to no violence is Disney's Tarzan, Tomba and Tomba 2: The Swine Returns from the PSOne era. There are occasions when I grow tired of violent games and wanted something funny, uplifting and something a little intriguing to style and gameplay. You guys covered this episode nicely and if you both perhaps are planning on a another episode like this in the future could you possibly mention one of the games from this comment? Thanks for this episode Gamesack, you guys ROCK!

    With so many puzzle-oriented games in this episode, it makes me want an episode that talks about some other puzzle games like The Adventures of Lolo for the NES, Little Magic for the SNES and Crush for the PSP and 3DS, my favorites in the genre.

    I don't know if there's enough for an entire episode, but how about original games that star movie actors - not just actors providing voicework, but using their likeness? IE: Vin Diesel in The Wheelman, Dwayne Johnson in Spyhunter, David Bowie in Omikron, Bruce Wills in Apocalypse, etc. (that's all I can think of).

    Love Joe's KERRAZY voice. Found it hard watching a player who didn't boost or slide though. Doesn't matter how rusty you are - without learning to boost and controlled power slides there's no chance of a good score or completing the challenges.

    I'm pleasantly surprised with the themes that you come up with.
    I like the humor in Portal. One of the reasons I kept playing that game. I love Crazy Taxi. When it was in our local arcade I played the cabinet over there while I have the game on DreamCast.

    this episode reminded me of why I love you guys, I was bummed after the wrestling game episode after a few of the greats were ripped by Joe because I've been waiting for one on that topic, but all was forgotten once I heard your praise for portal, also the crazy taxi guy impression made me legit laugh, and that doesn't happen often watching you guys, great episode guys this is my first comment on here just had to give you props, my favorite episode thus far

    Max and The Curse of Brotherhood and Tearaway (and to a lesser extent the PS4 conversion/remake Tearaway: Unfolded) are two somewhat recent nonviolent games I'd recommend. I'd recommend the original Vita version over the PS4 version, just for the better implementation of controls.
