  • In this video, we'll explore five key factors of the Indian-built LCH (Light Combat Helicopter).
The LCH boasts an engine akin to the HAL/Turbomeca Shakti-1H1, a derivative of the Safran engine, renowned for its performance in the Dhruv helicopter by HAL. This engine furnishes the LCH with comparable torque and power, enhancing its capabilities. The helicopter derives additional strength from its robust structural design and power, facilitating a climb rate of 12 m/s. It achieves a maximum speed of 280 km/h and a range of 700 km with a weapon payload. With an endurance of up to 3 hours, the LCH is well-equipped for a variety of missions.
The LCH has a built-in data link that lets it share mission info with other aircraft and ground units, boosting teamwork. Its sensors, made by Bharat Electronics Limited, include a camera, infrared sensor, laser rangefinder, and designator, making it effective day or night. Future versions will have even more advanced systems developed locally by HAL and private companies.
    #lch #lightcombathelicopter #fighterjet #takeoff #attackhelicopter
The major features of LCH are:
    Glass Cockpit
    Crashworthy bottom structure
Crashworthy fixed tricycle type with tail wheel landing gear
Canted flat panels for low Radar Cross Section
    Integrated Dynamic System
Hinge less Main Rotor / Bearing less Tail Rotor
    Anti-Resonance Isolation System
Integrated Architecture and Display System (IADS)
    IR Suppressor
    Counter Measuring Dispensing System (CMDS)
EO pod, Helmet Mounted Display System & EW suite
    20mm Gun, 70mm Rocket & Missiles
    Air to Air Missiles (ATAM)
    Air to Ground Missiles (ATGM)
    Technical Parameters
    MTOW : 5800 Kg
    Max. speed : 268 Kmph
    Range : 550 Km
    Service Ceiling : 6.5 km
    Oblique climb rate : 12 m/s
    Power Plant
    SHAKTI engine (2 no.)
    Power is 1032 kW

    • @mrgrinch837
      @mrgrinch837 Před 21 dnem

What really limits the combat ceilings for tactical helicopters is not the performance of the engine, it's the lack of breathing capabilities for the pilots. I flew cobras, no idea how high the thing would go, but we're not able to breath effectively for long periods of time above 14,000 feet so that was our stated limit. So unless you've got an oxygen system built in for the aircrews, it doesn't matter how high the thing will fly unless it can conduct combat operations with a pilot and gunner who died of hypoxia before getting to the combat zone it really doesn't matter.

No country in the world export military
Or civilian helicopter to Iran due to fear
Of indirect sanctions of US. Lch use
Safran shakti engine of france. As per
      Agreement between safran hal the
Said engine can only use to be fitted
On helicopter snd planes to be used by
IAF indian army navy etc. third party
Export will require nod from French
Govt., which they will not give due to
Fear of US sanctions, as Safran also
Does business with US and its many
Prats sre sourced from US. Iran could
      Have bought VIP helicopters from
China or Russia, but as these use
Some spares from US, they cannot
Be exported to US adversaries, wherein
Any helicopter ir plane having more than 10 percent US content. Even mi 17
      Helicopter has dome import content
Spares made by some EU countries.
Our hal tejas is also not finding any
Buyers as US is no position to guarantee spares to GE engines of tejas if it is exported to third country.
      Exporting aviation products is not
That easy and involves geo political
      Abd economic assumtions.. iran was
Also interested in hal dhruv but french
Scuttled the deal as its engine is supplied by them. Dhruc helicopter
Has import content if 35 percent and
These suppliers dont wish we sell
      Hal dhruv to iran.

Only attack helicopter with the altitude ceiling of 6500 m.
