Yeah, I think Uvalde really changed the minds of a lot of people who honestly believed the 'good guy with a gun' philosophy. When gun-owners saw armed, police putting their own safety above the lives of children, I think they recognized that something just wasn't right. Let's also think about the fact that in many states in America, the motto of local police is moving far, FAR away from 'protect and serve'. In fact, a court case (Warren v. District of Columbia) found that police no longer have to support that maxim anymore. #JustSayin

That last part is also very true. I have been very lucky, however I have had three encounters with gun violence in my life. Two were in public while I was practicing my right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, the other was during a domestic dispute with a family member. I have yet to encounter this boogeyman experience with a migrant caravan or an ANTI-FASCIST protest demonstration. I am however worried about my car breaking down in front of a house that has their yard decorated as a MAGAt shrine. It’s the guns people, the guns!!!

I am a life-long gun owner, and military (infantry) veteran. I support reasonable gun control. In fact, I demand it. Responsible gun control, like universal background and mental health checks, are not an infringement on our 2nd Amendment rights. Every Right we have demands responsibility and when it comes to guns, we are doing things wrong in my opinion. Ted's points are secondary to addressing the problem.

I am a gun owner and a the wife of an Army veteran and I am appalled at the lack of gun laws in our state. Both my husband and I support the ban of any military grade weapons because we feel that those weapons belong in the military ONLY and not in the hands of untrained citizens and we also support red flag laws, gun storage laws and raising the age of ownership to 21. Every gun owner should be licensed and their gun registered, just like they have to be licensed to drive and their vehicles registered. It's not rocket science, but common sense.

I have a dangerous machine that I use every day. I had to take a test to use it, constantly keep it registered, and follow laws about its use every day. I even have to have it insured in case it causes damage. I, and many others, have no problem with that.
