I honestly didn’t mind hogan getting jobbed out to freeza. It was to get over that freeza was on another level and that gohan hasn’t been training which is stated in the film and a running theme throughout the series that gohan becomes complacent in times of peace.

The “Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta has god ki” theory is referencing the fact that he became a super saiyan God through fusing with Vegeta. A super saiyan god requires the energy of 4 pure hearted saiyans. Earlier in the series, in order to defeat Baby, he absorbed the energy of Gohan, Pan and Goten. Then, he fuses with Vegeta way later in the series to make it a 4th, thus making him a super saiyan God and explaining his red hair.
yeah the mythical aura and the combining power to the point it reaches the divine gods is actually cool theory if GODS and angels were a thing back then. tho if they were actually added but not shown would make it so mysterious and awesome

But Gogeta SSJ4s aura isn't flaming or looks like "divine" ki though, so he can't be using god ki. I think the red hair is just a design thing that looks cool; they had to make gogeta stand out, kinda make his SSJ4 look different or "better" than goku and vegeta's. Oh also Super saiyan god's color is crimson while gogeta SSJ4's hair color is like a red-orange.
If you want a non-lame explanation: I think Gogetas SSJ4 is an evolved version of SSJ4 since he's so powerful it changes the hair color too.
As a Hispanic person I can confirm we are all obsessed with DBZ or EVA I myself own like tons of dragon ball stuff.

The way they explained the majin race's origin was basically that Buu found an "adult" book in Mr. Satan's library, figured out women and babies exist, then made a woman majin and used a "love beam" to make a baby. The race took off from there. You cite some other relevant examples but DBO was the first place that came up, and the most detailed (unfortunately)
In an alternate way of it in a way is in Xenoverse 2 after Buu reads Hercules dirty book he wants kids so you help him by giving him candy/food that make him make the kids and then the Majin race goes on from there

I always thought power levels didn't matter, as far back as DBZ. Villains are the ones using scouters during spars with Goku and the Z Fighters and that ties into the show's main theme: Self-improvement is always possible, whether physically, mentally or emotionally but it's different for each person and trying to apply an arbitrary number to personal progress is meaningless.

I was always a fan of Tenshinhan / Tien.
And was soooo happy when he was there in the Androids saga, Boo saga, and in Dragon Ball super.

@@WithScienceAsMySheperd you're missing the point - given that the series used to be a lot more about martial arts, scouters and power levels were meant to be a criticism of those who solely think of brute strength. Think about it, a scouter doesn't take into consideration a user's technical prowess or ability or tactics, and Nappa was about to be cut in half by Krillin (who later even cut Frieza's tail), being saved by Vegeta catching on to the danger of the Kienzan.

The fusion mentioned at 2:12:14 is actually supposed to be a fusion of goku and the audience as it was a theatre experience that had audience input as a feature
Tarble was also mention in Battle of the Gods, but the reference to him was taken out in the Super adaptation.
Sega of America were unaware of the Super Saiyan until the English dub arrived so it's a huge coincidence. And Chaos Emeralds doesn't grant wishes, just power boost, perform Chaos abilities, power machine and create miracles. And Shadow wasn't meant to be Vegeta. It's later they made him Vegeta because fans never shut up comparing him.
Sourcebrew has that immeasurable power level with the amount of content he was in recently. First that giant Iceberg, then the collab with Jorge, and now this.

About the power scaling (Gohan getting 1-shotted by 1st form Frieza) It more goes to show
1. How little Gohan has actually trained. Not that he was like eatting poorly which would make him less fit, but he's grown soft during peacetime.
2. How powerful Frieza has gotten in such a short amount of time. His family are essentially mutants given how powerful they are compared to the rest of their race.
IMO, it perfectly captures these two points, and cements Gohan's new life. In the Future Trunks Saga where he meets Present Gohan and FTrunks sees him as nothing like his mentor, I wondered if Trunk's would emulate his father and comment on how Gohan has failed as a fighter with how soft he's become, but he instead sees that Gohan has a wife, a daughter, a career he enjoys, all of which he wouldn't have were it not for Trunks coming back in time in the first place, which is exactly what HIS Gohan and Goku before him fought for- peace.
...with that being said, i'm not a huge fan of his MASSIVE catch up during the TOP, and Super Hero just...Mmmhm lol.

Frieza was defeated first in the Namek saga in his final form by the first ever Super Saiyan. Since then, we had Android 19, who was equal to him, who got beaten by Super Saiyan Vegeta, Who got Beaten by the Androids, Who then got beaten by Imperfect Cell, Who got beaten by Piccolo, Who got beaten by Semi Perfect Cell, Who got beaten by Vegeta, Who got beaten by Perfect Cell, Who THEN got beaten by Gohan.
Not to mention the whole Buu Saga after that. The power difference was obscene, and having Frieza one tap Gohan after all that would be one thing, but to make him HIS FIRST FORM, WHICH GETS DECIMATED BY EVEN THE VERY FIRST APPEARANCE OF SUPER SAIYAN, is another.
In essence, Gohan's Super Saiyan power level would have been in the billions in the cell saga, and got one tapped by a character in a form that capped out at 600k last we saw it.
As someone from Portugal who watched the European Portuguese Dub every single day for a good amount of years I can say this dub was iconic! We had neat expressions like Yakon being called Miss Portugal 97, Kid Buu dancing to Portuguese songs adapted to his name (mostly Baby becoming Buu Buu in every song), opera singing power-ups and name changes like Piccolo being called Satan's Little Heart (no joke) and Supreme Kai being called God Neptune! Also my favourite is when they would change some info inside the episodes to break the fourth wall, like Frieza telling kids to go to school or Goku mentioning mid Buu Saga that there are still 58 episodes to end the show!

Heavy disagree with goku being the villain for the TOP, I don’t even think it was an idea they were going for at all. Let’s not forget that goku suggesting the tournament saved everyone cuz if not for that then every universe would’ve been destroyed regardless
He wasn’t the villain, but no one was or was not the villain in the TOP. Yes at the end it’s clear that universe 7 are good, at least with super 17 being the one to make the wish lol(frieza might have gotten everyone killed with his wish).
But everyone else at the TOP was told and shown that Goku only wanted the tournament to fight people who were strong. Goku didn’t know the consequences of tournament and the other contestants didn’t know that Goku was ignorant to the consequences. So naturally if you are forced into a tournament of power and told that this guy over here is responsible then were told he only wants to be here so he can fight strong people all while being told the consequences is everyone dies, you would probably look at Goku as a villain as well
In the German version the "androids" are also called cyborgs and their names are C and the number. Good to know that that version is more accurate to the Japanese one.

Budokai II was so damn good on the GameCube, very underrated trilogy of games, it's a shame Budokai III was never ported over, but II was still pretty much perfect at the time.
Regarding Gohan's age, in the fight against Cell he was 11 years old, between the end of the Cell saga and the beginning of Majin Buu's saga, 7 years passed, making "Adult Gohan" 18 years old

I think "Kamehameha in other languages" referred to the fact that, I the early English dub, for example, it was referred to as "glaciar wave", much like in the original "Zero y el Dragón Mágico" latin spanish dub, as well as in the earlier episodes of the second, more popular dub, it as called "Onda glacial", which is a direct translation of glaciar wave.
I love how they interpreted the kameha's laser burst as an ice one because of the white/blue color.

Ironically some of the commentary on this video proves the point about DB fans not watching/reading DB at all,like the thing about Jiren supposedly becoming evil out of nowhere,the U6 Saiyans getting everything with no effort,Goku being portrayed as a villain by the show itself and the Spirit Bomb supposedly only being able to damage evil people,etc.
U6 saiyans did get handed everything other than cabba. The rest i agree with you about. Spirit Bomb one is weird considering the show straight up says it can't miss and you got to absorb energy are its special niches. The evil thing is stardust breaker.

Considering that Kid Buu not only pushed the Spirit Bomb but was close to killing Goku with it,that has been a thing since the Z days.

About the Vic Mignogna situation, I used to follow it years back and from what I can recall from memory, the allegations were supposedly fabricated against him by his co-stars to outst him from Funimation. (The reason why I don't remember) but it lead to whole #KickVic vs #IStandWithVic movements on Twitter.
Also several of the fans that were claimed to have been sexually assaulted by Vic came out against the claims and didn't like their photos with Vic being used for false allegations against him.
Honestly a pretty hectic situation. I might have to go refresh myself on it afterwards.

If i may say this, Vic is still more likely to be in the wrong, as his attempts to sue his accusers over libel and slanded have been overruled, as well as his appeals of the initial overruling. I know a bit about Texas courts and the laws in Texas (as that's where the case attempts took place) and as far as im aware, a slander suit has to have pretty significant proof, or at least some form of case to show that the defendant had been spreading or fabricating misinfo about the one pursuing slander charges that negatively effect their carreer.
Basically, the one suing has to have proof of being slandered to the point of being negatively affected. However because both his initial case, AND the multiple appeals have all been overruled, that would mean that Vic either never made a case against the defendents, or never had one to begin with. Not to mention he was in multiple incidents in 2022 and 2023, iirc, where he was really hostile towards a business owner who didn't him in their venue doing autographs as Vic never asked for permission to do so, and where Vic, during a livestream, reached up to his webcamera, and pointed straight down at his crotch, which was only covered up by a pair of tighty whities, only to then be booted from the call he was in.

As a french I can confirm about the club dorothée. Basically back in the 80's someone at TF1 bought en masse some animes to get dubbed for that morning kid show (including dbz, nicky larson & hokuto no ken, the last 2 got a dub so softened it could be considered as the grandparents of gag dubs a la abridged series) and basically, that show was so popular, France pretty much became the 2 second largest manga/anime market in the world after Japan to this day. Just that!

Quick correction about the Portuguese dub: Kai wasn't dubbed, and Super was eventually picked back up after the cancellation. Plus, Super Heroes did get dubbed, so it's safe to assume it'll continue getting released.
Also, the Portuguese dub of Broly predicted the Fortnite event, so make of that ehat you will.
Actually, one last fun tidbit: Buyu Retsuden was released for the Mega Drive in Portugal, simply as Dragon Ball Z. However, it wasn't translated. It was simply the Japanese cartridge with an adaptor for European consoles. The adaptor wasn't even custom made, it was simply purchase off-the-shelf en-masse.

It's this random manga made by the government of Tibet that continues the DBZ storyline with surprisingly good art and story, which some people prefer instead of GT (thought that could be said about anything DB)

I think i know what the two Bardock thing is. It's the fact that in that special, he went back in time and went Super Sayian against Chilled. So in that timeline, Bardock then dies of old age after the battle with Chilled and then a million years passed, Bardock is born on once again on endless time loop.

Majin Piccolo is a scenario that actually appears in DBZ Supersonic Warriors 2 and a few other games.
The creation of Majin race refers to the fact that Majin Buu found a porn magazine owned by Mr. Satan, inspiring him to create a female version of himself, then proceeding to make little Buus with her.

Tier 1’s sonic parallels are incorrect (not all of them) 1st point Shadow is based on vegeta: Nope Shadow the Hedgehog is mored based on Mewtwo from Pokémon Examples Being: Tragic Backstory, Distrust To Humans, Finding His Purpose. 2nd Point Silver Based On (I Forgot His Name): Well you made some good points but there’s a bunch of characters who fit along with silver so we would be here for days and months and years and decades if I listed them all (The Shadow Point Is From TyeRecordsLol Or Something)

I think Cell def went super saiyan 2, I mean he had the golden aura with the lightning exactly like SS2 and right after it was introduced to the series. and I feel like it was stated that he can use ssj because of his large amount of saiyan cells (Goku and Vegetas pure saiyan cells) Doesnt he get Zenkai Boosts too? Im pretty sure thats how they explained his powerup after he blew himself up. Idk, him going SS2 makes a lot more sense to me than it just looking exactly like SS2 but not actually being it. I think the reason Gohan overcame him was because he simply had more potential than cell and his Power ceiling with SS2 was slightly higher than Super perfect Cells at the time, A big theme of the cell games was Gohans underestimating his own latent power. I think Gohan was one level above cell the whole fight he just didnt even realize it himself

I don't think Cell obtained the SSJ Full Power, and you need it to be able to obtain the phase 2. It took Goku and Gohan 11 months in the Time Room

Actually gohan was a decent bit stronger than cell. The only reason he struggled was because lack of confidence. Remember he beat cell with 1 arm.
@tpg2834 cell was basically ssj2 but gohan still destroyed him power wise. There's plenty of signs that prove it to be the case.
On that Goku vs Superman question. It usually is stated that it doesn't work for goku because superman is a comic character with so many versions of him. Cosmic Armor or Milkman superman are busted, while regular superman would be crushed under mui.

Shit Z is 291 episodes and I think only 20 or so are actually filler. Yet out of 500 episodes of Naruto Shippuden, only 343 episodes follow the manga story. That means Shippuden is 45% filler. Then add the filler from part 1 and you realize Naruto has more filler than all of Dragonball Z. Bleach and One Piece are especially guilty of abusing filler. Most times in Dragonball it gives more character depth or just extended some fights
1:36:43 this is actually not a theory. It was confirmed by a manga panel from Toyotaro that Ginyu did in fact have an original body. There’s a drawing showing Ginyu admiring his new body we know him for as his original one is seen in the background from behind with the swapped host confused.

2:01:58 The android retcon refers to 19 and 20's silhouettes being used in the manga when Trunks is talking about 17 & 18 in his timeline. Of course this ties into the editor's recommendation to change the arc villains, but when that chapter was first published, the silhouettes were of 19 & 20, which makes it a retcon.
I know that this Iceberg is mostly focused on the English-speaking audience, but they should have put the Mexican parody of Dr. Goku.
