  • Huge improvement over what I was using. If you are in need of a stable base, look no further. If you can find it on sale, I highly recommend this lead sled

Like the lead sleds .Had a original lead sled. Gave it to my brother in law when I purchased the lead sled Solo. They are a big help sighting in and accuracy shots. Lead can be expensive. For weight. Good video.

I have my sights set on this sled. I am looking for a rest that will stay solid and not move when the rifle is fired so I can get an accurate grouping when testing my reloads. My primary use for it would be with my service rifle so I am very curious how everything will move when the rifle is fired.

How does it compare to Caldwell Lead Sled 3?

Keep me updated on how it works out for you... My recommendation if it counts, would be to use the lead weights that divers use in their belts to hold the sled secure.

Not a bad idea. I bought go to bass pro and buy some of the heavy lead weights that they use for deep sea fishing

I am seeing those magnifiers behind red dots a lot - I have a Romeo 5 on my only AR and don’t think I could shoot accurately much further than 25 yards
    - what kind of distance can you get out to with a magnifier?

In the Patriot games we do some shooting at 50 yards and some at 100, and we have gone all the way out to 325. When I’m close, I don’t need magnification (50-100) but when we’re spotting distance I definitely do. I tried the LPVO and was fighting the eye relief. I like the red dot better. Plus it’s not a precision shooting competition. Just need to ring steel

25lbs of lead costs around $100US. I bought 50lbs. Well worth it!

Have one and just ordered holosun 403r red dot and hm3x magnifier for my ar-15. I don't have any weights but the unit itself is pretty heavy so I hope I'll be able to sight in the dot.

👍👍..I have been looking at this for awhile just haven't gotten it yet.... I'll probably wait until I move to Tennessee.
I did pick up a Ruger sfar 20" Saturday only put 3rds out of it no sights I need to decide what kind of optic i want to put on I have some here but I think I might put either a thermal or a Burris 3 on it.

Nice video. I am thinking on purchasing one of these myself for sighting in rifles. I used to reload shotgun shells and could use the 25-pound shot bags for weight. I do think that just a bit of foam rubber around the butt of your rifle would do the trick for stabilization you are looking for. Having it the way you would prefer could be more than someone else would want and even be more of a negative for others. I can see your point on comfort and natural shooting being slightly impaired because you intend on shooting off of it for much more than sighting in. Again, very nice video and good review.

You keep getting stuff from bass pro and they will have to start sponsoring your channel.

Heavy sand sold as blasting media is way cheaper @ northern tool. Eagle Lead shot runs 58$ per 25# plus shipping. Or get some bricks and a rubber mat from Loews or Home Depot

Bought my lead about 5 months ago. Price must have dropped. Thanks for the tip.

The blasting sand media is a great idea. Thanks for the suggestion John
