Minimalist Camping - Overnight with ONLY a Lightweight Haversack

- Back at it with a new overnight video! This trip was pretty short as I didn't get out until after work. Hiked in approximately one mile and set up a quick diamond wedge shelter. Laid down a little bedding for some added comfort with my wool blanket.
Temperature was very humid, so water was vitally important. After collecting a little water, I made a quick fire with a strike anywhere match and a simple dehydrated meal of Red Beans & Rice. Dinner was short lived and it got dark very quickly, so I settled in for bed. My shelter did the job and I stayed dry and fairly comfortable all night.
The morning consisted of a quick snack, breaking camp and hitting the trail.

I've went on hundreds of overnighters in my life. The one item I have always taken with me except in winter is a mosquito net, it has literally saved my life a few times and when compressed down take up no room hardly and they are very light. Great camping to you great video. 😊

You’ve done an excellent job documenting your overnight stay with a minimum kit. Goes to show that we can spend an evening (or two) in the woods and be fairly comfortable without a heavy load out. I’m set up in a very similar way with the exception of a lightweight hammock to sleep in. Whenever possible my body now prefers the hammock over sleeping on the ground. The lightweight hammock doesn’t take up much space in my kit and my old bones sure feel better the next morning. Thanks a lot for your time! I've actually considered tossing in my lightweight hammock. They're far more comfortable for sure. Next video should be another overnighter with my heavy duty haversack. Hoping to learn what works and what doesn't and possibly make some adjustments to both. I'm constantly changing things around and trying new things anyway. God bless! Felt pretty rushed as I only had about 2.5 - 3 hours of daylight left by the time I got out there. That included a 1 mile trek. I was worried how it would turn out, but overall I was happy with it. Gotta make do when you still have to work. Thanks a lot for watching, Corley. I appreciate your time!

Tbis is the best way to camp been doing it for years and i cant go back as mich as i want to. Im so glad you did this. If it was your first time I'm really impressed very well put together kit that works for you. Dont let anyone else dictate what you actually need. We are all different. @@awayinthewilderness4319 oh yeah youve got nuggets doing thst in the summer. I usually Carry my kijaro in the haversack in the summer to get off the ground.
Just remember in the summertime if you're hot don't use a ground pad because that same conviction that kills you in the winter will save you in the summer. The ground under your pad it'll be soft and it's still suck the heat out of you she can be comfortable tonight

@@offthecouch1999 Actually got a little chilly in the early morning. Not chilly enough to ever get under the wool blanket, but a little chilly.

That one is just a cheap Fox Outdoor wool blanket. I believe it's a 50/50 blend. Not 100% wool. Thanks for watching! 👍
