Encanto marks the 60th animated feature from Walt Disney Animation Studios and will soon be available to audiences to enjoy at home. Fans can enjoy a sing-along movie version, never-before-seen bonus features and deleted scenes when Encanto arrives on all major digital platforms this holiday season on December 24 and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD February 8.
• Deleted Scenes
o Introduction - Heads of Story Jason Hand and Nancy Kruse present four scenes not seen in the film’s release, but were part of the journey toward the final version of the story.
o Chores! - Abuela has sent most of the family to town on various assignments that bring them acclaim, while Mirabel, her father and uncle are asked to clean the house.
o Another Way In - Mirabel attempts to understand a clue found in her uncle’s vision. To make this happen, she must go through Antonio’s room, where adventures unfold.
o Isabela Goes Into the Woods - When Mirabel sees her sister head for apparent danger in the woods, she races to save her, and encounters the surprise of a lifetime!
o Back to the Mural - Feeling rejected, Mirabel goes back to town. Abuela seeks her out and reveals a part of her personality that her granddaughter has never seen.

please do a video about Camilo also knowing about bruno's presence in the Casita, his depiction of bruno and those "rats along his back" seem a bit too accurate for someone who hasn't seen his uncle for 10 years.

One of the things that truly impresses me about Disney is that they give their creators plenty of space and time to work through bad ideas. At a lot of places, there would probably be pressure to get rolling on the first workable draft, which would result in a far less memorable film.
That's really true. They spend years figuring out how to get the story right and a lot of the final animation only happens at the very end, once they're happy with the story.
Not always. With Frozen 2 they didn't, and it shows.
@@FlicksAndTheCity Which makes me sad when you see movies like Frozen 2 that did not get a chance to get the story right, it's rushed and it shows. Especially since so many of their concepts would've been far better for the film imho

im glad they left all of this out. especially with the fact that it wouldn't have sat well with the storyline... but some of these can be in good use for Encanto 2, especially with Dolores being a potential villian

@@FlicksAndTheCity her not wanting her gift anymore. it could drive her to a point of finding ways to 'destroy' or give up her gift, that would end up putting Casita in danger :)

Considering this movie had no villain and recent Disney movies have lacked villains, I doubt they're make Dolores a villain. It's a stretch to think that after all those years of her having her powers she would suddenly be sick of them.

I keep rewinding that 2D sequence of Camilo shape shifting into Bruno cuz it’s been so long since I’ve seen anything 2D from Disney. More…I nEed MoRE!😵💫😭
I swear Luisa is actually Maui’s daughter from Moana. Or at least based of him as the person who helped with Moana also helped with Encanto

The only thing in this that I think should’ve been added was the Columbian rock vision stone. That would’ve been SUCH a cool cultural history reference!
Well i believe it is a wonderful idea giving mirabel a gift. Or the Bad Casita, i think it would make the movie more fun. But mirabel's quests is very mysterious, i wonder why they deleted it.
There are a few similarities with Encanto and Haunted Mansion. Such as the mind (space) bending, twisting corridors, rippling floors, sentient wallpaper, disappearing doors and windows, Alma & Gracey's depressing backstories, Bruno and Leota's secret rooms hidden behind a painting, both featuring exotic plants, the sand Mirabel falls into, etc. Even if Mirabel did get a gift, I read a fanfiction online were she was indeed given the ability to transform into a mermaid, yes, you heard that right, and also was given the power to control water. Similar to the Mariner's ghost and his usage of water to scare Ben Mathias into returning to Gracey Manor. Even similarities with Alma's nightmarish vision which was scrapped, featuring ghostly men on horseback, which could've been a reference to Haunted Mansion's skeletal ghostly wraiths, and the Forbidden Forest which was also scrapped is a reference to the haunted trees in the Mansion's graveyard.
That wouldve been waaaaay too much to put in a movie, you'd have to make a short series in order to incorperate any of that. But its cool how it looks like a ghibili x disney collab. But good thing they left these out would be cluttered
But dont get me wrong, i wish for another surrealistic trippy alice in wonderland aesthetic movie i love AiW.

I'm glad they scrapped a lot of these ideas. While several of these ideas sound interesting, I like the focus on the family withing their home. And while "bad casita" would have given some additional laughs, it would've been hard to sell why Mirabel should want to save it

Talking animal heads It's not something positive to have in an animated movin an animated movie it's like how Disney keep forgetting the concept of ghost means somebody had to die So unless you're trying to set a creepy circumstance It's not something that you would consider fun and entertaining

I dont' think Encanto is perfect, and it could have been much faithfull to Colombia, but I'm glad they scrapped all of these ideas (specially the terrible one about the sutffed chatty animals). Great as usual, Jan!!! Thanx!!!
Honestly? I think Disney made the right call with all of these scenes. The final movie was perfect and I suspect most of these changes would have taken away from that.

I think that’s the point. The Madrigals are stronger and more understanding of each other at the end of the movie but they also realize each of their independence and the importance of the individual. So Mirabel won’t be left behind, neither will Bruno,the family is together now. so I thinks it’s both

Dead taxidermied animals talking is too dark and frankly gross...it means they were just killing animals for trophy/decoration. Bad message. Can't believe they even considered it.
